Purpose. The self-propelled forage harvester Jaguar 870 is designed for mowing green grass and picking up dried grass, mowing corn with simultaneous chopping and loading the crushed mass into vehicles.

Construction . Consists of a self-propelled shredder and a PU 300HD pick-up. The shredder includes: a frame, a motor-power unit, a cabin, axles of driving and steered wheels, a hydrostatic drive of running wheels, a chopping apparatus with a V-shaped arrangement of knives with offset, a feeding apparatus with 4 rollers, a metal detector and a stone detector, an accelerator mass, silo pipeline, installation for adding preservatives, drive of working parts, control mechanisms and electrical and hydraulic equipment. The drive of the pick-up and feed rollers is equipped with electro-hydraulic reverse. The combine is controlled using a control panel, a multifunction lever and a monitor from the operator’s workplace.

Agrotechnical assessment. Tests were carried out on the selection of double windrows of dried plant mass with simultaneous loading into vehicles. The cutting length of particles up to 30 mm in size was 62.2% with a set length of 34.0 mm, loss 0.1%.

Reliability. The combine's operating time was 264 hours. 2 refusals were noted. MTBF is 132 hours, availability factor is 0.992. Without taking into account the rejection of natural stones, the availability factor is 1.0.
