Truck crane KS-4574 and its performance characteristics

The KS-4574 crane with a lifting capacity of 16 tons is mounted on the chassis of a Kamaz-53213 vehicle, equipped with a three-section telescopic boom of 9.7 m, which, when the sections are extended, is extended to 21.7 m. The middle section, extended to increase the length of the boom to 11.7 m, is fixed working equipment locking mechanism. The drive of the KS-4574 automotive crane is hydraulic from two pumps operating from a power take-off with two output shafts. The first pump powers the hydraulic cylinders of the outriggers, stabilizer, extension of the outrigger beams, as well as the hydraulic motor for rotating the turntable and the hydraulic cylinders for extending the telescopic boom sections. The second pump drives the mechanisms on the turntable, where the cargo winch, boom lift hydraulic cylinder and air conditioning drive unit are located. The KS-4574 truck crane is capable of performing work operations and movement, blocking the rear axle suspension, extending and hanging outriggers, raising and lowering the telescopic boom, rotating the turntable, lifting and lowering the load, extending and retracting the middle and head sections of the boom. It is possible to combine a number of working movements: lifting (lowering) a load with raising (lowering) the boom, lifting (lowering) a load with rotation of the turntable, extending boom sections with lifting (lowering) it. When performing working movements, it is necessary to prevent overloading of hydraulic equipment with rupture of pipelines and hydraulic equipment housings, for which the control handles are moved from one position to another smoothly with the obligatory holding them in a neutral position. The KS-4574 jib truck crane is equipped with retractable hydraulic supports, which can be installed in the fully extended and retracted positions. The truck-mounted crane has a single driver's cabin with an adjustable seat, an opening top window, a windshield wiper, a heating and defogging system, air conditioning, a fan and a sun visor. Safety devices are provided: cargo winch hook lift limiter, rope winding limiter, load limiter, dangerous voltage alarm, crane tilt angle indicators. When using the KS-4574 truck crane, the following operational restrictions are established: Maximum load capacity, t - 16.0 Maximum load moment, kNm - 63.0 Maximum reach when working with a telescopic boom, m - 21.0 Maximum reach when working with a telescopic boom and in single file, m — 30.0 Minimum reach when working with a telescopic boom, m — 1.9 Minimum reach when working with a telescopic boom and jib, m — 9.0 Maximum lifting height when working with a telescopic boom, m — 22.72 Maximum lifting height when working with a telescopic boom and jib, m - 32.5 Ambient temperature range at which the KS-4574 crane is allowed to operate, °C: - maximum - plus 40 - minimum - minus 40 Minimum ambient temperature at which it is allowed storage of the crane in an open area, °C, not lower than - minus 50 Conditions of storage and transportation in terms of exposure to environmental climatic factors (according to GOST 15150-69) - 7 Maximum wind speed at a height of 10 m for the operating condition of the crane, m/s, no more than — 14 Maximum wind speed at a height of 10 m for the operating state of the crane (with a reduction in load capacity by 10%), m/s, no more than — 20 Maximum wind speed at a height of 10 m for the transport state of the crane, m/s, no more — 40 Angle of inclination of the working platform, degree, no more than — 3 Angle of inclination of the crane to the horizon when working with loads, degree, no more than — 1.5 Permissible specific loads of the soil of the working platform, MPa (kgf/cm2), no less than — 0, 2 (2.0) Acceptable combination of work operations when operating the KS-4574 crane: - Lifting (lowering) the load and rotating the turntable; — Raising (lowering) the telescopic boom and rotating the turntable — Extending (retracting) boom sections and rotating the turntable Number of outriggers on which the crane must be installed — 4 Highest transport speed of the crane, km/h — 60 Highest transport speed of the crane (with the jib installed in the transport position), km/h - 60 Maximum transport speed of the crane in tow, km/h - 40 Maximum power consumed in crane mode by the crane unit, kW (hp), no more than - 70 ( 96) Maximum load of the outrigger on the base of the working platform, kN (tf), no more - front - 189.0 (21.11) - rear - 183.0 (18.67) Permissible specific loads of the soil of the working platform on which the crane can be installed on outriggers without the use of wooden pads under the thrust bearings, MPa (kgf/cm2), not less than - 1.54 (15.4) Slope overcome by the crane, degrees, not more than - 14 Service life of the crane before decommissioning, years, not less - 10 Technical characteristics of the KS-4574-1 truck crane Boom length, m - 9.7/15.7 Reach, m: - smallest - 2.9-3.9/4-4.2 - largest - 8/14 Load capacity , t, at reach: - minimum - 20/10 - maximum - 4.2/1.2 Lifting height, m: - at minimum reach - 10.5/16 - at maximum reach - 4/5 Load lifting and lowering speed , m/min — 0.3-12/0.3-24 Travel speed of the KS-4574 truck crane, km/h — 50 Rotation speed of the turning part, min — 0.3-2.2 Rear clearance, m — 3.4 Make of the base car - Kamaz-53213 Vehicle chassis engine power, kW - 156 Fuel consumption, l/h - 9 Wheel track, m: - front - 2.026 - rear - 1.856 Distance between outriggers, m: - along the longitudinal axis - 4, 8 - across the longitudinal axis - 4.8 Dimensions in transport position, m: - length - 12 - width - 2.5 - height - 3.55 Axle load, kN: - front - 46.5 - rear - 2x82.45 Crane weight in transport position, t - 24.5

Installation of the KS-4574 crane on outriggers Installation of the truck crane on outriggers is carried out from the transport position at a minimum idle speed of the chassis engine. The procedure for installing the KS-4574 crane on outriggers is as follows: - check the air pressure in the chassis brake system (air pressure in the brake system must be at least 0.62 MPa); — turn on the landing gear parking brake; — turn on the low gear of the gearbox divider; — turn on the gearbox neutral; — depress the clutch pedal; — turn on the power take-off switch; — check that the power take-off is turned on by illuminating the warning light on the instrument panel in the driver’s cabin; — Smoothly release the clutch pedal. - turn off the lock on each of the four outriggers of the crane - pull the lock handle towards you, then turn it and place it on the stop; — pull out the handle of the three-way valve, directing the flow of working fluid from the pump to the hydraulic distributor; — move the handle from the neutral position to the lower position to extend the crane outriggers; — after all four outriggers are fully extended, return the handle to the neutral position; — install a thrust bearing under each hydraulic support of the crane, and, if necessary, wooden supports; — install the crane on outriggers — move the handles from the neutral to the lower position; — by extending the rods of the hydraulic supports, achieve a position in which a gap is formed between the wheels of the chassis and the working platform (check the separation of the wheels from the working platform visually); — fix each thrust bearing on the rod of the corresponding hydraulic support with a pin. Transferring the KS-4574-1 crane from transport to working position Transferring the KS-4574 truck crane from transport to working position is carried out in the following sequence: - install the crane on outriggers; — in the driver’s cabin, switch the control to the crane operator’s cabin with a switch; — direct the flow of working fluid from the pump to the hydraulic equipment of the rotating part of the crane by moving the handle of the three-way valve to the upper position; — move the ladder to the working position to climb onto the non-rotating part of the truck crane; — unlock the door of the crane operator’s cabin with the key and open it; — sit on the crane operator’s seat, adjust the seat to the required parameters of the crane operator; — use the switch on the instrument panel in the crane operator’s cabin to turn on the power supply to the electrical circuit of the rotating part of the crane and the load limiter; — when turning on the load limiter of the KS-4574 truck crane, as well as when checking and entering the crane’s operating configuration into the load limiter, you should be guided by the relevant sections on the operation of the ONK-160S-53.09 crane load limiter, which is included in the set of crane operational documents; — using the appropriate joysticks, release the tension of the cargo rope and release the hook suspension from engagement; — working with the appropriate joysticks, raise the boom above the support stand, and the hook suspension above the driver’s cabin and the superstructure parts on the chassis frame, preventing it from swinging and touching them. Changing the multiplicity of the cargo pulley Changing the multiplicity of the cargo pulley must be performed in the following sequence: - by turning on the lifting mechanism, raise the hook suspension to a height at which the distance between the boom head and the hook suspension is 1.5-2 m; — lower the boom to a position that provides access to the boom head of the KS-4574. In this case, the hook suspension should lower to the working platform. To provide access to the boom head, it is possible to further extend the boom section; - remove the cotter pin from the axle, remove the washer and remove the axle; - remove the clamp from the rope; — knock out the wedge from the wedge holder and remove the rope from the wedge holder; — re-reposit the cargo rope in accordance with the selected multiplicity of the cargo pulley and the rope reeving scheme. In this case, it is also necessary, when reeving the cargo rope six times, to insert the last two branches of the pulley into the brackets of the load of the lift height limiter, and with a single reeving, to insert the branch of the cargo rope into the brackets, rearranged on one side of the load; - secure the end of the rope in the wedge cage using a wedge, which must be driven into the wedge cage along with the rope, and install the clamp; — secure the wedge clip to the auxiliary hook suspension (for single rope reeving) or the KS-4574 boom head (for six and four times rope reeving), using an axle, washer and cotter pin; — wrap the rope with a working load; — check the correct operation of the lift height limiter. — when working in cramped conditions or near power lines, it is necessary to introduce restrictions in accordance with the instructions in the Operating Manual for the load limiter of the ONK-160S-53.09 crane. Transferring the rotating part of the KS-4574 truck crane to the transport position The procedure for transferring the KS-4574-1 truck crane to the transport position is as follows: - if replaceable working equipment is installed on the boom, then it must be installed in the transport position or removed from the crane; — install the boom along the longitudinal axis of the crane; — operating the appropriate joysticks in the crane operator’s cabin, lower the hook suspension in front of the chassis driver’s cabin; — completely retract all sections of the KS-4574 boom; — lower the boom onto the support stand; — secure the hook suspension in front of the chassis driver’s cab; — remove the ignition key in the crane operator’s cabin; — turn off the power to the electrical circuit of the rotating part of the crane; — get out of the crane operator’s cabin, close it and lock it with the key. Transferring the fixed part of the KS-4574 crane to the transport position The procedure for removing the KS-4574-1 truck crane from the outriggers is as follows: - transfer the rotating part of the crane to the transport position; — direct the flow of working fluid from the pump to the lower hydraulic distributor by moving the handle to the lower position; — by operating the handles, fully retract all hydraulic supports; — use the handle to completely retract the outriggers, then return the handle to the neutral position; — lock all outriggers with clamps, for which it is necessary to turn the handle of each clamp and set it to the lower position; — install all thrust bearings and wooden supports in the transport position on the support frame; — turn off the power take-off switch; — turn off the gearbox neutral; — turn off the low gear of the gearbox divider; — use the instrument switch to disable the control in the crane operator’s cabin.

Brake system

Unlike most of its predecessors, the KrAZ-250 received a more efficient braking system. Each wheel has a drum-type brake, to which a dual-circuit pneumatic drive is connected. The first circuit acts on the braking system of the intermediate and front axles, while the second provides braking to the rear axle. Since this type of special equipment is used in conditions of extremely low temperatures, the plant designers provided for the presence of a condensate freezing fuse, as well as a moisture separator.

The model has a parking brake and a spare brake, which make it as reliable as possible.

Other characteristics

In order to form a clearer idea of the chassis, let's look at the following indicators:

  • maximum speed – 75 km/h;
  • consumption per 100 km – 35 l;
  • total volume of fuel tanks – 330 l;
  • curb weight – 9 t;
  • load capacity – 14.5 t;
  • length – 9.5 m;
  • height – 2.7 m;
  • width – 2.5 m.

Truck crane KS 3575 based on KrAZ: technical characteristics, overview of the forklift

Even before the 90s of the last century, in the Lvov region of Ukraine, in the city of Drohobych, the automobile plant produced the first KS-3575 truck crane based on the ZIL-133G1 truck (another name is Drohobych). The truck crane engine ran on gasoline fuel. To save money, now almost all car lift engines have been converted to run on diesel fuel. This KS-3575 truck crane is capable of driving through impassable off-road areas with particular ease. When overloading heavy equipment, it has a unique stable characteristic.

A little later, KS-3575 equipment began to be installed on the basis of KrAZ-250 trucks.

A small characteristic of the truck crane:

  • ability to lift loads up to 10,000 kg;
  • lifts loads to a height of up to 15 m;
  • minimum boom radius 2.85 m;
  • maximum boom reach 14.6 m;
  • the main road speed is 77 km/h;
  • the weight of the crane with equipment is slightly more than 17,000 kg.

The KS-3575 truck crane has proven itself to be a reliable crane in all work related to loading and unloading in construction and installation work, as it is equipped with a hydraulic drive. Due to its high cross-country ability, it has the ability to work in small spaces.
