The factory design does not always suit the owners of the UAZ Farmer. Therefore, some people perform car tuning on their own. UAZs are tuned for hunting, fishing and other activities related to driving in hard-to-reach areas of rough terrain.

The purpose of tuning is to improve the vehicle's cross-country ability and increase its load capacity. For this:

1. The distance from the frame to the vehicle axles increases. For this purpose, modernized springs and shock absorbers are installed;
2. Larger diameter tires are installed. Owners install tires with all-terrain tread. This increases the model’s cross-country ability;
3. Bridges are being replaced. The owners install axles from UAZ vehicles intended for military use on the model. Military bridge gearboxes differ from civilian ones;
4. Various winches are installed. Installation of the winch requires a reinforced front bumper design;
5. The exhaust pipe is extended and led upward. This exhaust gas exhaust design makes it possible to overcome water obstacles;
6. In order to increase the load capacity, rigid springs and a roof rack are installed on the cab roof. This allows you to transport heavier and bulkier cargo.
