The beginning of the production of Galician truck cranes dates back to 1982, when, by order of the USSR government, it was repurposed as a truck crane. The machine received its own name, often indicated on the boom next to the alphanumeric index, from the location of the enterprise. Description

In different years of production, the Galichanin crane was mounted on the chassis of KrAZ, MAZ, Ural and KamAZ vehicles. The control allows you to vary the speed over a wide range, as well as simultaneously combine two crane operations. Customers highly appreciated the cranes, which are mounted on KamAZ chassis, for their good maneuverability, a wide selection of spare parts and the ability to travel on city roads, which significantly expands the range of construction sites. The KamAZ automobile engine is unpretentious in maintenance and meets all environmental standards. It is easy to repair, which, in turn, minimizes crane downtime. Based on KamAZ, the plant offers models with a carrying capacity from 25 to 50 tons.

Truck crane "Galichanin" KS-55729-1B - 32 tons

The KS-55729-1V automobile jib crane with a lifting capacity of 32 tons is mounted on the chassis of a KamAZ-6540 vehicle. The crane installation is driven by two axial piston hydraulic pumps, which are driven by the engine of the base vehicle through a gearbox and an additional power take-off. The crane mechanisms have an individual drive with independent control from hydraulic motors and hydraulic cylinders. The hydraulic system of the crane installation provides smooth control of all mechanisms with a wide range of speed control for working operations, as well as the ability to simultaneously combine up to two crane operations. At the JSC GAKZ enterprise, innovative developments are being introduced into the design and manufacturing technology of Galicianin brand truck cranes with a lifting capacity of 32 tons. The booms of the KS-55729 series truck cranes are assembled from metal structures manufactured in Germany using the most modern technologies using high-strength Weldox steel. The new boom sections consist of two bent “trough” profiles, welded using two butt seams, which significantly increases the strength of the booms and minimizes their weight. The length of the boom in the retracted position is 9.6 m, providing the crane with compactness and maneuverability when moving, and in the fully extended position, it is 30.2 m, allowing it to achieve a large working area and a large height of movement of the load during operation. Additional equipment of the boom with a 9 m long jib allows for the largest service area and the size of the underboom space. The ability to install the jib at 0 and 30 degrees relative to the boom provides additional benefits. To expand the scope of application, the crane is equipped with an additional removable counterweight weighing 2.4 tons. This makes it possible to significantly increase the cargo-height characteristics at medium and long ranges, bringing them very close to those of 50-ton cranes, and also increase the maximum reach to 27 meters. The removable counterweight is mounted without the use of additional lifting equipment and human resources, and is transported as part of the crane. The ability to telescope a boom with a load on a hook allows the crane to perform special tasks: installing loads in hard-to-reach places, carrying them among mounted structures. For the convenience of working in cramped conditions, a mode for working with loads is provided with the installation of the crane on supports with the outrigger beams retracted. The gearbox of the mechanisms for lifting loads and turning the crane is of a planetary type with disc brakes, which meets modern requirements for load-lifting machines. Many crane components use imported components that do not require replacement or repair over the entire service life of the crane. An imported autonomous diesel heater is used to heat the crane operator's cabin. Safe operation of the crane is ensured by a complex of instruments and devices, including a microprocessor load limiter with digital indication of operating parameters on the display in the driver’s cabin. The device automatically protects the crane from overload and capsizing, is equipped with a crane coordinate protection system necessary for working in cramped conditions, has a built-in telemetric memory unit (“black box”) and a crane protection module from dangerous voltage (MZON) for working near power lines.

Modifications of truck cranes

The plant's line of models began with a carrying capacity of 16 tons. Such cars were produced during the years of the collapse of the Union. Russian production began at 20 tons, then changed to 25 tons, but development does not stop. The use of a Volvo chassis and close cooperation with Belarusian developers made it possible to produce a truck crane with a maximum lifting capacity of 100 tons.

Models have different technical characteristics, differ in boom length, ability to work in hard-to-reach places and the presence of additional crane equipment. An interesting feature of some of the plant’s developments is the ability to install an additional counterweight in the kit, which allows you to expand the scope of application of the crane. Other models

The creation of the Galician 70 tons went on knurled rails: the version described above had already been created. Therefore, this crane did not receive any special innovations. The boom is the same length, it can be extended.

But the base cars for this version were different. For example, model KS-74721-2 Galician H&H. For its production, a Belarusian chassis with a 10x6 wheel arrangement was used. Three axles are located under the crane part. Automotive drive - for all three. Additional letters of the name describe the control system. A German digital panel developed by special order of the plant is installed in the crane operator’s cabin.

This model was removed from the product catalog, but the plant also had another one: Galician 80 tons. It is based on the same 5-axle Belarusian chassis, the boom is 48 m long, and there is no possibility of extension. Load moment - 283 t.m.

100-ton versions are also produced on five axles. This is the upper limit of the products offered by the plant. Boom - 51 m with the possibility of extension up to 69 m; chassis - Volvo or MZKT; load moment - 355 t.m.

For particularly difficult construction conditions, the plant's engineers proposed the KC-59713-14T truck crane, where T stands for tractor chassis. The machine has a caterpillar drive and is based on the TL-5ALM forestry tractor. The main numbers indicate a lifting capacity of 25 tons. The boom is 23.6 m long, it is possible to extend it in single file up to 9 m. The load moment developed by the model is 85 t.m.

The USA-2 model based on the KS-55729-5M became a universal soldier. The customer is offered a 32-ton crane, a diesel hammer for driving piles and a pair of cargo winches. All components necessary for operation of any option are included in the delivery set.

In addition to truck cranes, the plant can offer other products. For example, KMU-150 Galician. This is a loader crane that can be mounted either on trucks or separately. The properties of this model include ease of installation and the ability to be installed on a flatbed truck, while the latter does not lose its ability to transport cargo.

The handling unit is mounted in the dead zone, between the cab and the body. In most cases, it has the ability to rotate the hook 360°. The plant offers several KamAZ flatbed trucks with a manipulator already installed, as well as a special model with an installation cradle instead of a cargo suspension.

Advantages and disadvantages of technology

Repair of the Galician truck crane can be carried out in specialized centers located in different regions of Russia. If the crane operates in the Moscow, Yaroslavl or Kostroma region, you don’t have to look for a point, but contact the manufacturer directly. The plant has a service center for its products, where, taking into account the features and technical characteristics of the machine, they will do everything necessary to ensure that the crane operates for as long as possible and brings profit to the customer.

The advantages of Galichanin cranes include the following characteristics:

  1. In production, all modern developments and GOSTs that exist in crane and lifting equipment are taken into account.

The disadvantages many users include:

  1. Turbocharged engine. In a truck crane, most of the time the engine rotates idle; the turbine only wastes fuel.
  2. When creating the junior models of the line, the developers tried to save money wherever possible. This led to certain shortcomings. For example, on 25 tonne cranes with a 21 m boom, the front telescopic legs are located almost next to the slewing platform. This limits the turning radius.
  3. The absence of mudguards under the panel leads to rapid corrosion.
  4. Many people note that the Galician is assembled on a chassis platform, while the Ivanovets is one with the car.

Price

The cost of a Galician consists of several components:

  • chassis;
  • load capacity;
  • boom length (if there are several options).

A crane based on the Urals will cost less than a similar model based on KamAZ. A 25-ton crane with a boom length of 21 m will cost almost 2 times less than the same one, but with a boom length of 40 m. The Volvo chassis will be more expensive than the MZKT, the KamAZ will be cheaper.

According to the manufacturer’s price lists, the cost of the basic configuration of the Galician starts from 7.5 thousand rubles.
