The products of this manufacturer began to be supplied to the Russian market only in the early 1990s, but now the machines can be found on almost every second farm. Although production is carried out at the company’s enterprises in China, for Russian consumers the models are delivered disassembled, and the assembly process already takes place at domestic factories. It is worth noting that when searching for various parts for mini-tractors, some difficulties may arise, since they are manufactured exclusively by the manufacturer’s factories. But even this did not prevent the machines from passing international certification and taking leading positions in the mini-tractor segment.

There are several models in the Xingtai family of mini tractors. The Xingtai 244 minitractor is one of the most powerful, while the Xingtai 120 model is distinguished by its simplicity. And the most affordable version can rightfully be called the Xingtai-220 mini-tractor, which is equipped with a two-cylinder diesel power plant.

The Xingtai 220 can rightfully be called a universal special equipment, since the model is often used on private plots and small farmsteads. Thanks to a fairly wide range of additional mounted and trailed equipment, the mini tractor is capable of performing a very large number of different jobs. The model is used for plowing areas of up to 4 hectares, cultivating, hilling, harrowing, cultivating the soil before sowing, sowing, harvesting, transporting the resulting crop or other goods, clearing the area of ​​debris and dry vegetation, mowing grass, spraying vegetation, as well as when clearing snow.

Despite the fact that over the years the line of Xingtai tractors has expanded significantly (from 220 to 654C), the XT-220 model is still considered the most optimal in terms of price and technical characteristics.

This mini-tractor is multifunctional - it is used both for private purposes and for small farms and small agricultural enterprises. And all this is due to the fact that the Xingtai-220 is equipped with a wide range of attachments. So, with the help of a mini-tractor, you can plant and drip potatoes, plow and cultivate the soil, and also hill up growing plants. And having purchased a mower and a rake, you can prepare fodder hay for livestock. Plus, with the help of the XT-220 you can solve some utility problems: cleaning the territory and transporting goods.

The large dimensions of the Xingtai tractor allow you to work in areas of limited area. The ground clearance of the mini-tractor is 30 cm, and the turning radius is just under 4 meters.

The gearbox has 8 speeds with high and low gears (3+1)x2. This is a standard gearbox for small-sized agricultural machinery, since it is the best option for motorized tractors and the tasks they face. The 22-horsepower engine consumes 189 g/kW of diesel fuel per hour.

Engine

XT-220 is equipped with a two-cylinder four-stroke engine TY-295. This is a more powerful and efficient motor, thanks to which the equipment is capable of performing a number of jobs that are inaccessible to less powerful analogues. The engine starts using an electric starter, which is very convenient for the owner. The liquid cooling system protects the motor from overheating, so the tractor can operate for a long time without interruption. A plunger pump is installed for fuel, and a rotary pump for oil. The engine also has oil and paper fuel filters.

Design of the Xingtai 220 mini-tractor

The Xingtai transmission has a manual transmission with a dry-type single-plate clutch. Dry disc brakes and a differential lock make the tractor very maneuverable. Xingtai 220 can reach speeds from 2 to 29.5 km per hour.

The set of electrical instruments on the panel includes an oil pressure indicator and an ammeter. Headlights and turn signals are also installed.

Despite the fact that in Russia there are no problems with purchasing spare parts for Xingtai equipment, it is worth paying attention to the manufacturer. The thing is that only original parts produced at the Xingtai plant are considered to be of high quality. And the quality of all non-original spare parts, as a rule, leaves much to be desired.

Device Features

During the entire period of mass production, the transmission system of the mini-tractor remained without any changes, while other elements, on the contrary, were improved. The transmission includes a multi-speed manual gearbox and a dry, single-plate clutch. The final drives of the transmission system have spur gears.

The machine is equipped with dry drum brakes, but for working with a trailer, a special pneumatic drive is provided, which is necessary for the functioning of the brakes of trailers and semi-trailers.

The minitractor is standardly equipped with a regulator, generator, headlights, pressure indicators, ammeter, turn indicators, and a battery. Due to the fact that many structural elements, as well as all components, are produced at the manufacturer’s personal enterprises in China, other manufacturers are currently manufacturing them, but it is worth noting that the quality of non-original parts is significantly lower.

The equipment is attached to the mini-tractor using articulated joints. The set of working units is quite diverse and includes a seeder for planting vegetables, a trailer, various plows for plowing the soil, rakes for raking garbage and hay, cultivators, harrows, hillers, various planters, haymowers, potato diggers and a pump for irrigation.

Reliability

In general, the equipment is reliable enough for long-term operation, but one element turned out to be electrical wiring and devices that may fail after a certain time.

Repair features

The Xingtai 220 minitractor is easy to maintain and repair. The owner can independently eliminate this or that malfunction using available tools.

Engine

The main distinguishing feature of this mini-tractor is its power plant. The model is equipped with a two-cylinder four-stroke diesel engine brand TY-295. This engine is started using an electric starter. The motor is protected from overheating by a liquid cooling system. The fuel system includes a plunger type pump. A rotary type oil pump is installed. As for the filter elements, an oil element is used to filter the air when the fuel is cleaned through a paper filter. The nominal crankshaft speed is 2300 rpm. • Recently, I finally stopped being dependent on expensive rental of special equipment, since I purchased a new mini-tractor Xingtai-220, the power of which was quite enough for basic tasks on the site. The assembly was done to the highest quality, which was very pleasing. The control levers, steering column and switches are located very conveniently. But, of course, the low price segment limited the technology in terms of the hydraulic system. This element with several modes can only be obtained by paying additionally. But otherwise, I really liked the mini-tractor; it copes well with a plow and a cultivator.
• Purchasing budget special equipment always presents some negative aspects, regardless of which manufacturer produced it, Chinese or European. I came across this experience personally when I purchased a new Xingtai 220. So, for some reason, the manufacturer decided to save on the equipment of the machine. It has no equipment, no brackets for attaching the awning, no roll bar. Although other models have this, at least the initial equipment for sure. I was very surprised by the designers’ decision to combine the universal mechanism of a three-point hitch with a primitive hydraulic system. Well, if you don’t take all this into account, the Xingtai mini-tractor turned out to be quite a good machine.

Price new and used

This mini-tractor is a representative of compact special equipment in the inexpensive price segment. The cost of a new one starts from 150 thousand rubles. This price is valid for earlier models in the basic configuration. The cost of more recent models varies from 180 thousand rubles to 200 thousand Russian rubles.

Used equipment costs from 95 thousand to 145 thousand Russian rubles. In this case, the price fluctuates depending on the year of production, the technical condition of the mini-tractor, as well as its mileage.
