Trailer kmz 8136, 8119: technical characteristics

Legality of modernization

I will not talk specifically about how to do this or that tuning. Is it possible to change the design at all? This is the first question that needs to be answered.

I'll say this. Some changes may not require any adjustments to your documents. But radical tuning will potentially become the subject of disputes with road service employees.

Therefore, before turning your regular car trailer into a camper or using it as a motor home, seek advice from the traffic police.

Tuning requires obtaining appropriate certificates of changes in the design of the vehicle. You will have to go through a number of offices, pay state fees, stand in lines, etc.

Although many simply ignore it. They modernize the trailer the way they want, and on the spot with the traffic police officers they find out how legal it is and how to circumvent such prohibitions. If you want to get rid of unnecessary traffic stops and incomprehensible fines, go through the lengthy but legal procedure of re-registering a trailer. This is the best option, in my opinion.

Well, or instead of converting it to a PVC boat, immediately buy yourself a trailer designed and certified specifically for such purposes. Remodeling is a troublesome task, although it is always nice to see the results of work done with your own hands.

A little about the company

The KMZ plant or Kurganmashzavod first produced its own light trailer in 1984. Back then it was a multifunctional model of fairly compact size. The products quickly gained popularity due to their affordable cost and high quality products.

Manufacturers have provided for literally every little detail. We used high-quality wheel bearings, load-resistant shock absorbers, durable suspension arms and other spare parts. The owners did not have any particular problems changing silent blocks or other components. To do this, there was no need to seek help from specialists.

Currently, their old trailers, including KMZ 8136, are actively used and converted to the needs of the owner. Some people have a spring instead of a wishbone suspension, others install larger wheels, weld the side, etc. This is a convenient and simple trailer that allows you to adapt it to various tasks and functions.

If we talk about modern production, then in 2022 the Kurganmashzavod plant has undergone significant changes. It began to be used for the production of military equipment. But because of this, the production of trailers was not stopped. Production was moved to the city of Cheboksary, retaining a team of experienced specialists and engineers. It was also possible to save the entire production cycle.

Now KMZ trailers are produced at a new site. Specialists have modernized the production base, which has improved the quality of products and reduced the cost of manufacturing equipment. Because change is not always for the worse.

If you don’t remember or have forgotten, then we have presented the KMZ 8284 20 trailer and the KMZ 8284 21 model. We also provided a comparison of two popular solutions, determining the more preferable trailer between the Krepysh and KMZ models. I advise you to read it. You will find it interesting and useful.

Why is this necessary?

And indeed, why take and change a ready-made trailer if initially its layout or design suited you completely?! The question is purely personal and depends on the individual needs of the car owner.

Let's take a few good trailers as an example:

  • MMZ 81021;
  • Scythian;
  • VSW;
  • KMZ 8119;
  • MZSA;
  • Kurgan trailer, etc.

Good vehicles with enviable technical characteristics for many manufacturers. But if suddenly there is a need to use them to transport boats or to transport a motorcycle, then they will not be able to cope with such tasks.

Yes, any standard trailers are perfect for traveling to your dachas and loading several bags of potatoes collected from the garden. But I want something different and more.

I would highlight several main goals that car owners pursue when deciding to change a trailer:

  • increase functionality;
  • increase carrying capacity;
  • change reliability parameters for the better;
  • modernize the purely appearance of the vehicle.

Now let’s go through each of the points separately and decide what can be done in this or that situation with your factory standard towed vehicle.

Reliability

If you are concerned about the issue of reliability, then it is better to immediately buy a more expensive trailer that is resistant to all loads and impacts. Then you won’t have to think about whether it can last 5-10 years.

To reduce the rate of wear, that is, increase the reliability of your car, truck or boat trailer, you can:

  • make the lining of the body and bottom of the trailer using ordinary plywood;
  • replace standard optics with LED ones, which last longer and place less load on the car’s electrical system;
  • apply anti-corrosion agent to the body;
  • treat the body with high-quality paint;
  • put up an awning (we talked about it separately in this article).

It is possible to replace the hubs, modernize the suspension and other improvements. It is very popular to switch the Bee trailer to springs with a standard torsion bar. It has a good effect on the reliability, performance and behavior of the trailer on roads of varying quality. So it's worth thinking about.

Functionality

Many are more interested in the functional side of the trailer, that is, its ability to provide various additional capabilities.

Various options available:

Everything here is limited only by your imagination, needs and real possibilities. It is clear that it will not be possible to make a whole huge motor home from a small cheap trailer.

Yes, upgrading a boat trailer into a cargo trailer is a more complex process, because you will have to create the frame, sides, and install an awning with your own hands. It is easier to make a boat out of a cargo boat, because all unnecessary structures are removed and the corresponding limiters and fasteners are installed. And that’s it, the vehicle for transporting the boat is ready.

There are many examples of photos and videos where craftsmen slightly changed the design of caravans, or turned them into a real work of art. There is always something to rely on, where to take examples and inspiration.

Load capacity

If you need to transport cargo weighing up to 1.3 tons, then it is enough to have a regular single-axle trailer.

But sometimes it is necessary to increase the load capacity, for which another 1 axle is added. From single-axis we get biaxial. The solution is good if it justifies itself from the standpoint of active exploitation.

Be prepared to stand in lines and deal with paperwork. Such a conversion into a two-axle vehicle requires re-registration of the trailer with the traffic police. Otherwise, fines and even more serious consequences of illegal alterations cannot be avoided.

Appearance

The owner of a trailer does not always need to change its technical and functional characteristics. But the standard appearance is depressing, which prompts the idea to change something from an aesthetic point of view.

Let's use our imagination and get to work. The most common ones include:

  • installation of new optics;
  • installation of original reflectors;
  • body painting;
  • modernization of beautiful protection;
  • replacement of awning;
  • installation of LED strips around the perimeter for illumination;
  • replacement of wheels and tires.

A trailer is a huge space for creativity. There are no clear boundaries or restrictions here.

Do not forget that any interference with the design may be a reason for you to be stopped by a traffic police officer, issued a fine or even a ban on operation until you receive official documents and certificates of re-registration.

It was like this: I bought a used trailer, not for a lot of money with documents, but in a deplorable condition. The trailer, in principle, is not bad, but “tired”, the previous owner treated the suspension arms, welded the brackets for these arms, in general, the geometry of the wheels was lost (bending of the arms). The rear and front sides were killed (rotten), the drawbar was bent... 1 I decided to start from the sides (front-back). Since the height of standard sides is 25 cm (not enough for me), I made it 40 cm high (a frame made of professional pipe with a 1.5 mm sheet riveted from the inside) 2 It was necessary to align the longitudinal sides with the transverse ones ., and at the same time strengthen. It was decided to strengthen it with a board, 15 cm wide and flush with the side. Since in the lower (original board) there are sockets for landing additional boards of 4 pieces, I don’t remember the diameter. Screws with a diameter of 8 mm were screwed into the board, and they, in turn, attract bushings of the required length, so these bushings fit snugly into standard board seats. As you can see in the photo, the board is attached to the board with strips of metal, riveted to the iron board and mounted on screws to the board. The board has excellent rigidity and sufficient height. By the way, a friend came with the same trailer, and he had additional sides installed on his cart (on oven mitts). No comparison - like jellied meat! 3 I straightened the drawbar and welded a piece of a suitable profile and thickness so that it was possible to bend the trailer at 90 degrees without consequences for the car (the gap from the front side to the car is 20 cm). I painted it and drove around with it - I scoured the road, although I didn’t jump (the shock absorbers are working, but the springs are weak). I brought gravel, loaded less than the standard sides, fell on the bump stops, it wasn’t far to go - I made it... The load didn’t suit me and I decided... 4 Replacing the suspension is what should help.. I disassembled the wishbone suspension, I cut off the washers welded to the levers (by means of which the hub is attached). I made an axle with a lowered beam (from the photo you will understand that the wheel axis is higher than the beam axis). Then I bought 469 front springs, stepladders + nuts, earrings + bushings. The springs had to be softened (too rough), pay attention to the photo of the spring. As a result of the alteration, the result was: toe 3 mm, camber 3 mm, body volume 0.9 m3, load capacity - the load was level on the sides (gravel, sand), there were 8-10 cm left before the bumpers, do the math yourself (material density per volume). As for the reliability of the structure: a little over 50 tons were transported and unloaded on a cart, the spring bushings were cheap - they cracked but did not burst (I bought polyurethane ones). By the way, during the next unloading, the lights from 66 died out for a long time (they were in the standard place), so now they are from Kamaz - transferred from the edge and bottom of the tailgate. When unloading, the trailer is placed vertically. The cart behind the car goes as if on rails, the empty truth occasionally bounces, but not all at once, but one by one... By the way, I came to the idea and installed 16″ 7J wheels, 215*70 R16 tires, it’s more fun to roll on large skating rinks, but that’s not the case either the limit is a set of 235*70 R16 in the storage room.

The small-sized tractor KMZ-012 owes its appearance on the markets of Russia and the countries of the former USSR to the attempt of the Kurgan Machine-Building Plant to develop the market for universal agricultural machinery for small subsidiary plots and farms.

The car was presented to the general public in 2002. And despite serious competition from Chinese and European machine manufacturers, the tractor found its niche in the market and acquired fans.

A serious set of attachments for agriculture and municipal services played a big role in this. At the same time, the tractor itself was compact and economical. This made it attractive not only for public utilities and small farms, but also for ordinary rural residents who have small plots and keep livestock in their yards.

As mentioned above, KMZ-012 was produced at Kurganmashzavod. The enterprise is famous primarily for its military products. Or rather, infantry fighting vehicles, which are in service in 23 countries around the world.

The plant began its activities as an enterprise for the production of heavy crane equipment in 1950. And in 1954 it switched to the production of tracked army tractors, which were also used for civilian purposes, for example, in geological exploration.

In 1966, the government decided to begin production of infantry fighting vehicles or BMP-1 at the plant. Large-scale re-equipment of the plant and construction of new facilities began. In 1967, the first infantry fighting vehicles rolled off the production lines of the enterprise. New BMP-2s were released in 1983, and since 1987, more advanced BMP-3s.

Today, OJSC Kurganmashzavod is a major mechanical engineering center with the latest equipment, a full production cycle and testing grounds for products. In addition to military equipment, the plant also produces a number of civilian vehicles.

Among the latest civilian developments, we can note the CHETRA TM-140 tracked transport vehicle, which can be equipped with various equipment. Multifunctional construction and utility vehicles with various attachments, lifting capacity of 1000 and 800 kg. Car trailers.

As for the hero of our review, the KMZ-012 tractor, its production began in 2002. In 2005 it was included in the list of “100 best goods of Russia”. Currently, unfortunately, the production of these machines has been stopped.

Air suspension on a car: features, advantages and disadvantages

The plant provides for the installation of a whole list of components and parts, including shock absorbers, bearings and silent blocks, identical to those used on domestic cars. So, you can put a set of wheels from a VAZ or Moskvich on a trailer. An exception is the Moskvich M 2141 model.

The suspension here is of very high quality and durable. It is an independent design with coil compression springs and telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers. Stamp-welded arms are also used, which swing in the longitudinal plane and are hinged using silent blocks on the transverse beam of the trailer frame.

Now you can easily select and install springs on a passenger car, making almost anything you want from domestic classics.

The KMZ 8136 was supplied with the following items from the factory:

  • awning;
  • set of extension sides;
  • drawbar extension;
  • fasteners;
  • electrical kit for connecting lighting devices, etc. to the vehicle’s on-board network.

The equipment was quite rich. Some components were offered at extra cost, while others were included in the base price. But the price remained at an affordable and adequate level, which largely explains such popularity.

I agree that in some modern KMZ 8136, which have undergone alterations and modifications, even from a photo it is difficult to recognize the outlines of a classic domestic trailer. But nothing lasts forever, so the design needs to be improved and modernized. Even if initially KMZ 8136 has excellent quality.

Specifications

Reading reviews, I discovered that many cannot find the frame number on their trailer from KMZ. I hasten to help. Usually this number is located in the area of the left side lamp. Look in that area.

It often happens that during use the number becomes dirty, rubbed over or covered with new layers of paint. This is an obvious flaw on the part of the manufacturer, since on models 8136 before 2000 the number was not duplicated. It is located only in one place and is sometimes poorly visible due to the initially not very high-quality application.

If you have figured this out, then all that remains is to consider the main technical characteristics. Understanding the approximate dimensions and capabilities of the trailer, you can decide for yourself whether you need a similar option, or whether it is better to look among something more modern.

I will build on the passport data, considering the technical aspects of KMZ 8136. Let's begin.

  • The load capacity here is 380 kg;
  • Curb weight should not exceed 170 kg;
  • The total weight is 550 kg;
  • The manufacturer recommends maintaining a speed of no more than 90 km/h if the KMZ 8136 is included in the road train;
  • Trailer length 3060 mm;
  • When the drawbar extension is installed, the length increases to 3860 mm;
  • Overall width of the trailer is 1760 mm;
  • The height here is 1010 mm;
  • The trailer provides a ground clearance of about 220 mm when equipped with standard wheels;
  • Internal length is 1850 mm;
  • Internal width is 1204 mm;
  • Inside the body, the height with standard sides is 250 mm;
  • If you use additional extension sides, the height increases to 500 mm;
  • Body volume in standard condition is 0.55 m3;
  • The internal volume of the body when using extension sides will be 1.10 m3;
  • If you use extension sides and an awning at the same time, the volume of the body will increase to 1.67 m3;
  • On KMZ 8136, 1 axle is installed, that is, 2 wheels are used;
  • The trailer allows you to transport long cargo with a maximum length of up to 5.5 meters.

I suggest you draw your own conclusions. In general, this is a worthy passenger trailer, given its rich history and long presence on the market.

Whether to buy such a model or not is a personal choice for everyone. Today, the range of passenger car trailers is so huge that purchasing becomes a serious problem. If earlier it was the shortage that caused difficulties, today the main problem is the wide choice.

Tractor engine KMZ-012

The KMZ-012 tractor was produced in four modifications with different power plants. We propose to consider each of them in more detail.

Engine "SK-12"

This two-cylinder, gasoline, carburetor engine was installed on the base model of the tractor. It is air-cooled and has an in-line arrangement of cylinders. Homeland of “SK-12”, Kazakh enterprise “Power Units Plant”.

  • Power kW/hp – 8.82/12;
  • Torque – 24 Nm;
  • Gasoline consumption – 335 g/kW, 248 g/hp. at one o'clock;
  • Rated engine speed – 3100 rpm;
  • Weight – 49 kg.

Engine V2Ch 8.2/7.8

V2Ch engine, the brainchild of Chelyabinsk. But the difference from the SK-12 is that it is diesel, which, with the same power, gives it an advantage in traction and efficiency. The engine is two-cylinder, V-shaped, air-cooled.

  • Power kW/hp – 8.82/12;
  • Diesel fuel consumption – 258 g/kW, 190 g/hp. at one o'clock.

Engine VANGUARD 16HP 305447

This is an American gasoline, 4-stroke engine of the famous Briggs & Stratton brand. The two v-shaped cylinders are air-cooled and have a carburetor fuel system.

  • Power kW/hp – 10.66/14.5;
  • Rated engine speed – 3000 rpm;
  • Fuel consumption – 381 g/kW, 280 g/hp. at one o'clock.

Engine HATZ 1D81Z

Like the previous engine, it is of American origin, but it is produced by another company, Motorenfabrik Hatz. Installed on the latest modification KMZ-012N. Single-cylinder, four-stroke diesel, with a vertical cylinder arrangement and air cooling. It is unpretentious in operation and economical.

  • Power kW/hp – 10.5/14.3;
  • Rated engine speed – 3000 rpm;
  • Diesel fuel consumption – 255 g/kW, 187.5 g/hp. at one o'clock.

Tractor gearbox KMZ-012

The tractor was equipped with a 6-speed gearbox. Early modifications had 5 forward and 1 reverse speeds, later modifications received a gearbox with 4 forward gears and 2 reverse gears.

The gearbox is mechanical, gear-type, with a two-stage main gear (cylindrical and bevel).

Speed km/h:

  • Back – 4.49;
  • Forward the smallest – 1.42;
  • Forward maximum working – 6.82;
  • Forward maximum transport - 15.18.

Chassis and transmission of the KMZ-012 tractor

The tractor is exclusively rear-wheel drive; no modifications with all-wheel drive have been created. The front steered wheels are mounted on a swinging, balancing beam, which allows the front axle to follow uneven terrain. The track of both bridges, depending on the tasks performed, can be adjusted in two positions, 70 and 90 cm.

The transmission on the KMZ-012 is also mechanical, with a single-disc friction, dry clutch. Disc brakes are installed in the gearbox housing.

The tractor is equipped with two power take-off shafts, front and rear. This significantly expands the functionality of the tractor allowing the use of active attachments on the front linkage.

Cabin of the KMZ-012 tractor

As standard, our hero is supplied by the manufacturer without a cab. This option is quite suitable for working in the summer. If you plan to work in winter, for an additional fee you can install a metal, heated cabin with a reliable frame that ensures safety.

The operator's workplace is equipped with a sprung driver's seat, which can be adjusted. Directly in front of the driver there is a control panel with all the sensors necessary for operation. An adjustable steering column is installed in the center of the panel. The fuel tank and batteries are located under the folding seat.

Hydraulics and attachment of the KMZ-012 tractor

The disadvantage of this tractor's hydraulic system is that the hydraulic pump is driven by the transmission. This means that when the clutch is depressed, the tractor’s hydraulics do not work.

Therefore, controlling the lifting and lowering of the hitch on the KMZ-012 requires some skill. The hydraulic cylinders of both the rear and front linkages are controlled using a spool valve.

The tractor is equipped with two attachments, front and rear. Both linkages have a classic three-point attachment system and are controlled hydraulically.

Design features of KMZ 8136

If you look at the official passport of this automobile passenger trailer, you can find out quite a lot of interesting and useful information regarding the original design of the KMZ 8136. To begin with, I will note that this is a trailer for passenger cars, aimed at transporting various cargoes. I hasten to remind you about the features and advantages of flatbed trailers, which you can read at the link.

Operation of the KMZ-012 tractor

The KMZ-012 tractor received from the manufacturer a quite good set of attachments, or rather 23 items for public utilities and agriculture. And yet, the machine became most widespread in agriculture, and more precisely in private household plots.

On a personal farmstead with 20-50 acres of land and 3-5 hectares of hayfields, the tractor revealed its potential in the best possible way. Having become a reliable, economical assistant for people living in rural areas and running private households on a small scale.

KMZ-012 also performed well in small livestock farms. Here, its compact dimensions allow it to maneuver inside the buildings while collecting manure or distributing feed.

As always, we will ask farmers who know the strengths and weaknesses of this technique best about the application of ASGM in practice:

  1. I have been using KMZ-012 for 7 years, I am happy with the tractor. One of the serious breakdowns during operation was a broken valve on one cylinder, and I didn’t even notice that. A pleasant discovery was the identity of the piston with the 30-horsepower Zaporozhets. I plowed with a plow with one body to a depth of 20 cm, but it couldn’t pull deeper - there wasn’t enough weight. When mowing, I use GVK-6 side rakes; the windrows were collected using draggers.
  2. I work on a tractor mainly in the summer. It is very helpful in construction on a farmstead, where you can level the crushed stone with a blade, or use a trailed homemade concrete mixer. All transport work is also on it. Plowing, if without fanaticism, you can work 20 centimeters with one body. If the PTO and hydraulics were independent, there would be no price for it.
  3. My veteran has been successfully working on the front lines of our small farm for 17 years. We plow at MTZ, and everything else is planting, inter-rowing, spraying and harvesting the 13 hectares of potatoes on it. It is easy to repair, and with proper maintenance it rarely breaks down. At the beginning, numerous oil leaks from the box bothered me, after disassembling it turned out that the quality of the casting left much to be desired and the gaskets in some places simply did not press through, I put everything on sealant and now everything is clean.

Based on our review and feedback from KMZ-012 owners, we can draw conclusions about its advantages and disadvantages:

Advantages:

  • The manufacturer presents 4 power plants from different manufacturers. There are plenty to choose from;
  • The machine is compact and maneuverable;
  • Ease of maintenance and maintainability;
  • Attachments for all types of work, 23 items.

Flaws:

  • The owners say the main disadvantage is the dependence of the PTO and hydraulic pump on the clutch. This creates inconvenience during work and requires some skill in operating attachments.
  • They also highlight the low weight of the machine, which reduces its traction characteristics. This can be partially solved by installing additional weights.
  • Poor quality casting of gearbox housing parts, resulting in numerous leaks and increased oil consumption. It can be solved by replacing the gaskets with oil and heat-resistant sealant.

Trailer kmz 8136, 8119: technical characteristics

Hi all! I’ve been reading this blog for a long time, but I haven’t had enough time to write about my trailer. Meet KMZ 8119!

Zoom

That's what he is!

A very long and funny life story of this trailer, especially in my possession)) About how I bought it: I worked with a guy who lives not far from my house. While we were working together, we covered a lot of different topics, about cars, and about houses... And then one day he says: “Listen, don’t you know, no one needs a trailer?”, I say, “What kind of trailer?” - “Yes, it’s worth it,” he says, “I’ve had it in my garden for five years now, I don’t need it.” I ask “how much?”, and he “would at least give it for a mower” - and then it dawned on me: THAT’S WHAT I NEED, AND I FORGOT))))). Let's go see it immediately! Picture: the trailer is standing on its side, one side is frozen into a snowdrift so that the arch is not visible, there are no wheels, but there are numbers. I say, “What, do you have any documents?” - “Of course, it’s registered, everything is in order,” my immediate answer: “I TAKE IT, HOLD THE MOWER!” We dug around for two hours until we used a crowbar to break up the snow and ice in order to pull it out. As it turned out, there was a wheel on a trailer under the snow, all that was left was to find one more - no problem, the tire service was 50 meters away, we got the right one for free. We turned it over onto its wheels and off we went! They attached it to my “five” (oh, that was a long time ago...) and I went home.

At that time, my car did not have a trailer socket, but at least it had a towbar. In accelerated mode, I install a socket, safety chains, and change light bulbs. The next day we are already rushing to the traffic police, where I am going to register him.

We arrive, at the inspection site the cop walks around for a long time, trying to find the body number. I tell him, “Yes, there’s a sign on the drawbar,” and he, “There should be somewhere else on the body itself, but I don’t remember where exactly... I “no, well, I have nothing to do with it, there’s a number over there.” , although it’s on a nameplate, it’s still readable, so everything is GOOD!” - “Well, to hell with you, go get a number.” Whether there really is a number on it, I still don’t know. I recently found out that it should be under the left lamp. We should try to look for it, but it’s a shame to rip off the paint, I painted it diligently...

Mainly used for garbage removal (I live in a private house, the landfill is far away - the only way out), transportation of all sorts of valuable things, such as a walk-behind tractor, various building materials, tools, WHEELS:

Zoom

Re-shoe season

I bought it in 2011. In 2012, my brother and I went to get some broken bricks (we needed to fill up a large hole near the house). I don’t know how much we loaded into it in terms of weight, but in terms of volume – up to the sides. He drove about 10 kilometers like this and still fell a little short. There was only 1 kilometer left to the house, but he took it and broke down. The beam folded in half, the wheels were in different directions, the levers rested on the asphalt... It’s a sad sight, I’ll include photos a little later. I had to unload it directly into the car in the middle of the road and transport the cargo over several approaches. Having loaded half of it, I managed to lift it a little and practically drag it to the house.

Next was the welding of this very beam, gusset, etc. The beam constantly could not stand, and it was still not possible to straighten it completely, the wheels were constantly moving in different directions, the tires were worn out after about 200 kilometers, fortunately there was a tire nearby, there were no problems with the wheels. Until 2014, I struggled with it; before every important trip I had to turn it over and boil it.

In 2014 I decided to redo the suspension. I decided to take the channel, VAZ 2108 hubs and springs from the Volga as a basis. Buy kspel springs only. I turned the trailer over and cut off the entire suspension with a Bulgarian. I think I'll go to the auto parts store and buy some hubs. I come, the seller says “Yes, there is, here it is assembled, 1 piece for 1350 rubles”, I “no big deal”... I think I’ll go for disassembly and buy bush ones. The seller says “Yes, there is, here it is assembled with a beam, the entire brake system, struts and wheels for 1000 rubles!”, I say “this one suits me!” He threw out the springs... welded the channel directly to the frame, welded the beam itself to it through the original VAZ brackets (I didn’t disassemble anything, all the pads and the rest of the trichomes remained in place). Through some simple modifications, I left the original ZAZ struts on the trailer.

Then I repainted it in a bright green color (as in the first photo), the paint has held up for the second year now, I’m happy with it.

A couple of months ago I rebuilt the UAZ lights, now they are completely LED.

Zoom

Holy shit... how many diodes are there?

Zoom

This is how the dimensions and emergency lights light up. I didn’t photograph the feet because there was no one to press the pedal

As you probably understood, the turn signals blink in the turn signal section, the dimensions - short horizontal segments at the top and bottom of the “board”, light up in the native stops section, and the stops - all the red glass lights up completely (in the native way - both stops and dimensions). The view is fire! I'll definitely take some photos and post them.

I only use it in conjunction with my grandfather’s “cherry nine”. Maybe someday I’ll get around to registering it on Drive2.

Now about the sad thing - time flies and spares no one. The other day I noticed that in the places where the body is attached in the front part, the bottom has rotted under the bolts, the front part of the body is quietly lifted by hand relative to the frame, something needs to be done. Ideally, disassemble it, weld a new, larger frame without touching the drawbar (leave the old one so as not to outweigh the plate with the number), and make a new body. Exactly on this occasion - I ask everyone to leave their comments, what are the best materials to use so that it is durable and does not collapse, what to do with the suspension to get rid of the arches in the body. What is the best material to make the body from (sides, bottom)? How to make your own awning? Well, all useful information is welcome!

Modernization of the KMZ-012 tractor

Owners of domestic agricultural technicians have always tried to minimize factory defects or simply improve its performance and comfort by making their own changes to the design. KMZ-012 was no exception.

Replacing the hydraulic pump.

Often craftsmen make or adapt hydrostatic equipment not provided by the manufacturer, for example a front loader. In this case, the power of the standard NSh-6 is usually not enough, and the NSh-10 is installed. No special changes to the design are required.

Installation of a 3-section hydraulic distributor.

Like the previous modernization, it is necessary for working with hydrostatic equipment.

Installation of dual rear wheels.

Often, under heavy loads, the tractor slips and begins to dig in with its rear wheels. In this case, installing twin rear wheels can help. This increases the adhesion area, but the pressure on the ground is significantly reduced. The manufacturer does not provide for such modernization, so turning work is indispensable.

These are the most popular modifications found on KMZ-012. To describe them all, or at least go into detail about the ones presented, would require a separate article.

Buying a used KMZ-012 tractor: features of choice

The KMZ-012 tractor is a completely reliable machine. Both the engine and the gearbox, with proper care, can work flawlessly for years. Therefore, it is difficult to give any special recommendations when choosing a used KMZ.

Pay attention to the general technical condition. Extraneous noise when the engine and gearbox are running. Check the operation of the PTO and hydraulics. Evaluate the condition of the tires, they are far from cheap.

Prices for used KMZ-012 in working condition range from 60 to 250 thousand, depending on the condition and availability of attachments.
