For livestock farming, the problem of feed is the most pressing; the Yenisei 1200 grain harvester will solve it by growing and harvesting feed with subsequent processing at home.
In Russia I use two cleaning technologies that have been used for several centuries:
- continuous, using this technology the mown grains are immediately threshed. Previously, the hay was taken to the threshing floor, and there they were beaten with flails to separate the grain from straw and impurities; now the cut grain is immediately threshed on a combine, the grain is accumulated in a bunker, and the straw is collected separately;
- Separately, the beveled breads are placed in a windrow, where they dry out and ripen. Then, when the combine passes again, the windrows are picked up and threshed. The grain is reloaded into the bunker, and the straw into the stacker.
Interesting fact. Climatic conditions in most parts are such that separate harvesting is used in most cases. Grain crops ripen to milky-waxy ripeness. At this moment they are mowed down. Only then is threshing and final harvesting of the grain carried out.

Tip #1. On weedy fields, only separate harvesting is possible. Weeds and grains dry unevenly, so at the time of threshing it is easier to separate the grain mass and debris.
The Yenisei 1200 combine is operated and produced in several types of configuration:
- for harvesting wheat, barley, rye and other grains;
- for harvesting rice and soybeans.
Usually the combine has wheels, but for harvesting rice it is equipped with a caterpillar drive. For soft soils, expanded wheels with reduced ground pressure are used.

The engine of the equipment worked even on low-quality fuel. Over the 34 years of production, many modifications of the Yenisei 1200 were created, the Soviet combine was modernized to a European-level machine.
Yenisei 1200 1NM is an improved version of the basic Yenisei 1200 series. This model is considered the most common combine harvester in the territory east of the Urals.

The requirements for the process are quite stringent. You can withstand them by adjusting all the units of the combine and making adjustments that correspond to real harvesting conditions.
Engine
Yenisei 1200 1NM is equipped with 3 types of power plants:
- inflatable diesel engine D-442/50 (Altai Motor Plant). The 4-stroke in-line unit has 4 cylinders. The engine is characterized by the following parameters: working volume – 6.3 l, rated power – 140 hp, fuel tank capacity – 450 l;
- inflatable diesel engine D-442/57-I (Altai Motor Plant). The motor has a long service life. Unit characteristics: working volume – 6.3 l, rated power – 170 hp, specific fuel consumption – 50 l/h. The fuel tank capacity is 450 l;
- non-aspirated 4-stroke engine YaMZ 236DK2 (Yaroslavl Motor Plant). The unit is considered more modern and is superior to the D-442 model in terms of efficiency, torque reserve and power. The power plant is equipped with a liquid cooling system with forced circulation, operating using a pump. Characteristics of the YaMZ 236DK2 engine: displacement – 11 l, rated power – 185 hp, number of cylinders – 4. Fuel tank volume is 300 l, specific fuel consumption – 30 l/h.
The unit on the Yenisei 1200 1NM combine is located immediately behind the bunker on the roof of the thresher. The motor is installed on the frame using a shock-absorbing system. The water radiator has an additional cooling system. The operation of the motors is built according to a similar scheme. The force goes to the crankshaft, then to the chassis, hydraulic pump, fan, generator and water pump on one side and the thresher on the other side.

Main parts of the Yenisei 1200 combine
The main working mechanisms of a combine harvester are:
- reaper, also called “cheder”, it is designed for mowing grain;
- the pick-up picks up the windrow and guides it into the combine;
- a thresher is a set of devices for separating the grain part from impurities;
- The stacker concentrates the straw, compresses it, and then automatically dumps the collected straw into the field.
All of these units are assembled on a frame. The engine is also located there. The Yenisei 1200 combine uses several types of diesel engines. The configuration is carried out by the manufacturer depending on the possibilities of purchasing a particular engine. Therefore, you can find different configurations of these combines on sale. It is believed that with the YaMZ-236 diesel engine the best performance and operating efficiency are achieved.

Different actuators have their own controls. It is made with V-belt transmissions, as well as electric and hydraulic drives.
Header (header), design and operation features
The header includes a mower, augers, a reel and other components. To copy the terrain during the mowing process, it is installed on copying shoes. There is an inclined conveyor to supply the cuttings for processing.
The reel guides the plants towards the mower. The mower has trapezoidal segments, the lower ones are fixed, the upper ones are located on a movable rail. They perform a reciprocating movement.

The cut stems fall on the auger, which moves them from the periphery to the center. Depending on the position of the hood, the direction of movement of the mass changes. In direct combining, the flow is directed along an inclined conveyor to the threshing drums. In the raised position, a windrow is formed.
Tip #2: Farmers should remember that the weak point in the header is the windrower and crank converter. During the harvest season, the segments become dull, and some fall out during work. Therefore, a supply of trapezoidal mower segments is necessary.
The bearings in the crank mechanism wear out. They are located in an area of constant pollution. The work itself is accompanied by periodic blows with great force. Therefore, before harvesting, you need to have two or three sets of bearings for this device. When purchasing a header, be sure to check the free rotation of the reel and augers.
A possible mistake when purchasing a header is the desire to have the widest header (7500 mm). But its operation often turns out to be ineffective. Most fields do not have the required flatness. As a result, it is difficult to adjust the cutting height uniformly across the entire working width. It is better to have a header with a width of no more than 4.5 m in reserve. Then mowing can be done at a higher speed, which compensates for the smaller working width.
Features of the device and operation of the picker
The Yenisei 1200 combine is equipped with a pick-up with a working width of 1200 mm. This is a replaceable element that is installed in place of the mower. The selection of the mown mass is carried out using rubber-metal belts.
The rotation of the active body is driven by V-belts. The drive shaft rotation speed is controlled by a variator.

The forks in pick-ups wear out intensively, so it is advisable to purchase galvanized forks. They have been successfully used for several seasons. Those painted with powder paint are cheaper, but the coating is damaged within just a few days of use. By the end of the season, the protective coating is completely lost.
Pick-ups are a universal replaceable unit that can be installed on combine harvesters from different manufacturers. Some buyers often encounter problems after purchasing a combine harvester complete with attachments. The main errors are shown in the table

It is advisable to store pickers separately from combines. In severe frost, rubber elements quickly deteriorate. Therefore, it is advisable to dismantle them.
Features of the design and operation of the thresher
The grain mass enters the receiving chamber. It has a receiving beater. This is a pipe with blades tilted back (4 pieces), the edges have teeth. The beater captures the mass and sends it to the threshing apparatus.
The threshing apparatus consists of two beater-type drums. There is another beater with a separating grid. Next, an intermediate beater is installed, and a guide grid is located nearby. There are also special whips that produce rhythmic blows to the grain mass.
If the threshing apparatus becomes clogged, the combine stops. The reverse drive is turned on to bring out the mass that cannot pass inside.
Reasons for clogging of the threshing apparatus:
- the mass in the rolls has a moisture content of more than 18%;
- long stems of cereals more than 120 cm;
- presence of climbing weeds.
Not everything can be eliminated. Heavily weeded fields will not allow threshing at a high speed. You will have to stop frequently to remove the clogged debris.
If the importance of the windrows is high, then it is advisable to wait until the sun dries the windrows. It usually takes about two hours of sunshine for the humidity to drop dramatically.
If you have long stems, you need to make a higher cut. This is done at the grain mowing stage. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure uninterrupted operation of threshing in advance.

Features of the design and operation of the straw walker
When transporting straw to the stacker, the remaining grains must be completely removed. For this purpose, there is a straw walker inside. The movement process is accompanied by high-frequency shaking. Due to vibration when the straw moves along the guide keys, grains are released from it. They roll into the bunker.

Tip # 3. High grain losses during threshing are often associated with improper straw walker adjustments. Therefore, you need to periodically check the condition of the cranks. They may destroy the bearings in the crankshafts. They are lubricated using grease fittings and syringes.

Yenisei 1200N, Yenisei 1200-1NM Made with above average cross-country ability. The header is equipped with a fingerless type mechanism. Model 1NM is a basic modification.

- Gross weight 10.81 tons.

Yenisei 1200-NMSh The chassis of an agricultural machine is wheeled. The unit itself harvests rice and soybeans. The design is similar to the 1200-RM model. The 1200-NMSh modification comes with two configurations:
1. Threshing mechanism with drums: beater type, pin type. 2. There is one pin drum installed on the thresher. Yenisei 1200NMZ Used on a field that requires harvesting grain crops that have not yet ripened. To collect such crops, gear-type drums are used.
