KamAZ 45144 is a popular large-capacity dump truck aimed at use in agriculture. Since 1982, the Kama Automobile Plant has produced the KamAZ 45143 truck, which has been refined and modernized several times. However, by the end of the 1990s, it began to noticeably lose to its competitors, and soon its successor, the KamAZ 45144 model, appeared in the production program of the enterprise. The vehicle had a greater load capacity (up to 14 tons) and an improved design. The KamAZ 65115 chassis was chosen as the basis for it.

As part of the global modernization that began at the Kama Automobile Plant in 2009, KamAZ 45144 received a modern tilting cab with air suspension and an improved design. Owners of KamAZ-45143 agricultural dump trucks note with pleasure and even some surprise its reliability and decent quality. The frame and loading platform of the “farmer” are very strong, there is no need to weld or paint; corrosion, at least for the first 5-6 years of use, is not observed. The same cannot be said fully about the cabin. Here the quality of the metal is such that after several seasons of operation it has to be “restored to divine form.”
The power of any of the engines that are presented in the line for this model of dump truck is enough with a reserve. The motors are trouble-free and unpretentious. However, the manufacturer, as usual, “embellished” the fuel consumption figures in the performance characteristics. According to the testimonies of the owners of agricultural vehicles, twenty-six liters of diesel fuel per 100 kilometers of travel is never obtained. Less than 30 liters per 100 kilometers does not work, even with an empty body and without a trailer.
Cross-country ability is excellent. Naturally, the car is not suitable for a serious “safari” on muddy off-road and muddy roads, but if necessary, it will confidently pass even on very bad dirt roads. And he walks across the field completely without tension. In the cabin, according to the owners of KamAZ-45143, there is only the bare minimum of comfort. About the history of the model
The KamAZ-45143 dump truck in the KamAZ model range became a continuation of the previously popular KamAZ-55102, which was also called the “agricultural truck”. Compared to its predecessor, the 45143rd KamAZ received a payload capacity increased from 7 to 12 tons.
KamAZ-45143 has been mass-produced by the Kama Automobile Plant since 1982, and has been modernized and improved more than once during its thirty-year tenure on the assembly line.
