Insufficient tire inflation leads to abrasion of the side parts of the tread, creases may appear on the rubber, and spontaneous disassembly of the tire is possible.

Excessive pressure increases the ride roughness, the trailer bounces on uneven roads, and there is a danger of a wheel explosion. In addition, excessive inflation will quickly damage the central part of the tread.

On the vast majority of modern tires, the manufacturer indicates two main indicators that help you choose the correct tire pressure:

  • maximum tire load;
  • maximum pressure in it.

Since the upper pressure limit is indicated for the case of the maximum permissible load on the wheel, it is recommended to take a value 10% less as a working value.

When driving with a trailer without a load, the inflation is further reduced to avoid jumps on uneven roads. Before loading, the tires are inflated, and final inspection is carried out upon completion.

To install the platform on the safety stand, lift the platform completely back, set the hydraulic distributor handle to the “neutral” position and, with the stand in the working position, slowly lower the platform onto the stand. At the same time, make sure that the stand fits into the pocket intended for it, located on the platform. When lowering the platform onto the stand, it is prohibited to direct the stand and be under the platform.

Make sure that the stand and its mounting bracket are in good condition. The stand must not be bent. The bracket should not have any cracks in the weld or the whole metal. The post pin must be securely pinned.

4.12 Platform (Fig. 24). The trailer platform is rectangular in shape. The design of the platform provides for the possibility of installing extension sides: front, rear and two side. The presence of rear corner posts provides hinged mounting of the side and rear extensions. When installing extension sides, the platform capacity increases to 11.8 m3.

At the bottom of the platform base there are four support brackets, with which the platform is hinged with locking pins on the trailer frame. When tilting the platform backwards, remove the locking pins (Fig. 25) of the front supports, and when tilting to the side, remove the two locking pins from the side opposite to the tilting. The front main side of the platform is fixed.

5. OPERATION PROCEDURE

When operating a trailer, it is necessary to take into account that the trailer is designed for transporting bulk agricultural cargo, and the platform structure is designed for loading and unloading precisely such cargo.

Transportation of other cargo, including piece goods, is allowed.

When loading and transporting cargo, measures must be taken to prevent the possibility of damage to the platform both by the cargo itself and by loading means. Piece cargo must be securely secured against movement.

5.1. Scheme of aggregation of one trailer with MTZ-82 tractors (Fig. 37).

5.1.1. When coupling a trailer with MTZ-82 tractors, do the following:

install the trailer drawbar so that the coupling eye is at the height of the tractor towing device;

remove the king pin from the tractor towing device;

Carefully move the tractor back until the towing device bracket aligns with the trailer coupling eye and fix this position with the towing device pin, fix the safety chain;

Insert the trailer plug into the tractor socket;

connect the trailer brake system hose head to the tractor brake system head;

open the pneumatic system valve installed on the tractor;

Connect the hydraulic system hose from the tractor spare parts kit using union nuts to the tractor fitting and the trailer break coupling;

Release the parking brake by turning the handle counterclockwise until it stops.

5.2. Trailer disconnection. To disconnect the trailer from the tractor:

brake the trailer with the parking brake (rotate the drive handle clockwise until it stops);

remove the plug from the socket and insert it into the hole in the drawbar plate, carefully winding up the electrical cord;

open the connecting head of the brake system hose and place it on the bracket welded to the drawbar;

disconnect the trailer hydraulic system by opening the breakaway coupling;

disconnect the hitch eye from the tractor towing device.

5.3. Features of operation. The tractor train has significant dimensions and weight, so be especially careful when moving. The movement of the train should be uniform, without sudden braking or jerking, especially on a slippery road, since sudden braking may cause the trailer to skid.

Driving a tractor train, especially when moving in reverse, requires special skills from the tractor driver.

It is necessary to monitor the condition of the trailer during the break-in period for the first 20 hours. In this case, pay special attention to the state of adjustment of wheel bearings and brakes, and to the timely tightening of loose threaded connections.

To ensure that the trailer brakes operate ahead of the tractor brakes, adjust the travel of the tractor brake pedal and check by performing test braking.
