Review Kurganmashzavod 828420 (2007)

Frame and body

MZSA 817701.012. The trailer body is made of high-strength steel. The manufacturer has built into the design a sufficient margin of safety to withstand even the most severe loads. Bolted connections of body elements provide minimal backlash in cases where this is necessary. Welded joints may simply burst if broken. The trailer's sides have additional stiffening ribs. This is especially necessary when transporting bulk cargo. The drawbar of the MZSA trailer is Y-shaped and made of a square metal profile of a closed type. Thus, moisture entering the drawbar cavity and, as a result, corrosion are excluded.

KMZ 8284 41. The body is made of thin-layer steel. The sides have only 1 stiffening rib, which does not give them sufficient fracture strength. The tailgate is reinforced due to the fact that the trailer is positioned as a model for transporting ATVs. This is a definite plus. The Y-shaped drawbar is made of a square closed profile, but has a shorter length than that of a competitor, which impairs performance properties.

Characteristics of KMZ trailers

Multifunctional trailers for KMZ passenger cars, as a rule, have body dimensions of 2-3.5 m in length, 1.25-1.51 m in width, side height - 0.35 m. Dimensions of station wagons vary from 3.23 to 4 .89 m in length, 1.59-2.05 in width, 0.9-0.96 in height. Their curb weight is 0.16-0.355 tons, the gross weight is 0.75 tons, and the payload is 0.395-0.59 tons. The loading height of such trailers is 0.55-0.666 m. Almost all general-purpose trailers are equipped with quick-release sides. They are modified into a carriage platform. There are both single-axis and biaxial. The cost of multifunctional on-board aircraft ranges from 34 to 72 thousand rubles.

As for trailers for motor and snowmobile equipment, these are the same universal flatbeds with the same characteristics and within the same price limits, only equipped with additional equipment for securing, loading and unloading, and transporting equipment.

Frame carriages for boats and boats with dimensions of about 4 meters in length, 1.5 meters in width and up to 1 meter in height. They have a carrying capacity of more than 0.5 tons and a loading height of 0.65 m. The cost for them starts from 43,500 rubles.

Models are equipped with thirteen or sixteen inch wheels and four-leaf spring suspension.

Anti-corrosion properties

MZSA 817701.012. The frame, drawbar, subframe, connecting elements and other metal parts are hot-dip galvanized. The thickness of the zinc layer reaches 80 microns. This type of corrosion protection is considered the most effective, especially when used in areas with high humidity levels.

KMZ 8284 41. Metal elements of the body are painted with zinc-accumulative paint. It is enough to damage the top layer of paint, and corrosion will immediately make itself felt. Since the trailer is designed to transport water equipment, high levels of humidity are inevitable. No matter how carefully the trailer is used, most likely it will “bloom” within a year. The only advantage of such an anti-corrosion coating is the possibility of carrying out welding work on the trailer - in the case of the MZSA 817701.012 trailer, it will not be possible to make changes to the design using the welding method, because upon contact with the electrode, the zinc layer ignites.

“Krepysh” or KMZ? What to choose?

Recently, unscrupulous sellers of passenger trailers have made it a rule to sell the KMZ trailer under the guise of the “Krepysh” trailer, which is extremely popular. The fact is that these trailers are brothers, or rather, “Krepysh” initially began to be produced on the basis of the KMZ trailer. So “Krepysh” can be called the son of KMZ and both of them are from Kurgan. But it often happens that children “outgrow” their parents.

Now about the fundamental difference. We will not talk about the disadvantages of trailers, so as not to upset manufacturers.

What are the advantages of KMZ:

  • The sides of the trailer are completely galvanized, but the frame is painted;
  • the bottom of the trailer is made of moisture-resistant plywood, which in theory reduces the noise emitted by the cargo, but becomes unusable due to mechanical damage. Perhaps that's all, if we compare.

Now let's talk about the advantages of "Strong":

  • The trailer's drawbar has a V-shape, and this contributes to high stability and structural strength. This is especially noticeable when the body is tipped over in the “dump truck” mode.
  • Even in the standard configuration, the kit includes recoil guards and a drawbar extension, when installed, you can transport cargo up to 5 meters long! Impressive, right? Watch the installation video.
  • The bottom of the trailer is made of galvanized steel. This is very important when transporting bulk cargo. Metal floors are less susceptible to damage
  • Springs with cushions are designed for different load capacities. When transporting light loads, a soft spring works, and when loading heavier objects, the springs are connected, increasing elasticity.
  • The suspension is height adjustable! If you need to use the trailer off-road or when using it in conjunction with tall vehicles, you can easily raise the position of the trailer, increasing the clearance to 26 centimeters! Watch the video.
  • Possibility of purchasing a trailer or subsequently installing reinforced hubs and wheels from Niva and UAZ on it
  • Tipper system with quick release locking brackets.
  • Quickly opening sides with locking mechanisms and reliable rods - limiters
  • A rolling wheel instead of a frail leg, which allows you to move even a loaded trailer without the help of a car, with a minimum of effort.

Perhaps I would also like to add a little philosophy. There is a huge difference in the organization of labor, manufacturing processes and expansion of the sales market for promoted products. Trade house "Kurgan Trailers" has taken a far lead in development compared to its competitor.

Externally, the trailers are similar, and a person who does not know the difference can easily make a mistake in their choice. And unscrupulous sellers easily take advantage of buyers’ ignorance! Be careful when choosing! All trailers of TD "Kurgan Trailers" have a brand name on their awnings

Customers love both of these trailers. They are both galvanized. KMZ is cheaper, but the sturdy one has much higher functionality. What to buy is up to you. Come and choose!

Spare parts, parts and accessories

MZSA 817701.012. The side latches are made of durable steel and have a wear-resistant design. MZSA trailers are equipped with parts, accessories and suspension elements from the German company AL-KO. Awnings and covers are made of durable, wear-resistant materials.

KMZ 8284 41. Side latches have a bolted design. With prolonged use, the metal wears out and the sides begin to loosen. Kurgan awnings have acquired a dubious reputation on the market - their strength leaves much to be desired.

Trailers from Kurganmashzavod

All products of the Kurgan Machine-Building Plant are distinguished by functionality, reliability, efficiency, and ease of use. Over the years of existence, trailers from the KMZ plant have earned fans throughout Russia, who confidently confirmed the suitability of these units. An obvious example is, for example, the universal trailer KMZ 828420, popular in all corners of the country.

Trailers for KMZ passenger cars have a number of distinctive features and features that set them apart from their competitive counterparts. A clear advantage is the fully galvanized sides and painted frame. And the moisture-resistant plywood bottom, which suppresses the noise emitted by the cargo, will last a very long time. But provided that no aggressive mechanical influences are exerted on it.

The manufacturer and developer Kurganmashzavod has provided for literally every nuance of the design: high-quality wheel bearings, a durable suspension arm, shock absorbers that can withstand heavy loads and other spare parts. And when replacing components, the owners of the structure do not have problems with which they have to contact specialists.

MZSA trailers that deserve your attention

The range of MZSA trailers is wide and varied. We bring to your attention three popular models:

I bought a trailer in April, I’ve been using it for almost six months now, I have some impressions. I started choosing a trailer back in February and went through a bunch of information. I decided on some parameters. Length of at least two meters, with an awning. I didn’t immediately consider trailers without galvanization. At points of sale, many of them were already in the process of corrosion. Trailers were offered in different variations (support wheel, low/high/no awning, plywood/metal sides and bottom, wheel diameter 13-15). As a result, the choice fell on the KMZ CLASSIKA-M trailer (Cheboksary) (galvanized frame, sides 350 mm, awning 600 mm, load capacity 600 kg, spring suspension). Before purchasing, I bought wheels in advance on Avito, for 900 rubles, in the store they gave the trailer minus the wheels (-3000 rubles) During this time, I transported various cargoes, furniture, barrels, land... the trailer showed its best side, but there were some problems .

Review Kurganmashzavod 828420 (2007)

Good afternoon everyone.

I want to tell you about another miracle of domestic mechanical engineering. This is a Kurgan trailer. There is little information on them.

Surprisingly, some people consider a trailer a free alternative to a cargo taxi. Shall we count? The trailer was purchased in July 07. The purpose of the purchase is small transportation, a small business (one might say so). Considered used. There is no choice, the prices are outrageous. For a rusty, broken trough on bald, different wheels they asked for eight! thousand. The search was tiring, so we took a new one. The price is twenty-three thousand. Equipment - additional sides, awning, wheel stops. The sides are galvanized. Suspension - springs, reinforced. Load capacity 550 kilograms. There are also ones with rubber bands, for example, they are not suitable for transporting building materials.

A short inspection, everything seems to be normal. I drove it. Registered with the traffic police and passed technical inspection. In order to deliver, you need to insure (it was such insanity before, it was canceled in 08). Technical inspection is a formality. Although I kicked the wheels, I checked the light bulbs. The first transportations... I took off the awning and sides that I didn’t need. I drove a little and not far. The trailer jumps up to one hundred and fifty kilograms of cargo, and so does the cargo. More - it goes softly, smoothly. The trailer is not visible ahead. The dynamics are getting worse, a lot! braking distance increases. Maneuvering is not difficult, the trailer follows the track of the vehicle. That's the problem with moving backwards! Over the years, I don’t always get into my garage the first time. I cut a piece of linoleum for the floor. I redid the rear lights - I connected the unused lamps to the brake lights. The dimensions finally went out. The wire probably got into the wrong place during assembly and was pinched. I lost the pin securing the side, picked up the bolt.

The second summer there were breakdowns. The bottom of the shock absorber fell off and the bracket tore out. Boiled both. The factory welding is weak. The drawbar came loose. It is fastened under the front side with a special bolt with a wing and under the body with a cotter pin. In theory, by unscrewing the lamb, the body turns into a dump truck. In practice, the connection is unreliable. Instead of a cotter pin, I took a bolt of about 24 with a nut, now it’s secure. Triangular would be better. The plug and socket finally fell apart. Plastic. I found the socket in duralumin, Made in USSR. The fork is still holding somehow. The semi-automatic hitch is convenient, but does not work. I hook it with a rubber hammer. The left light went out - it was on the block, it fell out.

In general, despite the shortcomings and not very good build quality (I also have a crooked frame), I like the trailer. Here in the Urals these are the most common carts. Spare parts are not a problem. A hodgepodge of our parts. Springs - Muscovite. UAZ taillights or your own. There are also “bee” type trailers in the region, small, frivolous, with wheels from a scooter, and they don’t hold the load at all. I also saw a “trailer” - the dimensions are about the same, the wheels are the same as those of the VAZ. By the way, the hub allows the installation of Moskvich disks, but they say the bolts have a different thread, I haven’t checked. By the way, this is not my first trailer. Back in 02-03, I bought almost the same one from a friend. The condition is terrible - it was in the trash for three years. There were disks from a Moskvich with four bolts. From theory I know that the fastening is unreliable. In practice, on the highway near Tagil with a load at 80 km/h, I was overtaken on the left! my right wheel. The disc cracked on the bolts. The hitch there was old, mechanical, quite reliable.

And finally, I’ll tell you about the tractor. There are a lot of horror stories about how the body is torn apart, lengthened, the suspension flies, the boxes can’t stand it... Yes, that’s all nonsense! Fuel consumption increases, which I compensate by driving economically. In a normal car, without overload, jerking or racing, the tail has almost no effect! Yes, there is more wear, but it is not noticeable in the overall mileage. We load it correctly (approximately ten percent of the weight of the cargo onto the tow bar, but not less than 20 kilograms). Don't forget about the brakes. On VAZs we keep the engine speed from 2000 to 4000. The cross-country ability is also poor, I was stuck on a “level” place. The best tractors. Ahead is the Volga or Niva, depending on the road. Lada cars are also good, and it’s not a pity. On front-wheel drive, the CV joints suffer; do not tear the car when the wheels are turned. Another disadvantage of a trailer is that you need a garage. You can't leave it in the yard. Technical inspection. They gave me two years, just enough to leave. The bureaucracy is terrible.

To take or not to take? If you need to bring a harvest once a year, then it is better to hire or rent someone. My brother often asks me. If you are building a dacha, then look at the four, heel or gazelle. The trailer is good if you carry it a little (relatively), but often.

PS I couldn’t find the carrying capacity for my eleventh. In some smart book I saw data for tens - 300 kilograms. It’s funny, because even Lada cars carry 500.
