Motor cultivator Tarpan - attachment for cultivator TMZ MK-03

About the manufacturer

This model was invented by Tula engineers in 1991 as a simple and reliable replacement for the Rus walk-behind tractor, which was produced by Tulamashzavod.

At first, the Tarpan was unprofitable and was not in great demand, but after it was improved and equipped with a powerful engine , things went much better. Since 1997, cultivators have been put into mass production.

Today it is manufactured by a specialized company, which is a subsidiary, which is located in the historical center - Frolovskaya Sloboda, which is famous for its specialists.

Tarpan

On the land that today belongs to a legal entity, in 79 of the nineteenth century the Baitsurovsky plant was built, which produced various cast iron and copper products.

Tulamashzavod is a well-known company that specializes in mechanical engineering.

The enterprise includes production facilities that are equipped with new equipment and leading technologies. You can find all the necessary information on the official website tar-pan.ru.

The production includes: procurement workshops, galvanizing and high-temperature processing, production of tools, parts, wood processing.

Along with classical equipment, automatic and semi-automatic devices are used, which allow the program to be run interactively. This ensures high technological flexibility of production.

The first motor-cultivator from the Tarpan series with a two-stroke engine with a capacity of 6.2 hp. was released from the assembly line in 93. It immediately established itself on the market on the positive side, but due to some production shortcomings it was not so popular among farmers.

03

the Tarpan-03 model was presented on the domestic market . To this day, it has not lost its leading position in the Russian market - consumers buy up to a thousand of these cultivators every day.

03

The plant's engineers have supplemented the model with various attachments, which can be used regardless of the year: for winter, you can use a rotary-type snow blower, and its working width will be 75 cm. It throws snow up to 5 meters, you can also purchase an ice cutter to clear the path .

Regardless of the time of year, with the cultivators Tarpan, Mantis, Cayman, Viking, Texas, Swift, Champion, Patriot, Loplosh, you can carry out all gardening work using a plow, rotary cutter (included), hiller, flat cutter, rake to crush and level the soil, collect for weeds and other attachments.

The cultivator can be used as a lawn mower , and in the fall you can dig up root crops and prepare the soil for winter.

The operating life of the motor is 1000 hours. The automatic centrifugal clutch allows the model to be disassembled into several devices, which can be easily transported and stored.

Thanks to the worm gearbox, you can eliminate the unreliable belt and chain drives that are installed on the walk-behind tractor.

Thanks to the improved design of the steering rod, the steering wheel can be rotated both in a lying and standing plane, thanks to which the operator will walk to the side of the unit, while the loosened soil is not trampled.

The capabilities of its four-stroke engine are sufficient to use the walk-behind tractor not only for cultivating the soil, but also for a wide variety of additional household work. Its main purpose is to plow light soils, harrow, cultivate, cut furrows, hill and dig up root crops, mow grass, and transport cargo, complete with appropriate mounted implements.

Spare parts

Hiller

Can be used with the following models: 03, 04, 07. The part itself consists of frames and blades, which are adjusted by means of a beam with holes.

The hiller for a walk-behind tractor can be used for vegetable crops, makes beds and furrows, and also closes furrows.

The hiller must be used with a weeder or lug.

Only all of them together create the desired traction force. Can be installed in place of the depth regulator. It is not always easy for a novice gardener to distinguish a classic hiller from a plow, however, they are significantly different: a hiller is a symmetrical device that is equipped with two moldboard wings .

Hiller

During operation, these wings are able to push the soil to the sides - right and left, depending on the progress of movement. The plow cannot be called symmetrical. It is equipped with one blade and moves the soil only to the left or right.

"Tarpan" cultivator contains a lot of useful information on the choice of equipment, its care and all the necessary parts. There are models where the wings are replaced by two spherical disks. Such hillers are called disk hillers. They lift the soil well and perfectly clear the area of weeds.

Lugs

Model 260x80 is used for “Tarpan 03, 04”, and 400x170 or 500x170 is used for model “07-01”.

Lugs or wheels made of metal with hooks are used to improve the device's traction with the soil.

Lugs

According to their characteristics, the parts vary in size and fasteners. They are made from a square profile regardless of diameter, have welded hubs (polyhedrons or round holes of different diameters) or have holes to attach the hub.

When choosing lugs, it is necessary to take into account the model of the walk-behind tractor , as well as the tasks that are assigned to them.

Attachments

The Tarpan cultivator is equipped with the following attachments:

  • Weeder. It is used when it is necessary to clear an area of weeds between rows, the size of which should not be longer than 50 centimeters.
  • Hiller. Thanks to it, you can make beds, dig furrows , and plant potatoes.
  • Prefix "String" . It is used to cut grass.
  • Lugs for the Tarpan cultivator are necessary so that the unit has better traction with the ground and does not slip.
  • Special frame with wheels. Used to allow the unit to move comfortably.
  • Plow. With its help you can do deep plowing.
  • A milling cutter, also called “Crow’s feet”.
  • An attachment, thanks to which the area can be cleared of snow (used in model 07).
  • A hitch, thanks to which you can attach third-party devices to the Tarpan cultivator.

Attachments, the price of which depends on the type chosen, will surprise you with their availability.

A homemade caterpillar will also be a useful addition.

Tarpan TMZ-MK-03

Tarpan TMZ-MK-03 is considered the base model, launched into production in 1997.

The Tarpan MK-03 motor-cultivator is a multifunctional and powerful mechanism for cultivating soil on household plots and plots of land. The unit performs the following operations:

  • loosening the soil;
  • plowing the site;
  • crushing and incorporation of weeds into the soil;
  • cultivation;
  • uniform mixing of fertilizers with the soil in the treated area.

Landowners often attach additional trailed and mounted equipment to the walk-behind tractor, which is sold separately. The functionality of the unit increases, it is transformed and begins to perform other agricultural work:

  • weeding between rows;
  • hilling of vegetable crops;
  • cutting ridges and furrows;
  • mowing grass vegetation;
  • covering cultivated plants with soil during processing;
  • clearing the area of snow;
  • cargo transportation.

For the walk-behind tractor, the following trailed and attached equipment is used:

  • weed weeds;
  • hillers;
  • lawnmowers;
  • mower "String";
  • snow blower SMB-1M;
  • protective disks;
  • trailed trolley TPM;
  • special wheels with lugs;
  • walk-behind shovel;
  • extension.

These mechanisms are widespread and in demand in agriculture among farmers.

The unit can process areas up to 0.2 hectares. It is used on medium and heavy soils. The manufacturer does not recommend treating soil containing hard materials, as well as hard-to-reach places. This leads to breakdown of the Tarpan walk-behind tractor.

The device can withstand various climatic conditions and be operated at temperatures of +5...+40°C.

The agricultural module has small dimensions - 1300x700x1060 mm, weight - 45 kg, and does not require a large storage area. It can be transported in any convenient way:

  • by car;
  • on a trolley;
  • manually in partially disassembled form.

For this purpose, the 2 main blocks are separated from each other, releasing the hinged bolts.

Manual

It is important not to use the unit at full capacity for several days after purchase - you must remember that the device must be run-in for the first 24 hours. Therefore, it is better to process the same bed in several stages, each time increasing the depth of processing.

Start

Before starting, it is worth checking the oil level, the proper operation of the engine, and whether the power unit is securely attached to another unit that performs an additional function.

Starting the engine when the control lever is clamped (the engine speed control position is “fast”) is prohibited, because the device’s clutch works automatically when the engine reaches the desired speed, which is more than the idle speed.

Soil treatment

You need to stand near the steering wheel and hold the handle tightly. Do not press the lever too hard, slightly increase the engine speed.

When the motor reaches the required speed, the centrifugal clutch will automatically engage and the gearbox shaft will begin to rotate.

At this time the device will begin to move. Cultivation of the soil in depth by cutters is determined by the position of the depth regulator , which can change when it is rearranged in the bracket along the holes that are in the regulator.

Turn off device

To do this, lower the control lever. It will return to its original idle position as a result of the operation of the return spring. Then pull it down all the way and the motor will stop working.

Engine Briggs & Stratton Vanguard OHV 6.5НР 13Н3

Briggs&Stratton Vanguard series gasoline engines are semi-professional single- and two-cylinder air-cooled engines with a horizontal crankshaft, cast iron cylinder liner, and overhead valves (OHV). Model 13N3 is a single-cylinder gasoline engine with a horizontal crankshaft. It is equipped with an Oil-Guard low-oil start-up protection system, which is activated only during engine startup and automatically turns off afterwards, allowing for short-term tilting of the equipment (up to 25 degrees). If the oil level is insufficient, the engine turns off.

Vanguard series engines have been produced for a very long time and are, as they say, time-tested. They ensure complete and maximum efficient combustion of fuel, a minimum amount of deposits, a long service life of the valves, and economical fuel consumption.

The engine design uses a Dual-Clean air filter. This is an automotive-style air filter element made of corrugated paper, with a foam pre-filter, providing double protection for a longer engine life. The cast iron Dura-Bore cylinder liner provides good wear resistance in all operating conditions, along with reduced oil consumption.

The design uses a removable ball bearing for easy repair and smooth operation. The Magnetron electronic ignition system ensures fast and reliable starting. A special Lo-Tone muffler reduces engine noise.

In addition to walk-behind tractors, model 13

H3 is widely used for various types of operation: as part of gas generators and welding units, agricultural machinery and autonomous sawmills, motor cultivators, mini-tractors, lawn mowers.

  • The dry weight of the engine is 18.7 kg.
  • Its overall dimensions are 275 x 391 x 363 mm.
  • Working volume: 205 cm3.
  • Maximum torque – 4.8 Nm / 3060 rpm.
  • Cylinder diameter – 68.3 mm.
  • The piston stroke is 55.8 mm.
  • Oil sump volume – 0.6 l.

Malfunctions and repairs

"Tarpan" cultivator, the instruction manual indicates some causes of breakdowns. The engine cannot be started or is difficult to start. This may occur due to a misconfigured engine speed controller, or fuel is not supplied to the carburetor.

To resolve this problem you need to:

  • Check the presence of fuel in the tank.
  • Check spark plug gap.
  • If necessary, clean the spark plug from carbon deposits or replace it.
  • Check the carburetor for proper operation.

The motor may also overheat.

It starts to overheat because the cooling system and air filter are clogged.

In order for the engine to operate at normal temperature, the cooling system and air filter must be cleaned or replaced.

The engine does not operate at maximum speed. This often happens because the air filters are clogged and need to be replaced. To eliminate this problem, you need to clean or replace the filter.

Malfunctions often occur due to the operator’s fault due to irrational use of equipment, so be sure to read the instructions before starting work. If you have not saved the original, you can find it on the Internet; in one of the search engines write: “Tarpan cultivator instruction manual.”

The Tarpan model range is constantly updated and improved in terms of its technical characteristics.
