Distinctive properties

Since 2009, a modification of the mobile drilling rig has been supplied to the market, which has the following features compared to the previous version:

• designed to operate from -40 to +40 degrees;
• especially durable construction of the working mast;
• the speed of movement of the rotator is significantly increased;
• the winch has become much stronger, it is easy to operate and maintain;
• the hydraulic cylinder allows you to move the rotator away from the well;
• the hydraulic system of the device has become even more powerful, this figure reaches 10,000 kgf;
• the drill itself can be transformed into a conductor.

Features of PBU-2 equipment

This drilling machine has two main modifications:

• On a non-self-propelled chassis.
• Based on a chassis from trucks characterized by an increased level of cross-country ability.

Drilling rigs PBU-2

If the drilling rig is installed on its own frame, then the drive is provided by the power take-off for the motors of the vehicles on the chassis of which it is mounted. Often the equipment includes a diesel autonomous engine, due to the presence of which the unit is placed on any self-propelled platforms or on full-fledged vehicles.

The design feature of the installation for drilling wells is that the operator’s platform in it is removable. This is also a safer option. It is located near the base of the mast on the frame, where all the control systems of the unit are located. Often, a hydraulic jack is additionally included in their package. It guarantees increased stability of the installation during drilling operations.

Without fail, drilling equipment in this category is equipped with a set of tools depending on the required types of drilling process (possibly dry drilling and other options). It includes drills, augers and other devices.

Design features

The PBU-2 machine has a base with an automatic diesel engine. This feature perfectly combines the installation with other running frames: ZIL, URAL, KamAZ, MAZ, tracks.

The basic elements are:

• Winch. It allows rope systems to be dropped.
• Rotator. The design allows the tool to be removed from the drilling site in order to carry out other actions or operations. When hydraulics are connected, this element acts on the drill at the very start of work.
• Deck-type power apparatus. It significantly reduces depreciation, fuel consumption, and reduces the cost of operating equipment.
• Hydraulic jacks. They improve balancing and also allow you to securely and accurately fix the machine before drilling.
• Machine control system. It is installed on the running frame at the mast attachment point.

In order to create comfortable operating conditions, the equipment is equipped with a mobile platform for the driver to work.

Drilling rig PBU 2

The installation provides:

• drilling with augers with a diameter of up to 400 mm

• rotary impact drilling with a diameter of up to 250 mm using submersible pneumatic impact machines
• drilling with flushing/purging with a diameter of up to 190.5 mm
• dry core drilling with a diameter of up to 151 mm

The PBU-2 drilling rig can be installed on various vehicles: off-road vehicles and chassis type AMUR-531300 (ZIL-131), URAL, KAMAZ, TT-4 tractor, TGM-126 transport tracked vehicle, MTLBu, TLT-100A tractor , on a sled base and other chassis.

The drilling rig is mounted on its own frame driven by an autonomous diesel engine, which makes it possible to mount it on mobile vehicles that do not have their own engine or on which power take-off is impossible. The use of a deck power unit makes it possible to reduce depreciation of a vehicle engine and significantly reduce fuel consumption. At the request of the customer, a modification of the drilling rig is produced that is driven by the transport base engine.

A movable rotator with a mechanical drive in combination with a powerful hydraulic feed mechanism makes it possible to create a significant axial load on the rock cutting tool from the first meters of drilling.

The design of the drilling rig rotator makes it possible to move it away from the well axis to perform tripping operations, installing casing strings and implementing cable-percussion drilling technology using a drawworks.

The drilling rig controls are located at the base of the mast on the rig frame. For ease of control, the drilling rig is equipped with a removable drilling operator's platform. Hydraulic jacks are provided to level the installation before starting work.

Modifications

The universal drilling machine PBU-2 has two generations. The first category includes equipment manufactured before 2009.

The PBU-2 machine of the 300th production series is a modernized system, which was released in 2009. This is the so-called second generation.

All modification models are divided into three group blocks:

1. Systems without a transport base, for example, model PBU-2-368.
2. Machines powered by deck-type engine energy. The most striking example is the machine models PBU-2 318, PBU-2 307, PBU-2 336, PBU-2 354, PBU-2 371.
3. Machines driven by a motor on a car chassis. Typical representatives of this group are modification models PBU-2-346P, PBU-2 305P, PBU-2 317P, PBU-2 326P, PBU-2 372P.
