KamAZ error codes allow you to understand and most accurately determine the causes of malfunctions based on the vehicle’s passport data and correctly transmit this information, for example, in the same service. What does the error consist of?

The first character is a letter that determines the type of defective system:

  • P – malfunction of the power unit or transmission (automatic transmission).

  • U – errors associated with the interaction of electronic modules.

The second character is a number that determines the specificity of the malfunction:

  • 1 and 2 – personal codes of the car manufacturer;
  • 3 – reserved information.

The third character determines the type of failure:

  • 1 and 2 – air or fuel supply;
  • 3 – ignition unit, system for detecting misfires of the air-fuel mixture;
  • 4 – additional emission control mechanism;
  • 5 – control of vehicle speed and idle speed;
  • 6 – electronic control modules, as well as their wiring;
  • 7, 8 – errors in the operation of the gearbox;
  • 9, 0 - reserve.

The fourth and fifth digits of the error are a number that corresponds to the serial number of the malfunction.

Possible malfunctions of the ignition system

The ignition system is checked if the starter turns and gasoline is supplied to the engine, but the engine cannot be started. Spark plugs and high-voltage wires are excluded from the list, since these units cannot break down at the same time. If KamAZ does not start, the reasons can only be determined through diagnostics.

How to reset the error?

To reset the ECU (electronic control unit), on a truck you need to do this yourself:

  1. Start the engine of a KamAZ Kamenz or other model and warm it up to operating temperature.
  2. Open the engine compartment of the car and disconnect the positive terminal from the battery. In this state, the battery should last about 5-15 minutes.
  3. The terminal is then connected back to the battery.
