Zetor headquarters in Brno
Zetor

(since January 1, 2007 officially
Zetor Tractors as)
is a tractor brand, trademark and Czech manufacturer based in Brno, Lisen.
Since June 29, 2002, the sole shareholder is the Slovak company HTC Holding
. The company produces agricultural tractors and components for tractors (engines or transmissions).

Zetor is the first manufacturer in the world to develop and launch the production of safety tractors. cabins.[2] Over its 70-year history, Zetor has sold more than 1.3 million tractors.[3] Currently, the Zetor portfolio includes six model ranges ranging from 40 to 160 hp.

Abroad, Zetor is represented by seven branches in North America, Great Britain, France, Germany, Poland, Slovakia and India. In 2015, 86% of all company products were sent to foreign countries. In addition to traditional markets such as Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Germany, also in the UK, France, Ireland and Lithuania.[1]

Name

Name Zetor

, which later became the name of the brand and which was used by the state company to designate tractors, was created by Rostislav Sapak, a member of the economic department, in the spring of 1946.
The name is formed from the syllable Zet
(the spelling of the letter
Z
in the alphabet is the first letter of the name Armory) and the suffix
-or
from the word
tractor
. [4] Or, accordingly, from the word agricultural tractor, in Czech: “ZEmědělský trakTOR” (other cryptonyms for name).

The TZ 4K 14 tractor has a wide range of mounted implements

The Czech mini tractor can be combined with various types of mounted implements, including a dump trailer, a harrow mower, a plow, a brush, and a blade. A single-axle metal trailer is used to transport various loads weighing up to 1,000 kg. The trailer is equipped with a removable rear wall and can be tilted backwards, making it much easier to unload. The trailer has overall dimensions (l x w x h) 2,630 x 1,700 x 980 mm. The mower attached to the TZ 4K 14 is the best option in cases where it is not possible to use a conventional tractor with a side mower, for example on small plots, in parks or gardens.

A bulldozer blade is used to clear areas of snow or level the soil. The big advantage is the ability to quickly install/dismantle the blade on a mini tractor and easy control of the unit. The blade width is 1,000 mm and the rotation angle is 45°. A sweeper is used to clean sections of the road or other places from dust. The drive mechanism is protected against dust.

Another tool that can be mounted with a mini tractor is a mounted milling cutter. Its main purpose is the processing of dry clay and clay-silt plowing, mixing the soil with compost or manure, as well as loosening the soil in wide-row crops and removing weeds. The reversible plow is used for smooth plowing; its working width is 250 mm. The plow has a design that allows the layer of earth to be laid in one direction. It is recommended to use it on small, irregularly shaped areas. The plowing depth reaches 21 cm. The row spacing of fruit nurseries is processed using a ripper. The maximum loosening depth of the unit is 6-8 cm, and the working width is 85 cm.

The versatile, convenient and durable Czech-made mini tractor TZ 4K 14 is indispensable in cases where more powerful equipment cannot be used. Possessing a significant margin of safety and having a simple operating principle, the tractor will please its owner, because frequent breakdowns during operation are excluded. The price of TZ 4k14 is about 175,000 rubles, however, there are not many advertisements for the sale of these tractors.

Story

Zetor 25 A (1954-1961) Zetor 50 Super, 1963
The history of ZETOR begins in 1946, when in Zbrojovka Brno. It received the marking Zetor 25, and mass production of these machines was launched without a single obstacle. Mass production of ZETOR tractors began on August 7, 1946, and the ZETOR trademark was registered in the same year. By 1947, approximately 3,400 units had been produced. In 1948 it was approved for the production of the Zetor 15, which was produced until 1949. The Zetor 25A and 25K were produced until 1961 and 158,570 were produced, of which 97,000 were exported.[5] The Zetor 35 with a 42 hp four-cylinder engine was produced from 1955-1960, and then as an upgraded version of the Zetor 50 until 1968.

In 1952, ZETOR moved to a new location in Brno, Lisen, where tractors are still produced today.

In the late 1950s, ZETOR was the first to introduce the innovative and unique concept of using standardized parts for the production of tractors throughout the world. The Unified Series I (UŘ I.) was launched with the 2011, 3011 and 4011 models with two, three and four cylinder engines. In 1968, the Unified Series II (UŘ II.) was introduced; it had many innovative features of the time, such as the world's first rollover protection system mounted on vibration isolators. The new cabin also helps keep cabin noise levels below 85 dB. Thanks to these innovative techniques, the ZETOR brand has gained recognition throughout the world and taken first place among the world's tractor manufacturers.

Soon, in the 1970s, the first six-cylinder tractor, ZETOR CRYSTAL 12011, was developed. In 1976, ZETOR became the name of the brand and company. The company continued to grow and the Unified Series III was released in 1991; it underwent an innovation process at the turn of the millennium and received the trademark ZETOR FORTERRA.

The Unified Series III (UŘ III.) was launched in 1992 with the 7520, 7540, 8520, 8540, 9520, 9540 and 10540 82-103 horsepower models introduced as the "Model 92". In 1994 it was expanded with the 7320 Turbo and 7340 Turbo models. In 1997, production of the 3321 super-7341 super turbo models began, introduced as the "Model 97".

For the ZETOR brand, the turn of the millennium was revolutionary. A well-established Czech brand of agricultural machinery could disappear as the state-owned enterprise faces bankruptcy. Around the same time, HTC Holding as from Slovakia made history and in June 2002 became the owner of ZETOR. When new owners took over the company, they invested money to stabilize it and, in turn, restructure it.

User manual

The Czech TZ tractor is distinguished by high reliability, good quality components and mechanisms, economical fuel consumption of 210 g/l, and maintains stable operating parameters throughout the overhaul period declared by the manufacturer.

First start

The operating instructions' recommendations for break-in include careful and careful testing of all operating systems during the first 25-50 hours of operation. During this period, it is recommended to perform all work, avoiding increased loads, at reduced speeds.

Correct implementation of all these recommendations is the key to long-term operation of the mini tractor.

After the recommended period, change the engine oil, transmission oil, engine oil filter, and perform other manipulations in accordance with the manual.

Maintenance

Maintenance of a Czech mini tractor comes down to the following simple steps:

  • It is necessary to regularly clean the body of the minitractor from dust and oil stains.
  • Monitor tire pressure.
  • Every 50-100 hours of operation, adjust the clutch and brake pedals.

Upon completion of field work, conservation is carried out, namely:

  • clean the tractor from dirt, dry it,
  • drain oil and fuel,
  • lubricate parts to prevent corrosion from forming,
  • cover and place in a dry place.

It is operated safely thanks to the presence of signaling and lighting equipment.

The machine is not demanding on the quality of diesel fuel, oil and lubricants; during maintenance, the necessary consumables are used for equipment of this class.

Basic malfunctions and ways to eliminate them

Repair work on the TZ-4k-14 minitractor does not require special equipment, so even complex breakdowns can be repaired on your own. Much more problems arise due to the lack of full-fledged service and necessary spare parts; owners have to use components and consumables from similar tractor models.

Diagram of the mini tractor TZ-4k-14 Deutz

The clutch does not transmit torque:

  • There is no free play of the pedal (it needs to be adjusted);
  • The drive discs are worn out or have oil stains (they need to be replaced or cleaned);
  • The discs on the splines are jamming (you should check their position and, if necessary, remove the jamming).

Attachment does not lift:

  • The oil level in the hydraulic system has dropped below the minimum mark (add oil);
  • The hydraulic pump is turned off (turn it on);
  • The hydraulic safety valve is stuck (disassemble and clean the valve).

The brake does not work well:

  • The free play of the pedal has increased (adjust its position);
  • The brake disc or pad is worn out (replace the relevant parts).

Gearbox overheats:

  • Small gear or bearing clearance (adjust);
  • Lack of oil or its low quality (add oil that is suitable for this model to the required level);

Starter does not work:

  • Broken or poor contact of the wire (solder or connect it);
  • Weak battery charge (charge it);
  • Short circuit (clean the commutator surface or replace the brushes);
  • Poor contact of the magnetic switch (tighten the switch travel by 2-3 turns).

Currently, there are service centers engaged in servicing, selling TZ mini tractors after major and medium repairs, and selling spare parts.

Service

Czechoslovakian mini-tractors are quite unpretentious and do not require expensive maintenance

However, given that the average age of models exceeds 20 years, special attention should be paid to regular maintenance, which is recommended every 200 hours of operation. So, it is necessary to inspect the equipment weekly and remove carbon deposits from the exhaust pipe.

You also need to monitor the condition of the fuel filter and, if necessary, replace it on time. In addition, it is necessary to regularly change the oil in the transmission system and tighten the cylinder head bolts.

When using equipment intensively, it is necessary to monitor the condition of the tire tread and swap them for more even wear. Strict adherence to maintenance recommendations and operating instructions will ensure trouble-free operation of the mini-tractor and will also significantly extend its service life.

In the next video you will find recommendations for setting up the lubrication pump of the TZ-4K 14 mini-tractor.
