The main purpose of the URB-2A2 drilling rigs is to drill water intake, blasting, geophysical and exploratory wells, and carry out exploration work for PI deposits.

Drilling rig URB 2A-2 based on ZIL 131
The URB-2A-2 exploratory drilling rig is designed for drilling geophysical and structural exploration wells for oil and gas using a rotary method with cleaning the bottom of the well by washing, purging or transporting the destroyed rock to the surface with augers. The installation has a moving rotator with a hydraulic drive, which is used in the drilling process, extending the drilling tool without removing it from the bottom and, together with the hydraulic lift, performs the work of lowering and lifting the tool and feeding it during drilling. Drilling is carried out using a rotary method with flushing or purging of the well or augers. The URB 2A2 installation is powered by the car engine. A hydraulically driven rotator moving along the mast is used when drilling, extending the drilling tool without detachment from the bottom and, together with the hydraulic lift, performs the work of lowering (raising) the tool and feeding it during drilling. The rotator moves along the mast using a hydraulic cylinder and a traveling system. The hydraulic mechanism for lowering and lifting and feeding the tool provides optimal feeding force, including when drilling with air hammers, and allows for highly efficient drilling in rocks of any hardness category. The installation control is completely hydraulic and concentrated on the driller's console. The control panel contains control devices and regulators for face force, feed and lifting speeds, as well as rotator spindle speed.

Main characteristics
This model is most often mounted on the ZIL-131 base. This is its standard equipment, which ensures increased maneuverability of the unit and a wide range of applications. The URB 2a2 model can be installed on a tracked or sled base. But this is additional equipment that must be ordered separately. The uninterrupted operation of the unit is ensured by the wheelbase engine. It is not able to function without additional equipment. The URB 2a2 model is completely manufactured using Russian technology from domestic spare parts. This reduces the cost of operating and repairing equipment.
This exploration-type unit can be used for drilling wells up to 300 m deep. It is also used to form channels designed to supply water, which can be used for drinking or technical purposes.
The advantage of the installation is that during operation simultaneous washing or blowing is carried out. At the same time, the drilling process itself does not stop. Also, the process of working with the URB 2a2 model is optimized, since the extension of the drilling tool occurs without separation from the face surface. If drilling is carried out using pneumatic hammers, the optimal operating pressure on the bottom is maintained at all times. This is possible thanks to a hydraulic cylinder. This mechanism provides feeding, raising and lowering of the working tool.
