The usual, and probably the most logical, fact is that the vast majority of imported buses sold here are just basic models, modified to suit Russian conditions. It’s all the more pleasant that the Higer company approached the process of passenger transportation from a slightly different angle. Instead of modernizing already developed positions, a new model of the Higer 6119 intercity bus was created specifically for our market. Well, let's see if it was worth the effort?
Over the years of sales, Higer 6119 has already become familiar on our roads, however, even when it first appeared on the market, it was not very noticeable. Classic oriental appearance - simple and functional.

But as always in such cases, there is complete freedom for passengers. Simple shaped windows provide good visibility. A smooth window sill line made it possible to create a level floor throughout the entire cabin , right down to the last row of seats. At the same time, despite the rigid fixation of the seats, it was possible to create comfortable conditions for all passengers, avoiding the so-called “damaged” seats. And this takes into account the fact that the backs of the seats recline to an angle that feels much greater than that of competitors.
Perhaps a luggage compartment with a capacity of 5.15 cubic meters. Some may find it a bit small. In vain, after all, this is not a long-range airliner, but a bus for intraregional transport. In addition, the through compartments, which allow luggage to be removed from any side of the car, are separated in diameter by braces that prevent luggage from moving during sudden braking or acceleration.
While driving the bus, I was not able to experience any supernatural sensations. Higer 6119 turned out to be simple, understandable and, probably, therefore not memorable. After the trip, you simply leave your usual workplace.
The gearshift lever is convenient to use as an armrest - good. Due to its large length, the gears are not switched on quite clearly - that’s bad. A huge windshield with a “double” blade on the driver’s side and convenient mirrors provide excellent visibility forward and backward – good. Due to the small size of the driver's side window and the wide pillar, when entering the acceleration lane, you have to actively turn your head and look out the passenger window, and it is inconvenient to submit documents through the small window, and even more so to talk with inspectors - bad.

The bus confidently accelerates and brakes both with the help of the Telma electromagnetic transmission brake and the main Wabco brake system - good. A speed limiter set at 100 km/h impairs the capabilities of the bus, not reaching the safe limit - bad. And there are many such moments. But the essence is the same - the bus is completely controlled by the driver, who clearly knows what to expect from Higer, what he can and cannot do.
Probably the only combination of the incongruous is the system of mirrors . No matter how well they allow you to control the situation from behind or from the side , they are just as useless when boarding and disembarking passengers. And if the driver sees the first door directly, then what is happening in the area of the second is reliably hidden by the front door in the open position. the camera at the second door helps a lot in this situation . But the problem is that in bright sunshine it turned out to be difficult to make out its image - the monitor is overexposed. And since it is the same for the rear view camera, there are the same problems with the image transmitted from it. To be fair, I note that the clarity, truthfulness of the image and the width of the “coverage” are pleasantly surprising.
An interesting point, however, characteristic of the entire line of Higer intercity buses, is the function of automatically closing the doors when moving away . Moreover, it only works if the bus has been put on the handbrake - a kind of unique way to discipline the driver.
I would like to end my acquaintance with the Higer 6119TQ on one more positive point. In almost every test with Higer buses, we talk about the fact that the Chinese quite quickly make certain changes to the design. Small and not very small, but they are in every model sold, after all, China and Russia are different countries.
It is even more interesting to note that more than 25 different changes . The most significant: additional Henkel sound insulation of the floor above the engine compartment; heating the tank with urea is a relevant solution for our frosts; interior floor heaters were replaced with wall-mounted ones to avoid moisture ingress; function of forced fresh air flow in the windshield heater (in the defroster); wiring with sealed connectors, laid in fireproof corrugations, nipple extensions for inflating the inner wheels of the rear axle (the outer ramp had to be removed); air outlet in the front bumper for tire inflation; The belt drive of the cooling system fan has been replaced with a fan with an electromagnetic clutch, etc.

The Higer KLQ6119TQ tourist bus model, well known on the Russian market, has undergone a radical modernization . Upon closer examination, we found out that compared to its predecessor, the new product has become longer, more spacious, more powerful and more comfortable.
The new 55-seat tourist Higer KLQ6119TQ received the Russian OTTS at the beginning of 2014, and its first appearance to the general public took place at the World of Buses 2014 festival in Kolomna.
In appearance, the car resembles the previous 47-seater model, sold since 2008. This is probably why the manufacturer decided to use the same model index, which introduced some confusion into the catalog. However, the distributor has already found a way out of the situation by adding the prefix “Premium” to the designation of the new bus. This is how it is identified by most clients.
So, Higer KLQ6119TQ “Premium” is a completely new bus that has little in common with its predecessor . When creating it, the Chinese manufacturer was guided by the European competitor MAN Lion's Regio. The main features were increased passenger capacity and comfort . The car, which can accommodate 55 passengers and is 12.5 m long, has a wheelbase of 6200 mm. In terms of capacity, the new product surpasses the 6129 model, which until recently was the flagship of the Higer model range. According to sellers, carriers operating on intercity routes find this model more interesting.
The body was also generally borrowed from the 29th model, only the rear overhang was lengthened. According to the description, the body structure is semi-supporting . This means that spars . Interestingly, the front suspension uses not ordinary trailing arms or leaf springs as a guiding device, but a beam spring with an air spring placed above the axle beam. For ease of maintenance of the chassis components, a standard centralized lubrication system is provided.
While on the move, the bus pleased me with its driving performance. From the passenger's point of view, the car is quite suitable for its purpose. Sufficiently convenient mirrors allow you to control the situation around the car quite well. Higer KLQ6119TQ “Premium” behaves wonderfully on the road: confident acceleration, maneuverability, refined reactions to steering wheel turns, excellent brakes and a soft ride. The 6-speed manual gearbox did not surprise us in any way, but there were no complaints about its performance during our acquaintance.
