Its own among automakers. Gurtam at Comtrans 2022

The only IoT zone at the exhibition is located in the center of hall 14, next to Mercedes, MAN, Iveco, Hyundai. The stands of automakers were filled with brand new truck tractors, dump trucks, vans, and reefers - and Gurtam’s partners began to get nervous. After all, there is nothing more painful than looking at equipment that you have not yet connected.

This was the case until the IoT zone was almost destroyed by the flow of visitors. And that's why they came.

Transport security

Avoiding a collision, finding a stolen car, safely parking a 16-meter trailer - these tasks were shared between two Gurtam gold partners.

AVANTERN Telematics specializes in leasing projects on a federal scale. And if they installed a tracker or beacon on the client’s equipment, they will find it in any city in Russia and beyond. At the exhibition they showed the equipment they work with and talked about the most unusual places where stolen cars ended up (for example, in the showroom of an official dealer!).

By the way, AVANTERN implemented the most interesting case at the exhibition - they found two Gurtam employees locked in a truck with a radio beacon. Watch the video without SMS and registration:

Global Position implements comprehensive solutions for transport security. Warning drivers about a collision and creating a system for assessing the quality of driving at the enterprise is the work of Gurtam’s partner from St. Petersburg.

At the Global Position exhibition, driver fatigue monitoring systems, MDVR with artificial intelligence for analyzing the road situation and video solutions for eliminating blind spots on road trains were demonstrated.

“We came to the exhibition to develop the field of transport security. Now companies are beating around the bush, but at the same time everyone understands what it costs to lose cargo, or even worse - human life. Therefore, we have a great desire to develop this particular area - to improve the quality of driving and reduce mortality on the roads,” says Sergei Polyakov , project manager at Global Position.

Economics and business automation

Ladya Telematics creates comprehensive solutions for “smart” quarries, ships, cities and other complex objects. From controlling the light in a hotel room or to monitoring every unit on an oil tanker, Gurtam’s partners from Primorsky Krai have devices and systems of their own design for tasks of any complexity.

At the same time, Ladya Telematics does not simply give the client data. Their programs contain unique algorithms for calculating economic efficiency for each parameter that they control. For example, the client sees not the conditions in which the equipment or unit operates, but how these conditions affect the cost of maintenance. And this is possible on the basis of Wialon.

If there is even a small possibility that a business process can be automated, then Tetron will do it.

  • Wialon shows critical tire wear - the Tetron system orders new ones.
  • Dispatchers make mistakes when processing waybills - Tetron replaces them with a bot.
  • Economic and operational parameters are calculated manually - Tetron offers interfaces for digitalization.

“Wialon helps us solve client problems in a comprehensive manner. We are exhibiting in the Gurtam IoT zone because we see this as a synergy to get the greatest effect. If a customer has technological difficulties that need to be solved in hardware and software, here we solve this problem together, and therefore quickly,” says Leonid Kushnir , CEO of Tetron.

In addition to specialized solutions (we have already written about some in the blog), at Comtrans “Geoservice” for the first time showed their bot for automating business processes. At the exhibition, the chatbot helped company employees by providing presentations, contacts, and cases for the required task. In business, the bot works with clients at the initial stage, creates reports, adds new objects to Wialon and updates data. The developers promise that it will be possible to incorporate any routine that wastes the client’s time.

Last year, Wialon-Service At Comtrans 2022 they were already promoting themselves as a service provider. The company's specialization - fuel control, temperature control and video telematics - is becoming a standard in the monitoring market, so at the Wialon-Service stand they focused on business solutions based on Wialon. Here's what Gurtam partners offer to automate now:

  • Invoicing;
  • Recording of transport operating hours for control centers;
  • Interaction with technical support through the Wialon system interface.

Wialon-Service already has solutions for all this. For everything else, they are the technical specifications of clients and integrators.

Tank semi-trailers

presented an aluminum alloy tank semi-trailer with a volume of 38 thousand liters on a four-axle SAF air spring suspension. This model is designed for transporting gasoline. The semi-trailer is equipped with gasoline vapor recovery and bottom filling systems.

The new tank semi-trailer model 966612 with an innovative thermal insulation system is designed for transporting food liquids. The mechanical engineering developers managed to reduce the curb weight of the tank semi-trailer, which helped increase the volume of transported product, in particular milk, to 25 cubic meters. m.

Turkish manufacturers presented their proposals in this market segment. In particular, Nursan Treyler is not only a tank for transporting fuel, but also a so-called product carrier designed for transporting free-flowing powder materials and food products.

Refrigerated transportation

Carriers of medicines, perishable goods and other heat-sensitive cargo gathered at the Kvarta Technologies . The company joined the Gurtam IoT zone for the second time – again with temperature recorders and the IQ Freeze * mobile application.

When the temperature rises - the ref is broken or the driver turned it off deliberately, trying to save fuel - dispatchers have 5-6 hours to notice and fix it. The developers of IQ Freeze* know this and want to warn about violations immediately, which means giving carriers maximum time to solve the problem.

In secret, at the stand they told about the most expensive cargo that was saved with the help of IQ Freeze*. 50,000,000 rubles !

Wireless technologies

While all hardware manufacturers are moving towards wireless devices, here we will discuss those who are living it.

Escort Group relies on research and development. At the stand there was the largest team, convinced of one thing - “We walk IoT”. The company brought wireless fuel level sensors with TD-BLE technology to the exhibition.

And what propels Escort into the world of IoT is the Sokol-M universal weather station. Although it is being tested in agriculture, it can collect environmental parameters in mining and port services.

For several years now, the Belarusian equipment manufacturer Technoton has been specializing in telematics for complex objects - generators, ships, trains, oil rigs. The stand featured fully autonomous fuel level sensors, axle load sensors, flow meters with a built-in battery and S7 wireless data transmission technology. This means they can simultaneously send data to the Wialon system, to the mobile application, and to the driver’s display. Ideal for a complete solution.

Satellite connection

There was only one satellite communications provider, but this is the case when there is only one warrior in the field. Iridium covered 100% of questions on satellite communications, how their satellites cover 100% of the Earth's surface. Our partners have already been convinced of the reliability of Iridium in Chukotka, and this time the communication provider spoke about the global project. Iridium now has its own broadband network, Iridium Certus. Telemetry, video, voice - all data will be sent to the server, even if you are drifting in the middle of the ocean.

We saw Gurtam’s partners, who are connecting the fishing fleet, at the Iridium stand - perhaps something interesting is planned. We'll keep you posted.

New terminals and solutions from manufacturers

GalileoSky thought “we have Easy Logic, let’s make an “easy connection””. And they succeeded. At the exhibition, the manufacturer showed programmable OBD trackers with support for Easy Logic and driving style control. So the equipment operation algorithms prescribed by the integrator can end up in the car in less than a minute.

According to the results of a survey we conducted in the IoT zone, 99.5% of service providers work with the CAN bus. GalileoSky makes this task easier for them and presented a scanner for decoding CAN data at the exhibition. GalileoSky specialists not only showed what data can be obtained from an on-board computer, but also how to teach the tracker to respond to changes in CAN parameters using Easy Logic.

Teltonika is No. 1 in the GPS Hardware Manufacturers TOP 10 rating. At Comtrans 2019, the manufacturer showed new devices with support for 3G, 4G and CAT-M1 networks, a miniature CAN reader and industrial network routers.

What you can't touch is the new Connectivity service. For the duration of the contract, Teltonika offers a fixed data cost and a platform for administering SIM cards.

For the Navtelecom , they managed to release SIGNAL S-2652, a tracker for which carriers of passengers and dangerous goods were lining up. They wanted to pick up the device and hear the main words, “complies with PP No. 153.”

Working with CAN is one of the most noticeable trends at the exhibition. At Comtrans 2022, Navtelecom showed trackers that do not need a special adapter to read CAN data. Everything becomes simpler. The second trend is our own software. Navtelecom has applications for diagnostics, configuration and remote control of trackers.

Satellite Solutions trackers have been updated! Manufacturers have simplified the choice for customers and presented three trackers for any task in the satellite monitoring market.

  • The first terminal is for basic monitoring;
  • The second is for complex ones, including driving style control, two-way voice communication or reading data from CAN;
  • The third is personal with the ability to connect to the cigarette lighter.

We'll see how this approach works, but in any case we wish Satellite Solutions good luck.

Ivan Glonassov collected all the equipment - from exhibitors and those who were not included in the Gurtam IoT zone - at his stand. There were programmable BCE trackers, tire pressure and temperature monitoring systems, beacons and much more. So even if the manufacturer was not physically present at the stand, his devices were in good hands through Ivana. It’s interesting that we have never seen him next to Anna Glonassova. We hope they didn't have a fight.

“We are glad that it was here, at the Comtrans exhibition, that the only IoT zone was organized for the first time. We are surrounded by serious automakers - Volvo, Mercedes, Scania, Iveco - and when people come to understand the automotive topic, they can immerse themselves in the IoT space,” sums up Alexander Kuvshinov , Director of the Wialon Division.

We are now analyzing the results of the exhibition and are expecting a boom in connections. We thank all participants in the IoT zone - without you this would not have happened! But it’s too early for the four companies to relax – great things await you. Navtelecom, GalileoSky, Escort - see you in the Gurtam IoT zone in Dubai. “Technoton” – don’t forget, we are going to Los Angeles together!

"Robots"

In response to these challenges, Volvo Trucks has developed a revolutionary solution: the autonomous electric vehicle. The transport solution of the future from Volvo Trucks is designed for regular and repetitive tasks that require relatively short distances, large volumes of cargo and high delivery accuracy. The solution does not require special road infrastructure or loading facilities, which makes it easier to recoup costs and integrate into existing processes. Mercedes-Benz Vans and Renault LCV have prepared something similar.

Thus, the concept from Mercedes-Benz Vans is based on a self-driving chassis on electric traction, on top of which various interchangeable bodies can be installed - for transporting passengers or transporting goods. As a ridesharing vehicle, the Vision URBANETIC is capable of carrying up to 12 passengers, and in combination with a cargo module, it can transport up to 10 Euro pallets. In addition, this concept involves the integration of IT infrastructure, resulting in the formation of a fleet of unmanned vehicles, the routes of which are planned flexibly and efficiently, based on the current demand for transportation.

The EZ-PRO robot module from Renault consists of an autonomous master module and unmanned robot modules. Since humans will remain at the center of transportation for the foreseeable future, the Renault EZ-PRO is not fully automated.

In the leading module of EZ-PRO there is a forwarder who controls the delivery of goods and services and monitors the convoy. Since he is not required to directly drive the vehicle, the freight forwarder can focus on improving and optimizing the workflow. Unmanned robotic modules either follow each other, forming a column, or move independently.
