Since mid-June I have owned a 2-cabin Bongo (restyling). I took it with a 2.7-liter diesel engine with 80 hp. and manual transmission. Drive – 4x4. The truck is completely new - the odometer at the time of purchase showed only 40 km.

It looks quite nice and modern, especially from the front. The hood, by the way, opens - under it are the necks of the tanks with liquids. The jack is also stored there. The paintwork is weak, like all modern cars. The rear sills need some kind of protection - otherwise passengers will quickly rub the paint down to bare metal.

There is, surprisingly, a lot of space in the cabin. The seating position is high and comfortable. The seats are upholstered in leatherette with perforations. They look great, but they get very hot in the sun. There are six seats - three in each row. The outer front seats have lateral support and adjustments. But sitting in the center is not entirely comfortable - the transfer lever gets in the way. The rear, in my opinion, is too spacious (it would be better to slightly lengthen the body). The back of the rear sofa is installed almost vertically. There is a fairly large box underneath.

The light is excellent - there are no problems with visibility at night. When you remove the key from the ignition, the headlights automatically turn off.

The engine, of course, is rather weak - at least during the run-in. But I heard that after 10,000 km it should wake up. I hope so. I move around the city calmly, and on the highway, in principle, everything is fine. At the same time, there is not enough power on climbs, especially if you do not accelerate in advance.

When I first bought the car, I filled it with 30 liters of diesel fuel. They were enough for me for 300 km. I traveled mainly around the city. That is, consumption is 10 liters per 100 km. I think this is not bad. By the way, they say that such an engine can run on any diesel fuel. But I still don’t save on it. Gearbox – 5-speed. The lever is short and fits well in the hand. Gear shifts clearly. In a word, the box copes with its task.

The suspension is moderately soft. Driving on the highway is a pleasure. Small irregularities are worked out with a bang. On even ground it works great too. But on large holes and potholes in the cabin it is shocking, especially from the rear.

The body is a bit short. Its length (with open side) is 230 cm. Width is 165 cm. 3-meter materials are easy to transport, but 4-meter materials are more difficult. It needs to be secured well. Load capacity – from 1 to 1.4 tons.

KIA Bongo is interesting because it (4x4) can be used to make a good “SUV truck”.
