Fuel consumption rate for Renault Premium • Renault model range

More modern “Saddlers” Premium are assembled in Russia, at the Kaluga Renault/Volvo plant. My tractor is a real “French”. The car was assembled in Europe, which I consider a definite plus in terms of reliability and workmanship. Judge for yourself: after a minor accident, a scratch appeared behind the driver’s door, a piece of paint broke off, but two years have passed, and the metal without putty and paint is still “like new”, there is not even a hint of rust. True, the tractor is designed to work on smooth European roads. This is evidenced by the low frame in combination with “low” main tires. Therefore, if you go east, it is advisable not to go further than Moscow. Where the roads end and the directions begin, there is nothing to do on the European Premium.

The battery box will accommodate batteries of any power

I am very pleased with the light of the front headlights. I had to drive a “younger” Renault tractor with spot lens headlights - the light there is much worse. I like the Renault interior, the only negative is the high engine tunnel. It divides the cabin into two zones, “eating up” the free space. But if the driver is of average height, he can easily change clothes while standing on the tunnel - he won’t reach the ceiling. Only tall drivers will not be very comfortable. In addition, during a whole day of driving, the tunnel rubs my right leg in the knee area.

For convenience, I had to install an additional tank myself

The “sleeping bag” of the “Frenchman” is the most ordinary, like most European cabovers. In fact, the cabin is designed for only one driver. Instead of an upper shelf, there is a hanging hammock. Sleeping in it is very uncomfortable, or rather, completely unrealistic. Therefore, the hammock was simply removed. The result is that the car has one sleeping place. There is only one cigarette lighter for the entire cabin. Therefore, I often had to choose between a phone charger, a navigator, a coffee maker, an FM modulator, etc. To solve this problem, I installed a splitter myself. Now there are four cigarette lighter sockets in the cabin - that's enough.

The rear fenders are flimsy and need to be strengthened

There are no storage bins on the passenger side above the windshield, although there was nothing to prevent them from being installed there. But nothing can be done - this is the budget configuration of the tractor.

I’m very pleased with the headlights - the light is better than in some newer tractors

More than once I had to spend the night in a Renault Premium in winter. The cabin is sealed and keeps heat well. If we were to find fault, I would additionally insulate the back wall. But overall, the cabin is comfortable even in severe frosts. The tractor in the basic configuration is equipped with two “autonomous units” at once, there is a dry hair dryer and a liquid heater. Usually the power of a dry heater is enough for me. It can work all night without draining the battery. In extreme cases, the heater turns off itself, leaving enough energy to start the engine (in such cases, the refrigerator usually turns off too. - Author's note). I use liquid “autonomy” only in extreme cases, as it quickly “kills” the batteries. Most often I use it to warm up the engine before starting. In the original, the fuel intake for the heaters is provided from the main tank of the tractor, but I placed an additional tank on the rear wall of the cab. After the modification, thick frozen diesel fuel began to flow better into the heater due to the difference in altitude. The “native” fuel tank has a volume of 420 liters. This is clearly not enough for long-range combat, so we installed another similar tank on the tractor. It is more convenient to work with a total volume of 840 liters.

The high engine tunnel causes some inconvenience

In severe frosts, the low-pressure fuel pump has failed more than once (the Renault Premium 420 DCi has three fuel pumps. - Author's note). Usually it is not subject to

Two years have passed, and the metal, without putty and paint, is still “like new”, there is not even a hint of rust

repair - only replacement. Another “fuel” problem in winter is poor heating of the separator filter. Diesel paraffin quickly clogs it, so in severe frosts you have to take out the filter and drive on unrefined fuel. Not the best solution, but there is no other option.

The scratch is already two years old, but there is no rust

The engine runs great with or without a filter. Fortunately, my tractor has a 420-horsepower engine, developed not by the French, but by the Scandinavians. Essentially, this is an inline 6-cylinder Volvo engine. For movement with 20-23 tons of cargo, the engine power is more than enough. I practically don’t use the lower halves of the gearbox and even with a load I start in 3rd gear. In addition, the motor is very reliable. I don’t know what problems previous owners had, but among our major engine breakdowns I can only remember the failure of the injector. A new one costs about 300 euros - that’s a bit expensive. But craftsmen restore old “renowned” injectors for 125-150 euros. In our case, the repair cost 135 euros; we removed/installed it ourselves. I change the oil myself. Replacement every 40 thousand kilometers. I fill in with regular mineral oil for Euro-3 engines. The cable drive of the gearbox requires regular lubrication. Over time, the vein inside the cable may break, so the gearbox drive must be syringed.

An additional heater tank was installed on the rear wall of the cabin.

On my tractor, the battery box is spacious, and the batteries themselves are located parallel to the direction of travel. Therefore, if necessary, you can install batteries of almost any power and size - this is convenient. In other modifications of Renault Premium, the batteries are placed across the tractor; it is almost impossible to “stick” batteries there that are more powerful than the “original” 180-amp ones. In general, the “French” requires some modifications for reliable service in our latitudes. But overall the car turned out to be reliable. With a mileage of 1 million kilometers, we had no problems with the air suspension, and the engine also did not require large investments. The only flimsy thing about the Renault Premium is the little things: the plastic fender liners break, the bumper breaks, and the electronics glitch in small ways. Who has Renault Premium

A truism for those who have not had their first car. You can take a used car and drive it right away, but the second option is to get stuck in repairs and improvements for six months and at another cost. Everything depends on the condition. For example, for DCI one injector costs 1000 euros, and there are 6 of them! If it's new, then take it. New everything is about the same.

If you buy a new one, of course, take it, but the dealership will also give you a guarantee.

1. What kind of injection pump? 2. Determine the specific year of the car. This is max. important due to the presence of electronics. 3. European or “English”. Also important. Conclusion: if items 3 and 2 are present (everything is electric), I do not recommend it. From personal experience. Money is like a bottomless barrel, but there is zero return. And I wasn’t the only one who got into this situation. Man TGA is even cheaper to bring to mind (adapt) than this miracle technique. I won’t write anything more - it’s too much and tedious, go to those who use them and ask. You can draw conclusions from the surveys.

Motors with electronics have been available for Renault since 2000. What do you want - solo or tractor?

Fuel consumption standards for Renault - AutoGRAPH From the outside, some of the design features of the French seem too intricate to many, but practice shows that there is no driver dissatisfied with his Renault truck, and on the contrary, everyone notes that their car never presents unpleasant surprises, but in relation to comfort superior to competitive models. Ideally, the selling company finds out the operating conditions of the truck from the buyer before purchase or during the purchase, and based on this data makes a calculation using a formula.

Renault Magnum fuel consumption per 100 km... Purpose and advantages

The 4th generation cars were distinguished by the fact that their engines produced by Renault complied with Euro-4 and Euro-5 standards, while American Mack engines only did not take Euro Cargo, at the time when I checked fuel consumption and discovered a significant increase in consumption. The maneuverability of such trains in urban conditions is limited, so they are used only for communication between objects in a straight line, with a minimum number of turns and entries into narrow streets and alleys.

It was not possible to check, because he sold the car and left work, but for those who are thinking about working as a truck driver or in quarries, for example, then, of course, it is best to first of all pay attention to this particular model. For example, when working off-road, I noticed that fuel consumption increases by almost 30, which is about 10-15 liters, depending on the amount of cargo you are transporting.

Engine and gearbox

Engine power reaches 436 horsepower. Torque is 1900 rpm. The engine consists of 6 cylinders, with INTERCOOLER turbocharging. Injection is carried out under pressure, thanks to electronic control. Cylinder diameter – 123 mm. Engine capacity – 10.8 liters.

The fuses are all right. The excellent performance characteristics of the Premium Lander are the result of a number of design solutions, such as the use of axles and axles with single and double reduction gears, as well as tandem axles with double reduction reduction.

Designers provide the ability to install bodies for various purposes, so the truck is very popular for distribution in urban areas, work in public utilities and for regional transportation of any goods. How does the car drive? I like. An eight-speed gearbox plus “halves”, a 420-horsepower engine – there’s enough traction. But Volvo engines also pull better. I don't know why, maybe the settings are different. In general, the old non-electronic 420 “mares” and the new, electronic “horses” are two different things. Electronic motors are “dead”, they don’t move. And everyone, not just Renault. Old cars drove more fun. But that's true, if you're being picky.
