In terms of design, the Polaris WideTrack LX 500 is a classic wide-track all-terrain vehicle. American production guarantees high quality components and reliability of equipment. Excellent characteristics allow the model to effectively perform any task in the Russian winter. The device does not lose maneuverability regardless of where it is moving and obediently carries out the driver’s commands.

The Polaris WideTrack LX 500 handles like a four-wheel drive vehicle. Even in deep snow, the equipment seems to float rather than ride. The new braking system ensures quick stopping even under unexpected braking, and the fuel tank allows you to travel long distances without additional refueling stops. The powerful unit, heated steering grips, DC power supply and adjustable rear suspension make the ride as comfortable as possible. The driver's seat has an adjustable backrest, which adds comfort when moving. There is a large luggage compartment under the seat. The sloping rear tunnel and wide skis improve the vehicle's maneuverability, allowing it to travel in areas inaccessible to other snowmobiles.

Externally, Polaris WideTrack LX 500 looks very modern (blue color). The basic package of the model includes:

  • electric starter;
  • accelerator lever and grip heaters;
  • rear trunk;
  • towing device;
  • 12V socket;

  • oil level indicator;
  • high transparent windshield;
  • temperature sensor;
  • fuel sensor.

Additionally, mirrors and steering wheel grips are installed. The model has a simple design and high maintainability, so some repair work on the snowmobile can be performed in the field.

Polaris WideTrack LX 500 is a simple and reliable equipment that has the optimal combination of price and quality.

Engine

The Polarus WideTrack LX500 snowmobile has a two-stroke gasoline engine. The EC50PL Fudi Heavy 488CC motor has a liquid cooling system that prevents overheating, which is very important during prolonged load at high speeds. The engine can be used in the northern regions of Russia due to the fact that it is well adapted to low temperatures. The power plant has two carburetors designed to improve the starting process in cold weather. In addition, the power plant is equipped with a protection system that is activated when the internal combustion engine temperature reaches more than 75 degrees, but this happens very rarely. For example, practice has shown that this engine works quite well even at 90 degrees Celsius - largely thanks to that same carburetor system.

With a working volume of only 0.5 liters, the two-cylinder petrol unit develops 85 horsepower and consumes an average of 30 liters during moderate driving. The role of the starting system is performed by a single pipe, and the ignition system is CDI technology. Type of mixture formation – two-carburetor VM34. To ensure optimal range, the power unit is equipped with a fuel tank with a volume of 41.6 liters, and average fuel consumption at 60 km/h is about 30 liters per 100 km. When reaching a maximum speed of 90 km/h, this figure increases to 40 liters per 100 km. The manufacturer recommends using gasoline with an octane rating of at least 92. As for other consumables, Polaris has made the car economical in terms of oil consumption. Its consumption is 1:40.

Recommended price

The model has already been discontinued, so you won’t be able to buy a new truck without mileage. The most recent all-terrain vehicle that can be found on used equipment sites dates back to 2015.

The price of this truck depends on the year of manufacture, kilometers traveled and general technical condition. Varies between 320 – 690 thousand rubles. Thus, a 2010 all-terrain vehicle with a mileage of 3 thousand km will cost 370 thousand rubles, and a 2013 model with a mileage of more than 5 thousand km will cost 475 thousand rubles. The most expensive bike will be a 15-year-old bike that has covered about 100 km. Less than 320 thousand rubles. older models from the 1990s will cost.

Reviews

  • Semyon, Krasnoyarsk. This device was purchased in 2011. The machine immediately went into service, it was my first snowmobile, and I couldn’t wait to try it out in harsh conditions. The car drives excellently in the snow, however, that’s what it’s designed for. The travel modes are as follows: I go hunting in fields and forests twice a month, with the total length of the route being 100 km. Thus, the round trip is 200 km. My friend has a Yamaha Wiking 540, which is definitely worse than the Polaris in terms of handling. The machine is equipped with liquid cooling, thanks to which you don’t have to worry about the engine overheating. In addition, it will never freeze even at minus 35 degrees Celsius. The handle is heated to prevent your hands from freezing at high speed (under the influence of wind). Overall, the snowmobile turned out to be successful and economical.
  • Yaroslav, Irkutsk. I have owned the Polaris WideTrack LX500 snowmobile for three years. I have two impressions from the car. Firstly, I’ll say that the device immediately impressed me with its power and dynamics, but with tongue-twisting. At the same time, I can definitely say that the snowmobile moves confidently even at minus 30 degrees, nothing freezes. But over time, the build quality and the design as a whole began to deteriorate - I mean, some parts began to fall off. After just two years, it was time to change the pistons, which had to be ordered from abroad. Three is expensive. Over time, shortcomings also appeared in the suspension, which began to weaken and knock noticeably, and vibrations from it transferred to the steering column. It often breaks through shock absorbers, and sometimes it gets to the point where the bolts are destroyed, and some screws need to be tightened regularly. Factory fastenings are unreliable, freeze and break. In short, what I liked most about this car was the engine. He seems alive and perky. But it’s unlikely that I would purchase this model a second time.
  • Boris, Novosibirsk. Overall I liked the Polaris WideTrack LX500, but its age is still showing. At the moment, the mileage is 5000 km, which was completed in two years. Naturally, there were breakdowns, and I’ll start with them. Most of the problems relate to the suspension, in which the springs at the front and rear had to be replaced. The bolt securing the front trailing arm also wore out quickly. Unfortunately, I waited a very long time for the necessary parts to arrive. In terms of carrying capacity, the snowmobile showed its best side - for example, you can easily transport up to 400 kg at a temperature of minus 40 degrees. Fuel consumption at a calm pace does not exceed 20 liters, and you can fill in 92-grade gasoline. Overall, the car justified itself for hunting trips.
  • Vladimir, Vladivostok. Over two years of operation, the meter of my snowmobile shows a mileage of more than 5 thousand kilometers. The machine is used as a “tug” - for transporting sleighs, and even with large cargo containers. Of course, the equipment entered regular use immediately after the test run, which lasted several hundred kilometers. The load weighs 300 kg, the flight is normal - the snowmobile pulls confidently at a speed of 30-35 km/h. The main part of the journey is 300 kilometers, and during this time the car consumes 75 liters of 92-octane gasoline. Over the course of two years, the suspension performed well, except that a couple of bolts were lost. The engine pulls great and starts at minus 20, but after that it is not always possible to start on the first try.
