  1. Replacing standard fasteners with powerful steel ones with a thick steel plate on the base.
  2. Moving the tank onto the loading platform or into the space between the cabin and the hold.

Both options are technically simple and do not require approval from the traffic police.

Step-by-step instruction

The hydraulic lifting mechanism that the UAZ will be equipped with consists of several components: a semi-frame, a subframe, an electrically driven hydraulic pump, a hydraulic crane, an oil tank, a hydraulic cylinder and high-pressure oil lines.

Half frame, subframe, hydraulic cylinder

Let's start with the half frame, it is needed to install the body. It is this that allows the body to tip over.

The half-frame consists of two parts. One part is rigidly fixed to the UAZ frame. By means of pin hinges on one side it is connected to the second part, to which the loading platform is attached.

It is better to make the longitudinal beams of both half-frames from T-beams and I-beams, and position them so that the upper part of the folded beams rests on the beams of the lower part of the half-frame.

The lower part of the semi-frame is strengthened with cross members. The top one, in addition to the crossbars, should also have transverse projections on the sides, which will provide support for the cargo platform along its entire width.

At the end where the pin hinges will be located, lugs are attached to the parts of the semi-frames, which must match with their holes. The pins will need to be installed in these holes, and they will need to be secured in the holes to prevent them from falling out.

To connect the half-frame structure, you can use welded joints, but it is better to secure the lower part of the half-frame to the car frame using bolted connections.

The second ball joint is the lower one, fixed to the subframe. This subframe should be in the shape of a bracket. This shape is made so that the hydraulic cylinder, when folded, does not interfere with the complete lowering of the body and the landing of the upper part of the semi-frame on the lower part. The dimensions and method of fastening the hydraulic cylinder subframe are selected experimentally. After this, the hydraulic cylinder is installed in place.

Hydraulic pump, its drive and control valve

Next we move on to the hydraulic pump and its drive.
Most often, the pump is NSh-10, from MTZ-80. Its performance is quite sufficient for the operation of a hydraulic cylinder. There are several pump drives, so we will describe the simplest one, namely from the starter. To do this, a starter from MTZ-80 is taken and slightly modified to allow operation for a long time. Next you need to connect the starter shaft to the pump shaft. To do this, you can use the hinge from the steering of any passenger car. Next, the starter and pump are fixed on the platform to prevent them from moving relative to each other.

The pump and drive are fixed to the cross member of the car frame, so as to prevent their damage. Then the wiring is thrown from the car’s battery to the starter, making sure to include a switch in the circuit.

An oil tank is also attached to the frame of the car; a volume of 10 liters will be enough. Then the lines are connected from the oil tank to the pump, and from it to the hydraulic cylinder.

All-terrain vehicle - produced by the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant since 1985. The new car replaced the UAZ 452D.

The 3303rd has been released to date. There are two modern modifications.

The truck cab is all-metal. Two people can comfortably fit inside. The car is equipped with single-leaf side doors and a removable engine compartment hood. Platform 3303 can be different, depending on the modification: made of wood or metal.

Regarding the changes, I would like to give a more detailed description:

  • Version 3303 is often called a passenger car. These small, light commercial models were designed to transport various agricultural products, such as milk.

  • The next modification is distinguished by an already enlarged step. In this case, the platform may consist of boards or metal;

The range of engines installed on the UAZ 3303 is, as a rule, limited to two gasoline power plants with a volume of 2.4 and 2.8 liters.

Metal body 3303

The first UAZ 3303 is an all-wheel drive vehicle, proven over the years and on national roads, which can easily deliver various loads on any type of road and even completely off-road. Incredible maneuverability, extraordinary simplicity, ease of maintenance - all this applies to this machine.

Principle of operation

The whole structure works like this: when it is necessary to lift the body, the driver moves the valve to a position that ensures oil flow only in one direction and turns on the power to the pump drive. The pump takes oil from the tank and supplies it under pressure to the hydraulic cylinder. When the body is fully raised, the power to the pump drive is turned off. The crane will not allow the body to lower under its own weight, since it does not allow oil to return. The body is lowered by moving the valve to the oil reverse position, the pressure in the hydraulic cylinder drops and the oil flows back into the tank, and the body lowers down under its own weight. Progress of work on the manufacture of a metal body for UAZ 3303

I dismantled a wooden box from a disused GAZ-52 gait. The frame was wooden, covered with tin, but the frame was channel 8.

dimensions of the platform of the future body: 233x168 I cut out the channel joints with a grinder:

The boards are assembled from a 3x3x0.2 profile pipe, i.e. I chose the side dimensions of 162.5x44 for the front and back and 232x44 for the sides (I assumed a height of 42, but was mistaken by 2 cm), let it be 44 cm.

I had to redo the pre-assembled front side and shorten its length, since there were still locks on the wooden sides. (The factory metal UAZ body has a full-size front panel due to a different lock design).

Then a snag arose and you wondered how to install these same locks? Having learned nothing useful from the Internet about installing locks, I installed them with tacks and watched what happened. It turned out well (now I can’t decide: should I weld it firmly or will it be the same with the bolts?

Having calculated the finances, how much it will cost to buy awnings in a hardware store and thinking about the topic: how after GPS or crushed stone the sides will close with small gaps (we recently brought projections to a VAZ 2104 with a body, quickly dumped it with a shovel and swept away particles of gravel from the cracks between the sides and the bottom, well they didn’t want to close it. I made another irrevocable decision: I cut and welded my canopies from a wooden frame.

We decided to make canopies from waste paper. I took a three-quarter pipe, cut 3 cm, cut it to length, reduced the radius, welded it to pieces of metal cut from the side shed, welded it to the pile and, having examined the product, was satisfied:

And as always at this stage, I thought: in order to weld the metal to the frame, how to rivet the front panel? (advantages of rivets - folding option, welding - difficult to disassemble).
