Model range and characteristics of KAMAZ dump trucks

Among the KamAZ product range, the line of dump trucks, which differ in production and sales volumes, especially stands out. KamAZ dump trucks are attractive primarily for their technical characteristics. These trucks are focused on given local conditions: they can transport cargo both on the road and in the field. The entire line of KamAZ dump trucks is divided into several groups according to the following parameters: functional purpose, volume of the dump truck and tipping method. KamAZ dump trucks have three tipping methods - side, rear and universal.

KamAZ dump trucks with side body tipping include models 45144-061, 65115-043-62, 45281, 45282 and 45143. Models of KamAZ dump trucks with rear body tipping include: 43255-012, 55111-015-15, 65111-013-6 2 , 65115-044-62, 65115-017, KAMAZ 6540, 6520-006, 6520-010-61, 6520-028-06, 65201-011-60 and 6522-027. Universal body tipping allows unloading from two sides - side and rear. This series includes the following series of KamAZ dump trucks: 45142-010-15, 55102, 65115-045-62 and 6520-010-60.

As for the scope of use, KamAZ dump trucks are most widely used in agricultural production and on construction sites. The model range of dump trucks for construction work offers only two types of tipping - side and rear.

Dump trucks used in agricultural production have a load capacity of 7-14 tons. One of the features of these dump truck models is the versatility of body tipping. In addition, these trucks are in most cases equipped with sides that have additional extensions necessary for transporting hay. Such vehicles are unloaded on two and three sides.

Now in terms of dump truck platform volumes. KamAZ trucks, designed for universal body tipping, have a dump platform volume of 7-11 cubic meters. meters. The newest models of such dump trucks have increased the volume to 16 cubic meters. Trucks that have a rear unloading type have a smaller body volume - 6.3-11 cubic meters. meters. However, the new rear dump models also have a 16 cubic meter body.

The body volume of a KamAZ dump truck with side tipping varies from 18.8 to 22 cubic meters. m. The volume of the truck also increases due to the fact that the flatbed trucks are extended with additional extensions on the side of the body.

KamAZ vehicles with a 6x4 wheel arrangement are designed for operation at ambient temperatures of plus 40... minus 40 °C, relative air humidity up to 80% at 20 °C, dust content up to 1.0 g/m3, wind speed up to 20 m/s and areas located at an altitude of no more than 3000 m above sea level.

KamAZ vehicles are divided into two groups.

The first group is vehicles intended for use on roads of all categories, with an axle weight of up to 60 kN (6 tf). This group includes:

  • KamAZ-5320 is a tractor-trailer with an onboard platform with a load capacity of 8000 kg, designed to work with a trailer with a total weight of 11500 kg; basic trailer mod. 8350 with a lifting capacity of 8000 kg;
  • KamAZ-5410 (Fig. 2) is a truck tractor with a fifth-wheel load of 81 kN (8.1 tf), designed to operate with a semi-trailer with a gross weight of 19,100 kg; basic semi-trailer mod. 9370 with a lifting capacity of 14200 kg; KamAZ-55102 is a dump truck-tractor with a carrying capacity of 7000 kg, equipped with a platform that unloads on the sides, and designed to work with a trailer with a total weight of 11500 kg; basic tipper trailer mod. 8527 with a lifting capacity of 7000 kg, unloading on the sides.

The second group is vehicles intended for operation mainly on roads of categories I…III, with an axle weight of up to 80 kN (8 tf). This group includes:

  • KamAZ-55111 - designed for transportation of various bulk construction and industrial cargo with a total weight of up to 13,000 kg on roads designed for the movement of vehicles with an axle load of 100 kN (10 tf);
  • KamAZ-53212 is a tractor-trailer with an onboard platform with a load capacity of 10,000 kg, designed to work with a trailer with a total weight of 14,000 kg; basic trailer mod. 8352 with a lifting capacity of 10,000 kg;
  • KamAZ-53211, KamAZ-53213 - chassis used for installation of specialized bodies and various equipment on them and operation on roads designed to carry vehicles with an axle load of 100 kN (10 tf);
  • KamA3-54112 is a truck tractor with a fifth wheel load of 111 kN (11.1 tf), designed to operate with a semi-trailer with a gross weight of 26,000 kg; basic semi-trailer mod. 9385 with a lifting capacity of 20500 kg.

KamA3 tractors can be operated with trailers and semi-trailers of other models, the total weight of which does not exceed the permissible weight for this vehicle. Such trailers and semi-trailers must have appropriate electrical and pneumatic outlets: 24 V plug connector; pneumatic outlets for brake system drives of two or single wire circuits in accordance with GOST 4364-81 or GOST 4365-67.

Trailers for tractor models 5320 and 55102 must have a towing loop, the rod diameter of which is 41.4 ... 43.2 mm and the diameter of the loop hole is 88.8 ... 90.7 mm, and trailers for tractor mod. 53212 - towing device ISO/R 1102-69. The connecting dimensions of semi-trailers must comply with the requirements of GOST 12105-74.

  • The KamAZ-43114 onboard tractor is designed for transporting various cargoes, people, towing trailers and towed systems on all types of roads and terrain. It is possible to install specialized equipment weighing up to 7 tons on the vehicle chassis.
  • The KamAZ-43118 automobile chassis is intended for installation of various specialized equipment and operation on roads designed to accommodate vehicles with an axle load of up to 10 t, as well as on terrain.
  • Dump trucks for KAMAZ-65111 are designed for transporting various bulk construction materials and industrial cargo in extremely difficult road conditions.
  • The KamAZ-53228 automobile chassis is intended for installation of various specialized equipment and operation on the entire road network, designed to accommodate vehicles with an axle load of up to 10 t, as well as on terrain.
  • The KamAZ-44108 automobile chassis is intended for installation of various specialized equipment and operation on roads designed to accommodate vehicles with an axle load of up to 10 t, as well as on terrain.
  • Tractor vehicle mod. 43115 for transport purposes - modification of a tractor-trailer mod. 43114, is used for transporting various loads and towing trailers on roads allowing an axle load of 60 kN (6 tf).
  • The KamAZ-65115 dump truck is designed for transporting various bulk, construction and industrial cargo with a total weight of up to 15,000 kg on roads designed for the movement of vehicles with an axle load of up to 98 kN (10 tf).
  • The dump truck for KAMAZ-6540 is designed for transporting various bulk construction and industrial cargo on roads designed to accommodate vehicles with an axle load of up to 10 t. It is possible to install specialized equipment weighing up to 22 tons on the vehicle chassis.
  • The KamAZ-53229 automobile chassis is intended for installation of various specialized equipment and operation on roads designed to accommodate vehicles with an axle load of up to 10 t.
  • The KamAZ-4326 onboard tractor is designed for transporting various cargoes, people, towing trailers and towed systems on all types of roads and terrain. It is possible to install specialized equipment weighing up to 5 tons on the vehicle chassis.

In our last lesson you learned that a car

– a vehicle designed to transport people and/or cargo.

All transport can be classified according to different criteria.

Let's list the types of transport by purpose: cars, trucks, cargo-passenger vehicles, buses, special vehicles.

Let's talk about trucks. Trucks are used in construction, for transporting oil, gasoline, industrial products, food, timber, and so on. Since a truck can pull more cargo than it can carry, there are trucks that are designed to tow trailers.

KamAZ

- the most famous truck produced in Russia. Different KamAZ models are designed for transporting people, most often military and workers, transporting various cargoes, including dangerous and fragile ones, towing trailer systems, military equipment, and so on. KamAZ trucks are capable of driving even in completely off-road conditions.

Today in class we will make a model of a KamAZ dump truck.

You remember that the dump truck

- This is a special truck whose body can tilt to dump the load. Typically, bulk cargo is transported in it.

Well, let's get started.

We will make a model of a truck from plasticine.

You can match the clay colors to the real truck, but I'll use the colors I have.

In addition to plasticine, we will need: stacks, cotton swabs, scissors, glue stick.

But, before we get started, let's review the rules for working with scissors
and plasticine
.

Hold the scissors with the ends up.

Scissors must not be left open.

When working, you need to watch the fingers of the hand that holds the cardboard, paper or other object that needs to be cut.

Scissors should not hang over the edge of the table.

Pass the scissors only with the rings closed towards a friend.

Don't cut with scissors as you go. Do not approach your friend when he is cutting.

When working with plasticine, to make it softer, you need to warm it with the warmth of your hands.

Do not put plasticine in your mouth.

While working with plasticine, do not touch your face, eyes, or clothes with your hands.

If a piece of plasticine falls on the floor, you need to pick it up as soon as possible.

At the end of the work, the surface must be wiped with a dry cloth and only then with a damp one.

You should also wash your hands with soap and water after working with plasticine.

First we will make the wheelsets

. Cut off about 1.5 cm from both ends of the cotton swabs. Try to make the pieces of the sticks the same.

Then we make the wheels. I have a lot of dark green plasticine, so I'll take this particular plasticine.

Roll out the plasticine to a thickness of approximately 5 mm.

And then use a glue stick cap to cut out 6 wheels. This can be done in two ways. The first method: place the cap on the plasticine and press down firmly with your fingers, thus extruding a circle.

The second method: place the cap on the plasticine, and lightly holding it with your finger, cut out a circle using a stack, moving it along the border of the cap.

Now we put the wheels on the sticks that we made from cotton swabs. The wheelsets are ready.

Let's make a frame. We measure the width of the stick between the wheels - this will be the width of the frame. Now we place two pairs of wheels at a short distance from each other.

The length of the frame should be as shown in the picture. The frame thickness can be made approximately 5 mm. Roll out the plasticine and cut out the frame.

Place the frame on the wheelsets and lightly press the sticks into the frame.

We will make the cabin from orange plasticine.

We form a circle, and from it a rectangle with a width equal to the width of the frame.

We cut the corner as shown in the picture and straighten the edges with our fingers.

Now we make small details for the design of the cabin: front window, side windows, rear-view mirrors, headlights and other details.

We place the cabin on the wheelset and attach the cabin to the frame.

This is the truck we got.

Now let's make the body. We roll out the plasticine and cut out the body parts: the bottom, side walls, rear and front walls.

We assemble the body. We put it on the truck. The dump truck is ready.

Guys, you probably know that origami

is the art of folding paper objects without the use of glue or scissors.

Let's make a dump truck using origami technique.

We will need a sheet of colored paper. You can use double-sided colored paper, but I'll use single-sided paper so you can better see how the truck is made.

We need a square, so we'll cut the sheet. This is the only time we use scissors as the package comes with rectangular shaped sheets.

Fold the right side in half over the left. Now open and bend the top part down in half. Straighten the sheet. We have two folds running across the entire surface of the square. Thanks to them, we will be able to create a dump truck using the origami technique.

Divide the lower part of half the square into three parts, either by eye or using a ruler. Fold the lowest part up.

Bend the side corners down.

Turn the workpiece over so that all bent sides are not visible.

We divide the upper part of the square into three parts by eye. We leave the bottom one and bend two down.

We bend the lower right corner up to create the driver's cabin.

And bend the upper right corner down.

This is the dump truck we got.

Let's check if we completed the task correctly.

First, the frame of the car is placed on the conveyor, then the chassis is attached to it, the engine and cabin parts are installed. Afterwards, the electrical equipment, steering control, and glass are installed. Then the seats and various instruments that are necessary to operate the machine are installed in the cabin. The wheels are attached last. And the body for the trucks is made separately.

A tractor with a new cab and other new KAMAZ products at the Comtrans-2017 exhibition

The Russian heavyweight cargo flagship, KAMAZ, according to established tradition, rolled out a whole scattering of vehicles to Comtrans. The highlight, as expected, was the mainline tractor under the index 54901 (I wonder if it will have its own name?). The event is certainly epoch-making: finally a truly “long-range” tractor with a new cab will appear.

Design, of course, is a controversial matter, but the new flagship looks “pursed lips”

As General Director Sergei Kogogin said at a press conference, “the cabin of the new truck meets all modern requirements; during its creation, an emphasis was placed on ergonomics, convenience and comfort of the driver. New, contemporary materials, along with elegant color schemes, combined with the highest quality workmanship and assembly, have taken the interior and exterior of the cabin to the next level.”

We were not able to see the interior in person. But, judging by the sketches from the presentation, it resembles that of the new Mercedes-Benz Actros MP4: the new KAMAZ got its cab from it. Such cabins, by the way, will be produced at a new plant in Naberezhnye Chelny, which will be commissioned next year. The only sad thing is that the KAMAZ team still hasn’t had any special achievements in developing its own “long-range” cabin.

In the listing of units one can also find shades of intrigue. It is known that the gearbox is an automated ZF Traxon (these units are not produced at the joint venture in Chelny, but are delivered from Germany.) And the engine is a certain P6, and it is (we quote words from the presentation) “a completely new type that corresponds to the best world analogues in in its class and has high potential for further development of consumer characteristics.” In fact, the new engine is an in-line 12-liter “six” with a power of 380-550 hp. with separate block heads. The developer of this unit is the Liebherr company, and it was created on the basis of the Manov D26. This is a plus, because our repairmen are very familiar with such engines.

By the way, KAMAZ-Master has been actively using Liebherr engines on its cars for four years now (however, this year the team is switching to Cummins engines due to changes in regulations). Naturally, these engines were initially designed for Euro-5 standards and can be adapted to Euro-6 without any problems. Little is known about the axles (with missing markings): the front one is nine-ton with maintenance-free hubs; rear - hypoid, with gear ratios 2.5-3.07. Most likely they are Mercedes.

However, for now this is a prototype, and until the new tractor reaches a wide range of consumers, much will change in it. After all, according to Kogogin, a small pilot batch will be produced next year, serial production will begin in 2019 (when production of these cabins starts in Chelny), and a complete transition to the new series will occur in 2022.

In the meantime, at the stand inside and at the street exposition there were a mix of old and new cars of different classes and purposes - there were also gas examples, for example, the gas-diesel van 4308. The gas theme is gradually continuing to develop.

For the consumer, a gas-diesel KAMAZ is no different from a regular one

And the “zebra” Neo tractor was not purely methane, but gas-diesel. According to manufacturers, such cars were specially designed because of problems with gas stations (there are now about 300 of them throughout the country). And here are four gas cylinders on the frame and one 700-liter tank. More than a hundred of these tractors have been sold recently, and what’s good is that their price is no different from regular ones (from 4 million 300 thousand rubles). And due to the gas supply (35-45%), the resource of the standard 457 diesel engine should even increase. And the emission of soot particles is five times lower than that of a Euro 5 diesel engine.

There was also another tractor on the stand - with the index 54909. Its main feature is a plug-in front axle. Moreover, the connection occurs via a hydrostatic drive! Such a system can help off-road without increasing fuel consumption on the highway.

And here is the hybrid garbage truck, the project of which we have already talked about. It is powered by a 300 hp Cummins diesel engine, assisted by a Bosch electric motor that develops 163 hp. It is needed, however, primarily in order to work in yards without creating unnecessary noise. That's why the electric range is only eight kilometers.

However, the most unusual KAMAZ in appearance was found at a separate stand. A military two-axle chassis, completely entangled in balls of hoses and hung with barrels of receivers. What kind of miracle? This is a demonstration of the advantages of hydropneumatic suspension developed by Rostar.

It allows you to increase the speed and load capacity off-road, change the stiffness of the suspension and ground clearance, and also level the car (for aiming accuracy: the car is a military one). But how long will this ingenious system survive in real life conditions among the troops? By the way, such a pendant costs 1 million 200 thousand rubles. Mechanical outrigger supports are, of course, more primitive, but they will help cope with the task just as well, albeit more slowly.
