The Hunter pumps gasoline from the right to the left, on the contrary. I had to drain it from the left and pour it back into the right. Now the left wire has been plugged.

Good afternoon everyone. I have a Hunter UAZ 315195 2010. I bought it in May. Mileage 35,000 km. Most likely YOU Alexey have not figured out the power system. I do this. I don't open the right tank at all. The fuel gauge switch is turned on to the left tank. As soon as the fuel level arrow showed that the left tank was empty, I poured 30 liters into the left empty tank. Gasoline, as the right one is consumed, will be pumped automatically into the right tank. The fuel pump is located in the right tank. Once again, I do not fill the right tank with gasoline. It is replenished from the left tank. The right gas tank cap must be screwed on tightly. The plugs are blind without valves.

Do you have 2 pumps?

I agree with you! I fill only the left tank, the pump pumps it into the right tank, plus the gasoline is filtered on the way to the right tank through an additional filter. I only fill the right one when I need to fill both tanks.

Disadvantages of the system:
At very low temperatures, there is a possibility of fuel freezing in the banjo bolts and overflow hose, which will prevent fuel from flowing from tank to tank and the pressure in the main tank will equalize with atmospheric pressure. If the main tank is closed as tightly as possible, and the pressure in it cannot equalize with atmospheric pressure, external compression of the tank will occur. The tank will shrink inward. With a large number of compression and expansion cycles, the main tank may crack. To avoid this, when the hose freezes, it is enough to simply open access of air to the tank: open the connection of the tank with the atmosphere through the fuel receiver (the “Air” tube) or by installing a cap from an additional tank ( with a valve
, access atm. air into the tanks is carried out through it).
Design features and tank volume of the UAZ “Hunter”
Let's start with the main thing. Modern “Hunters” have an injection engine of the Euro-2 standard, which uses a fuel system in which there is no valve for switching between tanks, which is available, by the way, in the “Loaf”. Fuel is supplied using a special gasoline pump, the submersible module of which is installed in the main tank. About what kind of tank is the main one on the UAZ “Hunter” is a little lower.
Since the ZMZ-409 is an injection engine, there is no conventional fuel intake tube and a separate sensor that measures the fuel level in the tank. Instead, a gas pump (submersible module) is installed in the main gas tank, which simultaneously takes in fuel and measures the gasoline level. Naturally, for such a pump, the designers made one hole, different from the inlets for the tube and sensor, from which the pins protrude. After immersion, the pump is fixed to the tank with a clamping flange and nuts.
Gasoline from the auxiliary tank is supplied automatically when a vacuum is created in the main tank. Whereas in the 469 UAZ, access to the additional gas tank is achieved by switching the tap.
So, the right tank on the UAZ Hunter is the main one:
- has no communication with atmospheric air;
- the sides of the metal container are concave;
- made of steel, the walls of which have a thickness of 0.8 mm (for the factory version);
- overall dimensions - 220x210x930 mm;
- type Y;
- neck diameter 63 mm, length - 210 mm.
The left gas tank is auxiliary. Structurally, it is a twin brother of the main one, but with some differences: it has an exhaust valve on the half-turn neck cap for filling fuel. Both tanks of the UAZ “Hunter” have the same volume - 35 or 39 liters (the latter value is valid for such modifications as 2.7 MT “Trophy”, 2.2 D MT, 2.7 MT “Tent”, 2.7 MT “Yubileiny”, etc.) . Both gas tanks are equipped with a drain plug, and only the right one has a “return” hole located on top of the fuel tank. Excess gasoline that was not burned in the injectors will be returned to this “return” through separate tubes.
Interior
The interior of the Hunter matches its appearance - spartan and no hint of comfort. But the designers have at least slightly redesigned the seats, increasing their comfort, and also equipping the rear row with headrests. By the way, it is separate.
Unlike previous models, the front panel of the Hunter is trimmed with plastic. The main place on it, and the central one, is reserved for the instrument panel. All information sensors on it are round, analog, located in a row, which determines such dimensions of the tidy. Below the sensors there is a block of functional keys.
There is no center console as such. Instead, there is an opening with visible electrical wiring and air ducts of the heating system.
Although the Hunter appeared in 2003, they never got around to installing power windows in the doors. Instead, there is split glass, and if the driver wants to ventilate the interior, he needs to move one of the glass halves to the side.
The transmission of this car is controlled using two levers coming from the central tunnel. One of them controls the gearbox, and the second controls the transfer case. That's all the interior equipment.

Specifications
Let's move on to the technical part. Since its appearance, the Hunter, like its predecessors, has only had a gasoline power plant. At first, a 2.9-liter unit with a power of 104 hp was used. With. Later, this installation was replaced with an engine from the Patriot, the main characteristics of which are: volume - 2.7 liters, power - 128 hp.
UAZ “Hunter” - diesel 1) Initially, a Polish 8-valve “Andoria” unit with a volume of 2.4 liters was offered for the car, generating 86 “horses” at 4000 rpm and 183 Nm of peak thrust at 1800 rpm. 2) In 2005, it was replaced by the domestic 2.2-liter ZMZ-51432 engine with a 16-valve timing belt, developing 114 forces at 3500 rpm and 270 Nm at 1800-2800 rpm. 3) And finally, the Chinese version of the 2.2-liter F-Diesel 4JB1T was installed on the Hunter, the output of which is 92 horsepower at 3600 rpm and 200 Nm at 2000 rpm.
Later than everyone else, the diesel version of the “Hunter” appeared with a 2.2-liter engine from the same “Patriot”, which produces 98 hp. With. Now models with such an engine can only be purchased secondhand.
The SUV's transmission consists of a 5-speed manual transmission and a 2-speed transfer case. The Hunter's wheel arrangement is 4x4, but the front axle is disengaged.
Speed is clearly not this SUV's element. Its maximum speed is 130 km/h – the petrol version. Diesel is inferior to this indicator by 10 km/h. There is nothing to talk about dynamic characteristics at all.
The Hunter's high cross-country ability also requires good fuel consumption. So, the gasoline model consumes on average 13.5 liters, the UAZ “Hunter” diesel “eats” less, but not by much, its average consumption is 10.1 liters. Note that these are indicators when driving on a paved road. Off-road consumption will increase significantly.
Technical capabilities
UAZ Hunter is in great demand due to its high technical characteristics. This vehicle can be equipped with:
- gasoline engine;
- diesel power unit.
Basic 16 valve Hunter engine
The basic package includes a ZMZ-409.10 gasoline engine. It has 4 cylinders with a volume of 2.7 liters. The power unit is located in the front part of the body, equipped with a 16-valve timing belt and a distributor fuel injection system. The manufacturer of the SUV in question recommends refueling with gasoline of a grade no lower than AI-92. The maximum engine power is 128 hp. With. Peak torque is considered to be 209.7 Nm. This limit can be reached at 2500 rpm.
If you use Hunter in mixed mode, gasoline consumption will be more than 13.2 liters per 100 km. It should be taken into account that the dynamic characteristics of the car are weak. The maximum speed of this SUV is no more than 130 km/h. The starting acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h will require more than 35 seconds.
If we consider the diesel version of the UAZ, then it is equipped with a ZMZ-5143.20 engine. This power unit has 4 cylinders and a volume of 2.2 liters. The package also includes a 16-valve timing belt and a fuel injection system. The maximum power of this engine is 113.5 hp. With. Peak torque can be reached at 270 Nm.
If we compare gasoline and diesel engines in terms of fuel economy, then engine option 2 is considered more attractive. In the combined cycle, fuel consumption is 10.6 liters per 100 km. As for dynamics, the diesel unit is significantly inferior to its gasoline counterpart.
These models are equipped with a Hyundai Dymos 5-speed manual transmission. It is several times superior to the domestic version, which was previously installed on UAZ. It should be noted that a foreign box also has negative characteristics. It often makes noise and makes a creaking noise when switching.
External features
Solid domestic SUV
The length of the car is 4100 mm, the width (without mirrors) is 1730 mm, the height does not exceed 2025 mm. The original body design, good interior, high technical capabilities make the UAZ Hunter a universal vehicle.
As for the wheelbase, the Hunter is equipped with front and rear wheels of the same width - 1465 mm. The weight of this vehicle is 2550 kg. Fuel tank capacity - 70 l. There are 5 seats in the UAZ Hunter cabin.
If we consider the comfort of this vehicle, it should be noted that the doorways are narrow, so getting into the car is not very convenient. The chairs are adjustable. As for the interior, it is classic in nature. The finish is easy to clean with wet cleaning. The car's noise insulation is low, which is especially noticeable when driving at high speed. The SUV in question is equipped with a powerful stove that quickly warms up the interior in winter.
Often, the owners of this vehicle independently install 2 quiet heaters for the rear row. This is due to the fact that the standard heating unit is equipped with a noisy fan.

Reliability of power units
A gasoline engine is more reliable than a diesel engine. At the same time, both engines easily endure winters, providing the required amount of traction when driving. Hunters are equipped with durable chassis. Ahead are the following items.
- Spring suspension.
- 2 trailing arms.
- Traction.
- Stabilizer.
The stern of the SUV rests on 2 longitudinal springs. There are double-acting hydropneumatic shock absorbers at the front and rear. The front wheels have ventilated disc brakes and calipers with pistons. The rear wheels are equipped with drum brakes. The SUV is equipped with power steering.
It should be noted that this vehicle has an all-wheel drive system, represented by a two-stage gearbox with axles. The constant mode is characterized by the supply of traction to the rear axle. If necessary, UAZ owners can rigidly lock the front axle.
In terms of cross-country ability, the Hunter is considered a universal car. If you need a car to overcome off-road conditions, auto mechanics advise giving preference to the diesel option. The SUV in question feels great on country roads. But if the car still gets stuck in the mud or snow, the help of a tractor will be required.
It is necessary to take into account that you cannot ride off-road for a long time on factory tires. Therefore, it is recommended to purchase a set of special all-terrain tires. Motorists note that when driving at speeds over 100 km/h, loud noise and creaking are heard in the cabin. The Hunter is easy to drive, although you will need to turn the steering wheel more actively on sharp turns. When braking, take into account the short braking distance when reducing speed from 100 km/h to 0, especially if the car was moving faster than 60 km/h.
