Persons who have completed a training course at the training center of the GUGPS of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia or the manufacturer and have received a certificate for the right to drive a fire tanker are allowed to operate the firefighting tanker ATs-5-40 (5557).

Operation of the tanker by persons without a license is PROHIBITED.

For reasons of labor safety, when operating a firefighting tanker, it is strictly PROHIBITED to make changes to the design or install additional equipment.

The manufacturer is not responsible for the consequences associated with the operation of a fire truck that has been modified by the owner. Claims for accidents or incidents with such changes will not be considered by the manufacturer.

The ATs-5-40 firefighting tanker truck on a cross-country chassis (6x6) of the URAL-5557 family, equipped with a firefighting pump PN-40UV is intended for:

  • extinguishing fires with fire extinguishing agents;
  • delivery of combat crews, fire-fighting equipment and a supply of fire extinguishing agents to the fire site;
  • supplying water and air-mechanical foam of low and medium expansion through pressure hoses, manual and fire monitors and foam generators when extinguishing fires.

A tank truck can be used as an independent combat unit with the intake of foam concentrate from a foam tank or an external reservoir and the intake of water from a tank, from a reservoir or from a water supply network. The tank truck is designed for operation in areas with a temperate climate (version U) at ambient temperatures from minus 40°C to plus 40°C, category 1 GOST 15150-69.

The tank truck consists of the following main parts:

  • chassis with driver's cabin
  • pumping unit with drive
  • foam concentrate tank
  • water and foam communications
  • body
  • fire monitor
  • electrical equipment
  • set of fire-technical equipment.

The tanker is equipped with the tools, spare parts and accessories necessary for repair and maintenance.

The AC-5-40 tanker is equipped with a PN-40UV fire pump.

The pumping unit is located in the rear compartment of the body and consists of a fire pump, a pipeline system and pipeline fittings.

The pumping unit is mounted on a welded frame.

To maintain positive temperatures in winter, the compartment is heated by a collector installed on the left side of the frame.

The electrical equipment of the tank truck consists of chassis electrical equipment and additional electrical equipment.

The tanker is powered by direct current with a voltage of 24V.

The following are installed in the body of the tanker:

  • turning on the PTO of the water pump;
  • lighting of work areas;
  • lighting of body compartments and combat crew cabins;
  • communication between the crew cabin and the driver’s cabin;
  • recording the operating time of the water pump;
  • control of water and foam level.

Fire-fighting equipment on a tanker truck is located on the roof of the body and in the compartments. Firefighting equipment is securely secured with special mechanisms, clamps and other fastening elements. Fire-fighting equipment is placed taking into account convenient access and quick removal.
