Hyundai Aero Town (in Russian pronunciation Hyundai Aero Town, sometimes incorrectly called Hyundai Aerotown) is a middle-class bus designed to carry from 20 to 37+1 passengers, depending on the modification.
Aero Town is in demand all over the world and is therefore regularly updated and improved to meet the requirements of a wide range of customers. These modern Korean buses have a number of advantages and are durable in operation. To protect the body from rust, a special original technology for applying an anti-corrosion coating using the electrolysis method, developed by Korean specialists, is used. The body is treated not only outside, but also inside. And if the bus breaks down, repairing it will not be difficult, since the compartment in which the motor and its accompanying elements are located is quite large in area.
The advantages due to which Hyundai AeroTown buses have gained such high popularity in the world market are economical fuel consumption, inexpensive and widespread spare parts and a guarantee of a high degree of reliability. Characteristics of Hyundai Aero Town
The Hyundai Aero Town middle class bus has the following parameters: its length is 7.5 m (for the Long series - 9 m), width reaches 2.2 m and height without air conditioning is 2.9 m (with it - 3.1 m).
Driving the Hyundai Aero Town is easy and simple. An adjustable steering column helps create a comfortable tilt and steering wheel height for the driver. Hydraulic power steering (power steering) facilitates the driving process, ensuring traffic safety for the passenger and the driver himself. The preheater warms up the engine and interior of the bus without starting the engine. Sun shields protect the driver's eyes from blinding light, which makes it difficult to keep an eye on the road. Air conditioning, a natural ventilation system and a sunroof allow you to create a pleasant, comfortable atmosphere on the bus. As additional components, a water cooler, interior lighting lamps, a TV, a refrigerator, etc. can be installed in the cabin.
Hyundai Aero Town buses manufactured in Korea have three versions of engine development:
- D6DA (Euro 3) - turbodiesel with a power of 225 hp. and working volume 6606 cm3;
- D6DA (Euro 2) - a similar turbodiesel, having a similar displacement (6606 cm3), but featuring lower power of 196 hp;
- D6BR - engine with a power of 185 hp. and a working volume of 7545 cm3.
Buses can accelerate to 120 km/h. The manual transmission comes with five or six speeds.
The suspension of Hyundai Aero Town buses depends on the type of bus model. It happens:
- pneumatic, spring or mixed (spring-pneumatic);
- with hydraulic shock absorbers and anti-roll bars;
- dependent or independent.

The Hyundai Aero Town is in demand around the world and is therefore regularly redesigned and improved to suit the needs of a wide range of customers. For example, Aero Town buses compare favorably with their counterparts due to the anti-corrosion electrolytic treatment of the body, and the layout of the engine compartment makes it possible to easily and quickly repair any component. The bus has a very memorable appearance, which makes it stand out from the crowd.
It is necessary to especially note the anti-corrosion treatment of the Hyundai Aero Town body, carried out in a large tank into which the entire body is immersed. The climate of Korea is characterized by high humidity, which requires very careful consideration of the destructive effects of moisture. Therefore, Korean engineers are considered one of the best anti-corrosion treatment specialists in the world.
From the driver's point of view... Hyundai AeroTown has overall dimensions and weight characteristic of its class: length - 7.5 m or 8.1 m (Long modification), width - 2.2 m, height - 2.9 m (with air conditioning - 3.1 m), but at the same time provides a higher level of comfort for both driver and passengers.

The following engine options are available for Hyundai Aero Town buses: D6BR – diesel with a displacement of 7545 cm3 and a power of 185 hp. D6DA – turbodiesel with a displacement of 6606 cm3 and a power of 225 hp. (Euro 3) These engines are manufactured under license from Mitsubishi (Japan) and with their impeccable performance they have earned a reputation as very reliable and unpretentious units. Hyundai AeroTown is capable of reaching a top speed of up to 120 km/h. The gearbox is manual, five or six speed.
The bus suspension, depending on the modification, can be spring, spring-pneumatic or completely pneumatic, both dependent and independent, with anti-roll bars and hydraulic shock absorbers, which significantly increase the smoothness and softness of the ride.
The bus brake system is dual-circuit and can be either pneumohydraulic or pneumatic. Hill brake and ABS anti-lock braking system are standard.
From the passenger's point of view... The Hyundai AeroTown bus is available in several modifications, which, according to their purpose, can be divided into three groups: urban, suburban and tourist. The urban version of the Hyundai AeroTown has 24-28 seats and up to 40 standing seats and a second sliding door in the middle of the cabin. The commuter version of the Hyundai Aero Town is designed to carry up to 33 passengers. The tourist version of the Hyundai Aero Town has 29-37 soft reclining seats, luggage racks, tinting, and can be equipped with large luggage compartments. It also provides for the installation of a second (emergency) door, which meets Russian requirements for the safety of intercity passenger transportation.
Summary. Due to their reliability and low cost of spare parts, Hyundai Aero Town buses are rightfully considered the most economical vehicles in their class. And the thoughtful design allows the Hyundai Aero Town to surpass its peers in terms of comfort.

Hyundai Aero Town Options
Depending on their purpose, Hyundai Aero Town models are divided into three groups:
- for moving around the city: in this case, city buses can accommodate from 24 to 28 seats and about 40 standing seats, with additional doors in the center of the cabin;
- for suburban transportation: this model is capable of transporting up to 33 people
- for tourist trips: in this version, Aero Town is equipped with 29-37 soft seats with an adjustable backrest, shelves under the ceiling for passengers' belongings, spacious compartments for luggage and tinted windows, and a special emergency exit is provided.

Hyundai Aero Express Hi-Class rear
Aero was developed by Hyundai Motor Company and Mitsubishi Fuso. It was renamed Mitsubishi Fuso Aero Bus. Three options:
- Aero Space: both available for diesel and LNG. Aero Space LD: Short wheelbase, standard deck bus.
- Aero Space LS: short wheelbase, standard deck bus with air suspension.
- Aero Hi-Space: long wheelbase, standard deck bus with air suspension.

It is possible to choose an engine for the bus, it is a pity that they are all diesel and 6-cylinder. All are equipped with a Bosch fuel pump and Spin-on Type fuel filter.
- The basic configuration has a D6BR engine, producing 181 horsepower and 480 H*m of torque with a volume of 7.5 liters. Thanks to the K505A's 5-speed manual transmission as a pair, the maximum speed is only 122 km/h.
- The second unit of the Hyundai Aero Town bears the index D6DA19 and, due to its volume of 6.6 liters, it produces 196 horsepower and 568 units of torque. It is mated to a KH-10 5-speed manual transmission. The maximum speed is 114 km/h.
- The third engine is installed only on the touring model, but technically it is practically no different from the second engine. Index D6DA22 and with the same 6.6-liter volume it already produces 225 horses and 637 H*m of torque. Its maximum speed is 117 km/h.
Everyone is used to diesel engines being turbocharged, but here the base engine is naturally aspirated, while other versions are equipped with a turbine with an intercooler. The drive is always rear-wheel drive, but the cardan that transmits torque to the axle is different.
Hyundai Aero Town driveshaft models:
- D6BR – SI550 1;
- D6DA19 – P8;
- D6DA22 – P10.
The suspension will also differ depending on the version chosen. Either you will get a completely spring design, or a pneumatic one, or a combined one. Pneumatics are of course much more comfortable, but spring ones are reliable. Telescopic shock absorbers will always be installed, and anti-roll bars will also be installed at the front.
The bus stops thanks to dual-circuit, pneumatic drum brakes. They cope with the task completely. Tank volume – 200 liters.
The car has been on the assembly line for a long time, so it was discontinued. Now it can only be purchased on the secondary market where the average price tag is 1.3 million rubles. Tourist versions are much more expensive, even used ones cost about 5 million rubles.
Aero Town is a good business bus that does not stand out from its competitors. The only thing worth purchasing it for is reliability.
