The GAZ-330232 model is a special modified version of the GAZ-33023 car, also known as the Gazelle Farmer. The new model has a key difference in the form of an extended chassis. Story
Serial production of the basic GAZelle flatbed truck began in 1994.
The Gorky Automobile Plant added a two-row cab to its range in 1995, simultaneously with the serial production of the GAZ-33023 model, which, by the way, was equipped with a similar cab.
If we compare the standard GAZ-3302 car and the new GAZ-33023 “Farmer”, the second one is distinguished by a smaller cargo platform and a two-row cabin designed for six people. The short platform is due to the fact that the manufacturer did not modify the chassis, but took it from the previous generation, which was designed for a standard single-row cab.
Start of production
Production of a modified long wheelbase version began in 2002. It retained the long cargo platform used on the first models, as well as the extended double-row cabin. Due to this, GAZ-330232 has become very popular among owners of medium and small businesses, various enterprises and the like. This is explained by the fact that the Gorky Automobile Plant managed to combine a minibus with a flatbed truck, and this had a positive effect on the versatility of the vehicle.
The 2002 model also differs from its predecessors in that there is an increased level of comfort, improved driving performance, and a design that the manufacturer has thought through and worked out to the smallest detail, taking into account the rich experience of using cars included in this family.
Restyling
In its original form, the GAZ-330232 truck was produced for only one year. In 2003, the Gorky Automobile Plant restyled the entire family. Starting this year, all models began to be equipped with a modified front bumper, new headlights, a different radiator grille and hood. The headlights used have a teardrop shape and integrated turn indicators, whereas previously these elements were installed separately. Inside the car, the instrument panel has been redesigned, making it more modern, and the heating system, which is now more efficient.
But in addition to these changes, the manufacturer also revised the line of engines installed on both the GAZ-33023 and GAZ-330232. If previously the model was equipped with engines with a carburetor power system ZMZ-406 and UMZ-4215, then since 2003 they have received more advanced options, including Chrysler 2.4, ZMZ-405, UMZ-4216 and GAZ-5602.
The GAZ-5602 brand engine was removed from the line in 2008. This is due to the fact that its repair was quite difficult. Moreover, the cost of spare parts could not be called affordable. These factors influenced the decline in popularity of all modifications equipped with this engine.
In 2010, another restyling took place, as a result of which the GAZ-330232 was quite transformed, but not externally. The design remained without significant changes, but the technical component was equipped with more than 20 seriously modified components.
Of the small improvements that the manufacturer has made to the exterior of the car, it should be noted the appearance of a new bumper combined with a radiator grille. In the painting process, they now began to use other technologies, which had a positive effect on corrosion resistance. First of all, the manufacturer began to apply a special anti-corrosion coating to all metal elements of the model.
Interior improvements
The interior of the GAZ-330232 also had some improvements. The design of the steering wheel has changed, which has become more modern. At the same time, the dashboard was also redesigned. True, the new ones lasted only one year, the rubber dried out and cracked, so we had to change it again. The probable cause of this was a faulty radiator fan, which caused the engine to overheat. The electric motor also had to be replaced. After this, the problem of airing the cooling system arose; I found a hint on the Internet: due to poor-quality antifreeze, the fitting channel to the expansion tank was clogged. Then the battery stopped charging, the generator failed, fortunately there was no need to change it, replacing the pulley and brushes helped.
For some reason, new parts break much more often, it seems that I come across fakes. Well, what can I say, I used to buy spare parts at the auto market, and they sell all sorts of things there. Lately I’ve been trying to purchase parts from an official store that sells parts from the GAZ plant. They are of better quality and last longer. I bought a new GAZ 33023 “Farmer”, the body is 3 meters long, the interior of the car, at first glance, everything is fine. Metallic paint, cost 10 thousand rubles, new panel, front cladding, heated mirrors - they help a lot in the rain. There are changes in the chassis, the brakes are good, power steering, but when the steering wheel is turned quickly, the belt whistles, tensioning did not help. The clutch is soft, the wiper mode is also good, the sides are primed and painted well, but the fastening of the side to the platform is peculiar, when you drive it rattles like a cart, you need to install bushings and a bolt and nut, the option of riveting the side to the platform is not practical. In the cabin, the sound insulation of the floor, ceiling, doors and rear sides is not very good; you will need to finish it yourself. The 4216 (402) engine has passed the stage - before it used a lot of 76-80 gasoline, now 92 gasoline is the same, 18-20 liters per 100 km. In the city it’s definitely 25, we need to supply gas and at least save some money. There are no complaints about the GAZ 33023 gearbox so far; when it’s cold, switching from 1 to 2 is a breeze, then everything is fine after warming up. The mileage is 17 thousand km, I will change the oil soon, but I haven’t driven it in winter yet, I bought it in May 2011. As for the tires, the standard ones are not of very good quality. I kept the pressure - it was still “eight”, balancing didn’t help. The 4216 engine is a “weak”, compared to the 405, it doesn’t drive itself, and also the valve adjustment, knocking every 5000. The headlights are poorly adjusted, securing the protection is inconvenient.

Steering design
There are several types of GAZ car models, all of them included a special awning. In 2006, Gazelles were equipped with a power steering system. The chassis of each Gazelle GAZ-330232 allows you to install a van, the length of which can be a maximum of 4.1 meters. The appearance has become more modern, as has the interior decoration. This model has an optimal balance between reliability and ease of control. If the first quality ensures proper operation of the car even in rather harsh temperature conditions, then the second makes it suitable for use on almost any road surface.
The design has an elongated frame. Thanks to this, the car received a cabin with significantly increased free space and a fairly spacious cargo platform. But, despite such decisions, GAZ-330232 completely retained the style of standard GAZelles.
It is worth noting that Austrian engineers from . Together with Russian specialists, we managed to create a unique mechanism for executing the sides of the platform. Among the key disadvantages of the GAZ-330232 are:
Unreliable grip. As practice shows, various breakdowns occur in the clutch after 50-80 thousand kilometers. As a rule, all malfunctions are associated with the clutch basket and the clutch disc itself;
Low quality paintwork. Despite the fact that the manufacturer has slightly changed the car painting technology, the body still suffers from corrosion. On a new car, after 2-3 years of intensive work, the first signs of corrosion may already appear;
