Within the framework of this agreement, acceptance means the performance by the User of actions indicating the intention to use the functionality of the Site, including, but not limited to, such actions include payment for goods of the Administrator.

TERMS AND DEFINITIONS:

The terms of the Agreement govern the relationship between the Administrator and the User and contain the following definitions:

The Agreement may use terms not defined by the above concepts. In this case, the interpretation of such a term is made in accordance with the text of the Agreement. If there is no clear interpretation of the term in the text of the Agreement, the Parties are guided by the interpretation of the term: first of all, as defined on the Site.

SUBJECT OF THE AGREEMENT

1.1. In accordance with Article 437 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation (hereinafter referred to as the Civil Code of the Russian Federation), this document is a public offer addressed to individuals, and if the conditions set out below are accepted, the individual undertakes to pay for the Goods on the terms set out in this offer. In accordance with paragraph 3 of Article 438 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation, payment for the Goods by the User is an acceptance of the Administrator’s offer, which is tantamount to concluding a Sales and Purchase Agreement for the Goods on the terms described in this offer and on the Site.

1.2. The Administrator transfers, and the User accepts and pays for the Goods under the terms of this Agreement.

1.3. The Administrator reserves the right to make changes to this offer, in connection with which the User undertakes to independently monitor the presence of changes in the offer posted on the Site. The Administrator must place a notice of changes to this offer no later than 7 (seven) days before the date of their entry into force.

RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS OF THE PARTIES

2.1. The administrator undertakes:

The administrator reserves the right to refuse to fulfill its obligations in the event of force majeure circumstances (“force majeure”).

2.2.2. Without agreement with the User, transfer your rights and obligations under the transaction (Agreement) concluded with the User to third parties.

2.3. The user undertakes:

PROCEDURE FOR MUTUAL PAYMENTS AND PROVISION OF GOODS

3.1. Payment for the Administrator's goods is made using a service for accepting payments on the Internet. The payment form for services is posted on the Site.

3.2. The User's access to goods, information about which is posted on the Site, is provided subject to 100% prepayment of the Administrator's remuneration, in the manner and manner specified in this Agreement, on the Site or otherwise communicated to the user.

3.3. The Administrator reserves the right to cancel the User's access to the product if it is established that he has transferred the details received during registration to third parties, as well as if the User distributes information and materials received during the purchase process. The use of information and materials is permitted only for personal purposes and for the personal use of the User. User access to the product is provided for no more than one user for each individual access.

3.4. The moment the product is provided online is the fact that access to the product is provided.

RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PARTIES

4.1. All information materials, including those published on the Site in the public domain, are the intellectual property of the Administrator, or the intellectual property of third parties, permission to use which has been legally obtained by the Administrator. 4.2. For failure to fulfill or improper fulfillment of their other obligations under this Agreement, the Parties bear other liability in accordance with the current legislation of the Russian Federation.

4.3. Neither Party will be responsible for the complete or partial failure of the other Party to fulfill its obligations if the failure is a consequence of force majeure circumstances, such as: fire, flood, earthquake, strikes and other natural disasters, war and hostilities or other circumstances, that are beyond the control of the Parties and that impede the implementation of this Agreement and that arose after the conclusion of the Agreement. If any of such circumstances directly affected the failure to fulfill the obligation within the period specified in the Agreement, then this period is proportionately extended for the duration of the relevant circumstance.

4.4. The Administrator's liability is limited to the amount of remuneration received for each service provided.

Mighty "Fred"

A 1997 Freightliner FLD 120 Classic was purchased in the USA and arrived in Russia in the spring of this year with 700,000 km on the odometer. The owner uses it to carry 40-foot containers to St. Petersburg, and the truck’s mileage on our roads is now just over 20,000 km. The average cargo weight is 20 - 25 tons, the container weighs 4 tons and the container ship has the same weight. The tractor itself, with all its impressive dimensions, weighs about 7 tons, which is achieved by the extensive use of aluminum and plastic in the design of the vehicle. Thus, the total weight of the road train reaches 40 tons. But according to Sergei, this is far from the limit, since the maximum weight of the road train in which this truck can operate is up to 75 tons. The maximum load on the saddle is 23 tons, and The instrument panel has a pressure gauge showing this load.

In general, when studying the car, you never cease to be amazed at how well thought out American trucks are, both in general and in the smallest details. Take, for example, simple rubber hood latches instead of the usual mechanical lock, typical of American hood technology. What's special about them, you ask? The fact is that when driving on rough roads, a conventional mechanical hood lock quickly breaks down. And on “Americans” the hood simply “walks” when driving on bumpy roads due to these same rubber bands.

Let's move on. The truck's aft marker lights are integrated into the rear cross member of the frame, where they are better protected. As for the rear mudguards, their struts are mounted on powerful springs. And let’s say, when the truck hits some obstacle while maneuvering in reverse, these racks simply bend to the side, and do not break off along with the side lights, as happens on Russian or European trucks.

One of the main features of long-range overseas tractors is their huge residential modules. Our hero is equipped with the largest “sleeping bag” that Freightliner standardly installs on trucks of this model. The sleeping compartment of the Raised Roof Sleeper Cab is almost 1.8 m long, and its height at the highest part is almost 2.5 m. Mansions, in a word!

Two sleeping shelves almost 1 m wide are freely placed inside. In addition, the salon has wardrobes for clothes, and there are a bunch of shelves, drawers, niches and pockets for personal items. According to Sergei, in this abundance of places for luggage, at first you get confused and spend a long time looking for what you put where. But once you get used to it, you begin to understand how convenient it really is. There is also a coffee maker and toaster in the living area. Next in line is the installation of a refrigerator, since the “original” unit was stolen from the interior while the car was sailing to Russia.

Despite the large cubic capacity, the cabin retains heat well and does not cool down for a long time. The interior is also very sealed, it does not “suck” dust, although the truck’s mileage is no longer low. The driver's workplace looks typically American. The angular, tall instrument panel with wood grain trim is oriented towards the driver, so that all controls are within easy reach. There is a whole scattering of instruments on the panel. In addition to traditional parameters, they also show boost pressure, exhaust and transmission oil temperatures, air pressure in the brake system of a semi-trailer and the emergency brake system of a tractor, load on the saddle, etc.

As for visibility, the owner is generally satisfied with it, only in the rain, due to the short wiper blades, uncleaned areas remain on the glass, impairing visibility. In addition, due to the fact that the main rear-view mirrors are straight and not panoramic, there is a slight lack of visibility when driving in reverse. But the panoramic mirror on the hood helps a lot when driving.

What's under the hood? There lives a 6-cylinder Detroit Diesel 60 series turbodiesel with electronic control and pump injectors. With a volume of 12.7 liters, the engine develops 470 hp. and easily accelerates a loaded road train to a cruising speed of 120 - 130 km/h. (On a tractor without a trailer, Sergei accelerated to a maximum speed of 165 km/h. Moreover, according to him, the truck’s cannon-like acceleration from 80 to 120 km/h is especially impressive.)

The situation with fuel consumption is as follows: two 400-liter tanks are enough for a loaded road train to reach St. Petersburg and about another 300 km in Moscow and its environs. It is interesting that due to the design features, fuel tanks can only be filled to 95%, about which there is a corresponding inscription stamped near the filler neck. If the tanks are filled to capacity, excess fuel will begin to splash out from under the cap.

Despite the impressive mileage, the engine has not yet caused any problems for the owner, it does not “eat” oil and works like a clock. By the way, about the clock. The car has a timer that can be set to allow the engine to idle while parked. I started the engine, programmed the timer, for example, for 10 minutes, and after it expires, the engine will automatically turn off. At first, the current owner did not know about this “clockwork” and was quite scared when one day a diesel engine, which was working peacefully in the parking lot, suddenly died out for no apparent reason. In addition to the stop timer, there is also an engine protection system that shuts it down in the event of a drop in pressure and oil level, as well as in case of overheating.

The transmission on the truck is a manual 10-speed from Eaton Fuller. A feature of American gearboxes, as we have written many times, is the absence of synchronizers and gear shifting without pressing the clutch. More precisely, the clutch pedal is depressed only when the truck starts moving. According to the owner, the clutch is very sensitive, so when starting or maneuvering the clutch pedal you need to work with precision. But when the truck starts moving and drives, you can forget about the pedals. You just spin the engine up to about 1500 rpm and, without touching the pedal, stick into the next gear thanks to the clutch brake. And no “double squeezes”. True, if the truck has stalled, then due to the same characteristics of the clutch, you will no longer be able to “swing” on it: when the driver quickly shifts, for example, from first gear to reverse, with the clutch pedal depressed, the drive wheels still spin forward for some time.


In the short time that “Fred” has lived and worked in Russia, Sergei has had no problems with him. A pair of oil seals, rear brake pads and drums have been replaced, the cardan has been injected, and the axles and gearbox have been converted to “synthetic”. That's all for now. The truck works, pleases its owner and delights everyone around. As it should be...

PROCEDURE FOR CONSIDERATION OF DISPUTES

5.1. All disputes and disagreements that may arise between the Parties will be resolved through negotiations. The parties are provided with a mandatory claim procedure for resolving the dispute. The claim procedure will be considered complied with if the party with the claim sends a reasoned claim to the other party by email, indicating specific requirements. The period for consideration of a claim is 30 days.

5.2. If controversial issues are not resolved during negotiations, the disputes are subject to consideration under the jurisdiction of the Administrator.

OTHER CONDITIONS

7.1. By making payment for services, the User confirms his agreement with the terms of this Agreement and the rules for the provision of goods. The User guarantees that he has the technical ability to use the Administrator’s products.

7.2. The possibility of canceling/postponing the date of provision of goods is established by the Administrator independently. The Administrator is not liable to the User for failure to fulfill and/or improper fulfillment of its obligations in connection with the cancellation or postponement of the date through no fault of the Administrator, about which the User was informed on the Site or in any other way in accordance with the terms of this Agreement.

7.3. The Parties acknowledge that if any of the provisions of the Agreement becomes invalid during the term of its validity due to changes in legislation, the remaining provisions of the Agreement are binding on the Parties during the term of the Agreement.

7.4. By accepting this Agreement, the User confirms that he has read and agrees with the privacy policy posted on the Site.

7.5. By accepting the terms of this Offer, the User expresses his consent to receive information about all other products, regardless of the validity period of this Agreement, provided that such consent can be withdrawn by the User at any time by sending an appropriate request to the Administrator.

7.6. Everything that is not regulated by the provisions of this Agreement and the rules posted on the Site regarding each service is resolved by using the norms of the legislation of the Russian Federation.
