Combine harvester Yenisei 950 - technical characteristics, device

Not many models of agricultural machinery can boast of having awards and other distinctions, however, the Yenisei 950 combine harvester is one of those that has repeatedly confirmed its quality at the state level. It was this model that became the prototype for new combines and is the base one. You can compare with it not only subsequent modern models, but also those that were produced earlier.

Transportation of the Yenisei 950 combine

Purpose

The model is multifunctional, but its main area of application is harvesting grain in fields with a yield not lower than average. It is under such conditions that the harvester demonstrates its greatest efficiency. Yenisei KZS 950 is suitable for harvesting crops that are difficult to thresh or have high humidity. However, excessive moisture may cause problems and require the operator to perform a cleaning procedure. Another feature of the combine is the ability to adjust the windscreen cleaning system and thresher, which allows it to be adjusted for harvesting grass seeds, legumes or oilseeds. This fact significantly expands the scope of application of technology.

Scope of application

Yenisei 950, the technical characteristics of which allow the equipment to be used for harvesting grain, legumes, cereal crops, sunflowers, and grasses, belongs to the 4th harvest class. The machine is used in medium-yielding and high-yielding fields. To carry out work with minimal losses, it is necessary to select the right attachments and configure them depending on the characteristics of the site and the type of harvest crops.

Modifications and features

The Yenisei KZS 950 series is available in several variations. The most common versions:

  • Yenisei KZS 950-73 – single-drum model with D-442-59I motor and stacker;
  • Yenisei KZS 950-02 – single-drum version with YaMZ-236DK-9 unit and chopper;
  • Yenisei KZS 950-05 is a single-drum modification with a YaMZ-236DK-9 motor and a stacker.

Advantages of Yenisei KZS 950:

  • increased grain tank capacity;
  • significant performance. The combine allows you to harvest up to 100 tons of grain mass daily;
  • new high-power diesel unit;
  • comfort of work. The operator's cabin is conveniently located and can be equipped with air conditioning. Vibration and noise inside are muffled;
  • one of the most efficient shredders in this class. Due to improvements to this unit, the grinding has become finer;
  • reinforced axle and tires with a large contact area provide good cross-country ability;
  • low cost of acquisition and maintenance. Many spare parts from the Niva series are suitable for the combine, which reduces the cost of searching and purchasing parts. It is not recommended to use drive belts of other models, since their service life is short due to the difference in loads.

Disadvantages of the Yenisei KZS 950:

  • regular breaks of drive belts;
  • the operator’s cabin is not located very well (almost under the conveyor), which reduces visibility;
  • elevator scrapers are often lost due to weak fastening;
  • When working with wet grain, the auger may stop due to the fact that the belts do not rotate the gearbox.

Combine harvester Yenisei KZS 950

The Yenisei KZS 950 grain harvester represents the Ruslan family of combines. The model is considered one of the most widespread in the country and is a 4-time winner of the annual exhibition held at the All-Russian Exhibition Center. For a long time, the Yenisei KZS 950 remained the only representative of class 4 combines produced in series.

The development of the combine was carried out by specialists from the Krasnoyarsk Combine Harvester Plant, which has been part of the Agromashholding organization since 2003. The predecessor of the technology is the Yenisei 1200-1M modification, which was considered basic for a long time. During the modernization process, the main components affecting the machine’s performance were redesigned, and the operator’s working conditions were improved. The Yenisei KZS 950 model retained the most successful elements (cleaning system, reinforced drive wheel axle, hydraulic transmission). For the new product, we chose a symmetrical layout relative to the longitudinal axis (the bunker, cabin and driver's platform were located symmetrically relative to the longitudinal axis of the thresher). The combine also received an improved YaMZ diesel engine. At the same time, the production process remained the same, so the high quality of the product was maintained.

The first versions of the Yenisei KZS 950 were introduced in 1999. After a series of tests and shows, mass production of the model began in the spring of 2003.

Currently, the Yenisei KZS 950 is assembled at several enterprises: the Chuvash, Belotserkovsky Combine Harvester Plant and the Volgograd Tractor Plant. Cars produced in Krasnoyarsk are considered to be of the highest quality.

Yenisei KZS 950 is the basic model, which is used as the basis for creating new combines. The equipment has repeatedly confirmed its quality at the state level.

The Yenisei KZS 950 is used for a series of simultaneous actions: cutting, threshing grain crops, assembling the non-grain component of the crop and cleaning the fine-straw heap. The presence of several modes of cleaning and operation of the threshing device allows the combine to harvest grass seeds, oilseeds and grain legumes. When installing the Yenisei KZS 950 pick-up, it allows you to select shafts of plant material in case of separate harvesting.

Design and operating features

The Yenisei KZS 950 is equipped with a reinforced MVG-12 bridge, hydraulically controlled. The bridge consists of a beam, right and left axle shafts, final drives, a hydraulic motor, couplings and a gearbox. The drive wheels are mounted on the axle and equipped with pneumatic tires. The final drives are equipped with hydraulically controlled disc brakes. The driven wheel axle, which is again equipped with pneumatic tires, consists of a beam and a steering linkage used for turning. The bridge beam is connected to the threshing frame tail using hinges. In the vertical plane it has free movement, stability is ensured by swing limiters. This bridge design guarantees safe operation on uneven surfaces.

The Yenisei KZS 950 uses a hydraulic transmission with an axial plunger pump, controlled from the combiner platform using a specialized lever. The gearbox is mounted on the bridge beam. Its design assumes the presence of movable gears for selecting gears and direction of movement (4 speeds). For safe operation there are several locks:

  • spontaneous switching off of gears;
  • simultaneous activation of 2 speeds;
  • starting the engine with the gear engaged.

The adjustment is carried out steplessly, while switching ranges is possible only when the hydraulic drive locking pedal is pressed.

The hydraulic system of the Yenisei KZS 950 consists of 2 subsystems:

  • basic;
  • steering control.

The main hydraulic system is used to lower and raise the header and reel, turn off the header drive, and select the rotation speed of the reel and threshing drum. It is responsible for controlling the unloading auger, engaging the clutch of the threshing device, extending the reel and securing the stacker. The main hydraulic system includes a gear pump, plunger and piston hydraulic cylinders.

The steering hydraulic system includes a planetary metering pump supplemented by a distributor, an NSh 10-3 pump and a hydraulic cylinder. A metering pump equipped with safety and shock-proof valves is connected to the steering wheel.

The Yenisei KZS 950 is equipped with headers of various types and widths. Narrow models are used on fields with complex terrain. Wide-cut headers (up to 7000 mm) are used for harvesting long crops in areas with a moderate slope (no more than 9 degrees).

A special feature of the Yenisei KZS 950 is a thresher with 1 beating drum, which allows the equipment to be used for working with a variety of crops and harvesting by separate and direct combining. The beater drum knocks out the grains through mechanical action. The mass enters the bunker through a screw conveyor. The remaining grains are sifted using a straw walker with 4 keys, after which they again enter the hopper. The straw separated from the grain is crushed.

The operator's cabin in the Yenisei KZS 950 has an unusual location. It is installed in the center with a noticeable offset forward. There is an inclined conveyor above its base. In this case, the operator can perfectly control the mowing and picking process. However, visibility is somewhat reduced due to visibility restrictions. The spacious interior is equipped with a comfortable driver's seat. The main controls (steering wheel, levers, indicators) are located directly in front of the combine harvester and make working with the equipment easier.
