The T-25A wheeled universal tractor began to be produced in 1966, and these machines, improved over the years, still operate both on large farms and on very small private farms. This model has many advantages.
It is maneuverable (suitable even for small plots and greenhouses), economical, has small dimensions, but at the same time it works with almost any attachment and performs a very wide range of agricultural operations, gives high productivity indicators, and is easy to repair right in the field. In addition, it is one of the most environmentally friendly modes of transport.
It is also important that the price of the T-25A is several times lower than that of similar tractors of this class. Thus, the combination of a relatively low price, good technical capabilities and ease of use is the key to the wide popularity of this model for more than 40 years.
Tractor T25 (Vladimirets)
Among Soviet small tractors, the T25 occupies a special place. It was mass-produced at the Kharkov Tractor Plant from 1966 to 1972. Then all rights to manufacture this machine were transferred to the Vladimir Tractor Plant. This is where the second name of this technique came from – Vladimirets. During the design, the experience and errors made during the design of the DT-20 were taken into account. The developers were able to make this car economical and maneuverable.
Tractor T-25
Despite its small overall dimensions, the T25 tractor belongs to the 0.6 traction class. These characteristics are sufficient for most agricultural work: plowing prepared soils, hilling crops and transporting medium-weight loads on towed devices. The T-25 tractor is currently being actively sold through online platforms. On many websites you can find advertisements for the sale of Polish mini tractors, the price of which is much lower.
However, you should not rush to buy them. Polish cars must undergo customs clearance. In this case, their cost will be approximately equal to the offers of domestic sellers. Therefore, it is easier to buy a used version for about $3000-5000.
Farmers' favorite
Some features of the tractor turned out to be so important for those working in agriculture, especially in vegetable growing, that the tractor remains a favorite of farmers to this day.
An undoubted advantage of the T-25 model is the ability to adjust the track and ground clearance, as well as the longitudinal base. The tractor track can be changed within 1100-1500 mm with an interval of 50 mm. Ground clearance - from 308 to 515 mm with a corresponding change in the longitudinal base. With a decrease in the longitudinal base, the maneuverability of the machine increases, and with an increase, the longitudinal stability of the tractor increases, and this allows it to work with fairly heavy attachments. Another feature of the T-25 tractor is the ability to reconfigure it to operate in reverse.
The T-25 can work and move at both high speeds and extremely low speeds, which are required by some machines, such as a potato digger. The tractor is compatible with almost any attachment: single-row vegetable digger, field sprayer, planting machine, tiller, mower, plow, even brushes and snow removal rotor.

Tractor T-25A
Overall dimensions of Vladimirets: length 3110 mm, width 1370 mm, height 2500 mm. The T25A modification weighs the same and has similar overall dimensions.
Models and modifications
The T-25 tractor was produced in two varieties, which differed in the size of the rear wheel tires installed: T-25 C1 had rear wheel tires measuring 9-32″, T-25 C2 had rear tires measuring 10-28″. Depending on the nature of the work, each of these two models can be converted into one of the following modifications.
In the low version, the tractor works in gardens and forest areas. In this case, the final drive is installed horizontally: the drive wheels are turned forward along the tractor, and the axles of the front wheels are moved to the upper position. In this modification, the longitudinal base of the tractor is 1423 mm, and the ground clearance is 308 mm. If it is necessary to increase the stability of the tractor unit, the final drive can be moved backward along the tractor. In this case, the longitudinal base will be equal to 1837 mm.
The high modification is intended for inter-row cultivation of garden crops. In this modification, the final drive is mounted vertically, with the large gear wheel down, and the front wheel axles are set in the lower position. The longitudinal wheelbase in this modification is 1630 mm, and the ground clearance is 575 mm.
In the semi-garden, or garden low, modification, the final drive is mounted at an angle of 45° to the drive wheels, back along the tractor, and the front wheels are installed in an intermediate position. At the same time, the tractor has a longitudinal base of 1775 mm, and ground clearance - 455 mm. Tractors leave the factory in this modification, which is considered the main (basic).
In some cases, when good visibility is required, the tractor can be converted to operate in reverse. To do this, the seat is moved to the opposite side and installed on the back of the hood, the steering wheel is moved to the front inclined tail, the tires of the drive wheels are placed in a position in which the arrows located on them would correspond to the direction of movement of the tractor. The track of the front wheels is changed by moving the steering knuckle housings of the wheels apart by the required amount. The tie rod is moved apart accordingly. The track of the rear wheels is adjusted by moving the discs and wheel rims to different positions.
On the basis of the T-25 tractor, the T-25K high-clearance tractor was created, intended for inter-row cultivation of tall crops. It has a ground clearance of 1500 mm and a track of 2800 mm. The machine is raised above the ground level on the front and rear wheel stands. The rear wheels are driven by chains located in the racks.
Such a machine can be obtained directly on the farm from a conventional T-25 tractor by converting it with the installation of additional components: elongated rear wheel sleeves, front and rear wheel struts, front balancer. After completing work on processing tall crops, the special equipment can be removed and the tractor can be used in its usual form.
In the process of improving the design, the T-30A80 model was developed, which differs from its predecessor in the engine (D-120), all-wheel drive, hydrostatic steering, and a more comfortable cabin.

Maintenance

Required oils:
- Change the engine oil every 240 hours of operation. The best replacement would be the Soviet M-10G2k or M-10V2.
- Hydraulic oil must be changed after 500 operating hours. For the hydraulic system, you can use any universal STOU type oil.
- Transmission oil must be replaced only once at the beginning of seasonal work. It is recommended to use Soviet Tap-15V or TAD-17i as a fresh lubricant.
Basic malfunctions and ways to eliminate them
The engine will not start:
- The required crankshaft starting frequency is not provided;
- The fuel system or air filters are clogged;
- Malfunction of the fuel pump;
- Incorrect injection advance angle setting;
- Poor quality fuel (in this case, diesel fuel enters the engine, but it cannot start due to a lack of octane number or the presence of mechanical impurities);
- Carbon deposits have formed on the injectors.
T-25 engine
The T-25 tractor is equipped with a D-21 diesel engine, four-stroke, compressor-free, air-cooled. This is a two-cylinder model from a family of air-cooled diesel engines developed at Volzhsky Plant under the leadership of V.V. Efros. These diesel engines have many parts unified: the crank mechanism (piston, connecting rod, piston rings, connecting rod and main bearings), the gas distribution mechanism (with the exception of the camshaft), cylinders and cylinder heads.
The engine operates with compression ignition and direct injection of fuel into the combustion chamber located at the crown of the piston. It starts on diesel fuel with an electric starter and develops a power of 20 hp. at 1600 rpm.
To balance the engine and eliminate vibration, a special mechanism is provided, which is a roller with counterweights attached to it. The cylinders are arranged vertically. The engine is equipped with a single-plunger distribution-type pump with an all-mode regulator. The nozzle is pinless, closed, with a multi-hole nozzle. Diesel fuel is cleaned in a coarse settling filter, followed by fine cleaning in a filter with a replaceable element made of filter paper or brooch yarn.
The air entering the engine passes through a three-stage air cleaner. Combined lubrication system: under pressure and splashing. The pressure in the oil line is created by a gear pump, which is driven by the crankshaft. The oil is purified in a full-flow jet centrifuge. Air cooling, forced. The fan is axial, mounted on the same shaft as the generator.
Seasonal thermal regulation using a removable disk. When starting the engine, a glow plug and a decompressor mechanism are used. The engine is equipped with a spark arrestor muffler.

- The T-25A2 has only a protective awning, although it provides the possibility of installing a closed cockpit.
- The T-25A3 is distinguished by the presence of a safety cage that protects the operator from injury in the event of an accident. In addition, some technical tuning of the tractor was carried out.
