Electric minibus

There are also no headrests or armrests - after all, this is a city minibus.

The sound of the engine is not audible in the cabin, but various creaks and “crickets” are still present in this car.

Driver's cabin

The driver is provided with a comfortable seat, covered with fabric, with the ability to adjust the seat height. The chair also moves back and forth on a slide. As drivers note, the seat on the Next has become much more comfortable than on the old GAZelles. This helps reduce fatigue when driving.

Due to the high seating position in the car, visibility is excellent. The mirrors are quite informative. However, they can only be adjusted manually. The steering wheel is four-spoke, with adjustment, as on all Nexts. The front panel is no different. The only exception is the trip computer, which comes here as standard.

Bus "GAZelle Next": technical characteristics

Under the hood of this car there is a non-alternative Cummins engine, which is produced in China under an American license. The same engine is also installed on GAZelle truck modifications. With a volume of 2.8 liters, this engine develops 121 horsepower. At the same time, the engine is distinguished by direct Common Rail injection and the presence of turbocharging with an intercooler (this is an intercooler of charge air). The car's torque is 270 Nm in the range from one and a half to three thousand revolutions per minute.

This unit is paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Finally, its lever was moved to the front panel. The clutch of the box is dry, single-disc. Maximum speed is 110 kilometers per hour. Fuel consumption in the urban cycle is 12.5 liters, judging by the passport data. But as reviews note, the GAZelle Next bus consumes a little more. So, in the city the car spends about 14 liters of diesel. And in winter, consumption increases to 16 liters.

Chassis

The car is built on the chassis of the GAZelle Next truck, so the design is based on a frame with several cross members. The drive is carried out only on the rear axle. The key difference from the previous Ruta is the presence of an independent spring suspension. Let us recall that previously a pivot beam was installed in front, with two leaf springs on each side. The bus now has a spring suspension with wishbones. A stabilizer bar also appeared at the front.

At the rear there is a classic axle with two semi-elliptic springs and a suspension. The rear also uses a transverse stabilizer. Double-acting hydraulic shock absorbers.
