The operation of the Vogele 1900-2 asphalt paver consists of supplying the working mixture to the hopper, from where it is distributed among the auger chambers using scraper conveyors. After this, the mixture is distributed from the chambers over the coating. In this case, the main operating parameters are set in advance using an automatic sensitive system. The density and thickness of the layer is regulated by a timber unit, and a heated slab levels the asphalt surface. The width of the laid strip is set in accordance with the project.

Characteristic features of the machine:

  • the ability to adjust the width of the slab from three to six meters using a hydraulic drive;
  • leveling Vogel Super 1900-2 based on sensors of the Nivelltronic Plus system;
  • installation of a diesel-electric engine;

Purpose and features

The Vogele Super 1900-2 crawler-mounted unit falls into the category of heavy machines used in road construction. The hydraulically extendable screed plate forms a six-meter strip in one pass. Mechanical devices for widening the working area increase the strip to 8.5 m.

Device Features:

Engine

The machine is equipped with a power unit manufactured by Deutz with a volume of 7.14 liters. This is a six-cylinder in-line model with a power of 142 kW and runs on diesel fuel. The torque from the motor is sent to the hydraulic system pump group and the alternator. The latter is designed to increase the temperature of the rod electrodes. The compression ratio is 16/1, the power unit is equipped with turbocharging. Movement in working and transport modes is carried out by means of hydraulic motors of a crawler carriage. The engine is equipped with a Deutz Common Rail direct fuel mixture supply system.

The developers of the Vogele Super 1900 asphalt paver took care of maintaining the operating temperature of the mixture, even if the machine is idling. This is possible thanks to the installation of a three-phase generator with a settings system.

Power is produced not only by diesel fuel, but also by electricity, which reduces the amount of exhaust. The diesel tank is designed for 450 liters.

Kinematics of the unit

Torque from the diesel engine is transmitted to the hydraulic system pump group and an alternating current generator, which ensures heating of the rod electrodes. Movement in the work and transport cycles is carried out by hydraulic motors of the crawler carriage.

Chassis

The model is equipped with a hydraulic device that combines the functions of a motor and a planetary gearbox (motor-gearbox), connected by a chain to the track sprocket. The latter has 9 road wheels that transfer the weight load to the supporting surface.

Important! Disc brake mechanisms completely block the movement of the caterpillar tracks in the absence of pressure in the hydraulic system. They do not require regular maintenance; they are located in the final drive.

Devices for transporting and distributing mixtures

Screw augers that distribute the mixture allow changing blades and are adjusted in height simultaneously with the channel sheets and supports of the auger chamber. The adjustment drive is mechanical.

Two scraper conveyors ensure filling of the chambers and allow the replacement of scrapers and conveyor bottom sheets.

The screws and conveyors operate from hydrostatic drives, allow mode reversal, and are controlled by mechanical limit switches.

The auger chamber is completely filled automatically when the unit is stopped. The machine is supplied with left and right auger extensions 65 cm long.

Executive agency. The mechanism consists of a block for compacting and a plate for smoothing the mixture. The device is connected to the unit frame by support arms through a swivel joint and is fixed in working position by hydraulic jacks.

The effective operation of the executive body is ensured by vibration of the base of the plate (the vibration frequency is set by the operator) and its electric heating.

The degree of compaction after passing through the unit is 98%, which, according to equipment manufacturers, makes it possible to do without additional rolling. The road workers do not support this point of view, re-launching heavy rollers along the newly formed lane.

The machine, at the buyer’s request, is equipped with:

  • a standard executive body in a block design with retractable widening devices - expanded hydraulically;
  • mechanical expansion devices in the amount of one to three;
  • up to three versions of working units, easily assembled from main and additional sectional kits.

Chassis

The track sprocket consists of nine road wheels that distribute the total weight of the machine onto the support part. It is connected by a chain to a hydraulic unit that works as a motor and a planetary gearbox at the same time.

Devices for transporting and distributing mixtures

The capacious bunker is designed for 14 tons of working ready-mix. It is equipped with an on-board damper, which allows access for technical work. Dynamic impacts are minimized by installing a shock-absorbing shaft, to which the dump truck drives closely and unloads the mixture.

The high technical characteristics of Vogele Super 1900 and productivity are achieved thanks to the high-quality distribution of the mixture. Screw augers are repairable; their blades are removable so they can be replaced as they wear out. They have mechanical height adjustment and are adjusted together with the camera supports and channel sheets.

The auger chamber goes into automatic mode when the engine is turned off. Two auger extenders are included as standard.

The timber is used to compact the working mixture on the base; the slab is designed to level the finished coating. The slab and timber are combined into a single system called the executive body. The structure is also connected to the machine frame using hinges; the mount with support arms is fixed using hydraulic jacks. The base of the slab vibrates, thereby compacting the mixture and providing a more even surface. The plate temperature and oscillation frequency are set by the operator.

After laying the strip, its compaction reaches 98%, which makes it possible to avoid re-rolling. This is the manufacturer's opinion, however, to improve efficiency, road construction workers use heavier rollers to maximize pavement density.

Vogele Super 1900 2 is equipped with a tracked undercarriage with a bogie sprocket made up of 9 road wheels, allowing the weight of the equipment to be distributed as evenly as possible on the supporting surface. The sprocket is connected to the hydraulic apparatus using a chain. Maneuvering the machine is carried out by reducing or changing the direction of movement of one of the tracks, each of which has a hydrostatic drive.

Braking is carried out using disc brake mechanisms, which, in the absence of pressure in the hydraulic system, block the movement of the caterpillar belt. The brake elements are located in the final drive and require no maintenance.

The hydraulic device of this model simultaneously performs the functions of an engine and a gearmotor. Automatic system control is optionally available.

Vogel Super 1900 2 is equipped with a basic working body in a block design and expansion devices (expanded hydraulically). The plate can be supplemented with mechanical extenders (from 1 to 3 pieces). Additional options provide high quality styling (vibration, heating, etc.). The working mixture is compacted using a beam, which is a single structure with a slab. Additional compaction is carried out by vibration of the slab base, which ensures the most even surface. The work is carried out in conjunction with analog tracking of compliance of the road laying trajectory with the project. Geodetic work in this case consists of constructing a tracing string, which is a guideline for road construction work. A multi-leg and short ski is also installed. An analog sensor uses a probe to detect deviations and transmit data for processing to the controller. Next, the hydraulics come into play - the position of the Vogele Super 1900-2 asphalt paver plate is adjusted using hydraulic cylinders. All these processes occur automatically. In reality, the consistency of the controller and hydraulic system is less important than the experience and ability of the operator and machine operator.

It is also possible to use digital devices that interact with lasers and ultrasound. Thanks to modern technologies, interaction between the on-board computer and digital devices has become possible. Therefore, the accuracy of volumetric profiling is high and this allows you to abandon geodetic work.

The Nivelltronic Plus system is part of ERGO Plus and is designed for leveling the working element. Its main elements, such as cables and connectors, are manufactured at the factory. Information from the sensors is transmitted quickly, its visual perception is quite simple, the function designations are diagrammatic.

There are three types of sensors. The first of them is of a mechanical type, allowing you to determine the height of a point using probes (skis) and string brackets. The second type is ultrasonic, intended for the same purposes. The third - Big-Multiplex-Ski, consists of three ultrasonic sensors connected together on a thirteen-meter beam. Used to determine long-term profile deviations. All data from them is transferred to the receiver, where the information is processed. It is included in the basic package together with laser stations.

Control. Automatic systems

The main function is the formation of the design profile of the road surface on the ground while observing technologies for continuous laying of the mixture.

Analog devices set the base surface using a carbon string, a multi-support and a short ski pre-set by surveyors. The sensor probe, sliding along the string, transmits deviation signals from the design marks to the controller.

The hydraulic system, in response to control commands from the controller, raises or lowers the slab through a system of hydraulic cylinders. In practice, it is difficult to achieve coordinated operation of the controller and hydraulic system; the experience and qualifications of the machine operator and plant operator have a decisive influence on the quality of the profile.

Digital devices use laser and ultrasonic point height sensors. Existing standards of modern interfaces allow, with sufficient accuracy parameters, to combine a 3D profiling system with the hydraulic system of an asphalt paver, eliminating the work of surveyors in placing road profile points on the ground.

Niveltronic Plus

The device is fully integrated into the ERGO Plus unit control system and ensures the operation of the actuator. Connectors and cables are factory installed. All sensors are recognized automatically, the interface is simple, functions are indicated by clear icons.

Purpose of sensors:

  • heights (mechanical) – probes in the form of skis, staples for tracing wire;
  • point height (ultrasonic);
  • Big-Multiplex-Ski - a unit of three sensors using ultrasonic radiation, mounted on a 13-meter beam to process the profile of extended irregularities.

All sensors are linked through a laser radiation receiver, which allows working with web profiles over large areas. The delivery set includes laser stations and a GPS signal receiver-processor.
