Daimler-Chrysler does not want to hear this problem at all. All our reasonable questions are answered - these are your assumptions. The most important thing that strikes you about working with is the approach to solving emerging problems, or rather the complete lack of desire to do anything. Our repeated appeals to the director of the plant, Mr. Dostal (letters dated 12/23/04, 12/28/04, 01/26/05), and subsequently to the President of Daimler-Chrysler, Mr. Schrempp (letters dated 02/03/05). , 02/05/05, 02/15/05) remained unanswered. And based on the first information about technical problems received from us, the technical departments of these companies made decisions as soon as possible and were only grateful to us, because the information received from us allowed them to improve their products and avoid mistakes in the manufacture of cars and semi-trailers in the future. In the case of Daimler-Chrysler, we were faced with complete misunderstanding and neglect. This is despite the fact that in August a serious delegation visited our enterprise. Due to downtime and the associated low turnover, their work is unprofitable and does not provide the opportunity to earn funds to pay for leasing. I don’t know what the designers didn’t think of. But! Doesn't handle the road well. Ruts (not even deep) and all sorts of irregularities. At above-zero temperatures, it’s still tolerable, but at least -1, at least -15, EVERYTHING! So tense! It feels as if the front steering axle is shod with “bald” tires. Even on a straight road with good asphalt, you feel that the car is not firmly on the road. (By the way, this is not just my opinion. Colleagues who have twenty years of Dalnoboi behind them, on different cars, agree with this.) In terms of comfort. The cabin suspension is poor. There is no comparison with Iveka and Renault. On the Axor, the front part of the cabin is generally fixed to the frame without any suspension! Like a Kamaz, tough. And the driver's seat. It’s good in itself, but it feels like they didn’t bother with it and adapted it from some kind of car where half a centimeter is 5 centimeters lower (Where the seat is screwed on). I'll start from afar. I worked for a private owner as a driver on a Japanese truck with right-hand drive (very reliable cars). The time has come to change the car, both with a year younger and with a larger tonnage. The choice fell on Scania, Volvo or Daf. Because These brands have long proven themselves to be reliable on Russian roads. But then an acquaintance of the owner intervened and said: take the Merc and there are no problems with spare parts and there is somewhere to repair it and the car is more reliable (he himself owned and drove a Man TGA). And so. The driver went to Kaliningrad to find the car. They sent photos of different cars, but the choice fell on Actros 2541 single. After several days of negotiations, we were given a time to meet with this handsome man. And it had to be picked up from Ust-Luga (the ferry arrived there) Len region. We set out in a passenger car: I, the Driver and the Employer himself. Arriving at the place, we found a dense forest and a port behind a fence. After spending the night in a cramped car, in the morning we headed out to fill out all these matters. The first impression of what I saw plunged me into the deepest delight! A beautiful white Mercedes proudly standing in a row of 5 ton trucks and tractors that arrived on the same ferry. And here is the moment of acquaintance: we turned the key and a pleasant display with white backlight and a display in the center in Russian lit up! The engine rumbled with a pleasant purring sound. Next are the first driving sensations. Joystick! A very convenient and pleasant thing! The steering wheel is light and the car is very pliable, the wheels can be twisted almost across. The engine is responsive and smooth! The car drives as you press the pedal, but this 89 km limiter prevented the car from showing all its strength. Optics on 4+ are visible well and clearly, but with headlights in which round sections the low beam is better visible. Having driven the car, workdays began! The car showed all the comfort, reliability and ease of operation! There are buttons on the steering wheel (multi-steering wheel) for a very convenient menu and pleasant switching. The visibility from the cab (not an unimportant thing for trucks) is 5+, the low glass panel of the doors without pillars, the mirrors are simply wonderful, no one will slip by unnoticed. Convenient controls are all at hand and nothing superfluous (Man TGA did not think about this). The pedals are pressed pleasantly and effortlessly, the brakes are oh those brakes! They are simply wonderful! An empty car - press the pedal harder, with a load - a little bit of a good deceleration. These brakes have forgiven my mistakes more than once! Thanks to the Germans - they worked conscientiously! And now the most important thing is consumption and maintenance costs. Spare parts are so expensive and are always in stock, there is also a choice of prices - Turkish, all sorts of analogues and the original. As much as anyone's pocket will allow. But the car will sit waiting for spare parts and service stations in Moscow alone there are about 5 dealerships, and I’m not even talking about different garages... Many stations have been opened in Russia. There will be no problems with repairs. And another important fact is that Mercedes keeps the entire history of repairs and maintenance. You can use the VIN code at the dealership to check the history of the car (what was repaired, what was changed, and mileage)

Now about traction on the highway. Merc dies in the mountains. This is not a Daf or a Volvo. If you go uphill at 20k, you need an acceleration of 100-120km, but there’s no way..., it’s tied at 89. It turns out to accelerate at 95-105. But if someone puts you in prison, you will switch more than once. The car is very reliable, the joystick thinks for itself which gear to engage. It’s very pleasant to drive, not like a stick (mechanics). Electrically the car is very reliable, not like the 1st generation. Just go and relax! Like a car! And another not unimportant factor is the electronics!!!1 The car has many different driving safety systems installed! A real truck of the 21st century! Anti-slip, stabilization and directional stability system that prevents it from folding. There is also a load sensor on the trailer axles, which is very convenient. In general, the car is very stuffed with useful electronics and I often drove Dafe, Scania, Mane TGA, Iveco, Volvo. It's not the same. It's not a Merc. Dream truck (as G. Krichevsky sings in the song Truckers). I am glad that I work on a Mercedes Actros MP2 (2nd generation) and wish everyone such a car - reliable, pleasant to maintain and operate!!! This is the truck in which you don’t feel like you’re driving a truck!
