The production of HITACHI hydraulic crawler excavators is concentrated in Japan, Fukaya, Bunkyo-ku, Koraku Kosumigaura Works (ZAXIS), at the facilities of the specialized division HITACHI Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. The complete line of excavators includes construction and mining machines.

The modern standard range of HITACHI hydraulic mining excavators is represented by the ZX and EX series and includes 8 models. All models are produced with working equipment such as a forward and backhoe (Tables 1 and 2).

HITACHI hydraulic mining excavators are designed for mining and loading into vehicles

both blasted rocks and overburden rocks and minerals excavated directly from the massif.

HITACHI quarry excavators are distinguished by high operational reliability, provide high productivity and environmental safety when performing excavation and loading operations.

The environmental friendliness of HITACHI excavators is due to minimal and low-toxic diesel engine emissions that are environmentally friendly and meet stringent standards set by the US Environmental Protection Agency. In addition, the designs of mechanisms using fuels and lubricants and coolants provide reliable measures to prevent leaks of these liquids into the environment.

A number of modern design solutions have provided significant advantages of using HITACHI hydraulic excavators in quarries compared to cable shovels with traditional working equipment, as well as analogues from other companies in the world.

The use of high-strength steels in critical mechanisms and low-alloy steels in the main metal structures of the excavator ensures its reliable operation under high dynamic loads, in ambient temperatures from -50° to +40°C. The rigid D-shaped frame protects the rotary platform from deformation when moving the excavator and performing scooping operations.

The chassis of the excavators is of the tractor type. The supporting frame is a welded structure made from special grades of rolled steel for harsh working conditions. The side track frames are welded to the supporting frame. The support and support rollers, idler wheels and track drive sprockets are lubricated and protected by floating seals. The hydraulic track tensioning mechanism is equipped with a shock-proof spring shock absorber. Track shoes are made from a special rolled alloy and are induction hardened. The hydraulic mechanism of the excavator ensures smooth movement and high maneuverability of the machine.

The operator's cabin is spacious, meets ISO standards, is independent, suspended on elastic and vibration-damping supports. Windows (with tempered glass on 4 sides) provide all-round visibility. The front windows can be completely removed and stored in the cab. In general, the machines are designed in such a way as to create comfortable conditions for the operator and ease and speed of routine maintenance and repairs for mechanics.

Comfortable conditions are ensured not only by the convenient arrangement of instruments on the control panel and in the cabin space and their ergonomics, but also by the design of the chair, which allows the operator to choose a comfortable position, and by the ventilation and air conditioning system in the cabin, which provides pressurized air inside the cabin to prevent dust from leaking into it. .

The arrangement of units and machines of all models on a rotating platform ensures easy accessibility to each of them, which facilitates the rapid implementation of routine inspections, maintenance and repairs.

Hitachi EX 5500 excavator operator's workplace
Thanks to the arrangement of walking platforms and corridors in the center and along the periphery of the rotary platform, the time for performing these types of work is minimized. The reliability of excavator operation is also supported by a centralized system of automated supply and distribution of lubricant to the friction pairs of components and assemblies, including the rotating fingers of the bucket, handle and boom, as well as to the rollers of the slewing ring. Thanks to this system, there was no need for daily and very labor-intensive manual lubrication of the machine, which led to an increase in its technical availability.

The EX 1900-5 model excavator with backhoe working equipment is available in six modifications, differing in boom length (from 8.3 m to 11.8 m) and arm length (from 3.6 m to 7.0 m) and the corresponding face parameters. Basic modification - equipped with an 8.3 m long boom and a 3.6 m handle.

The EX 2500 model, upon customer request, is equipped with a power unit based on an 860 kW electric motor (operating voltage 6600 V and current frequency 50 Hz) instead of a diesel engine.

For the majority of manufactured models of HITACHI excavators, a number of buckets are provided, the capacity of which ensures loading of dump trucks of various loading capacities for the optimal number of working cycles (within 4-6 cycles). At the request of consumers, mining excavators of the ZX models can be supplied either with a rock bucket (unloading through the bottom) or with a replaceable bucket, unloaded by tipping through the front cutting edge. The design of the “straight shovel” rock bucket fastening unit to the handle allows its cutting edge to be deflected at an angle from 55° to 70°.

Classification of Hitachi excavators

Engaged in the constant development and modernization of various special equipment, the Hitachi company has brought to the market several dozen models of hydraulic excavators. Regardless of its purpose, each piece of excavator equipment is characterized by high performance and reliability.

The model range of Hitachi excavators is represented by equipment for performing earthmoving work of any complexity and is represented by the main groups of machines:

  • small-sized;
  • middle class;
  • large-sized;
  • mountain;
  • wheeled.

The serial number of each model is its main difference from other excavator models and its relationship to a particular group. Hitachi 200 and 330 series excavators are middle-class tracked vehicles.

Characteristics of the Hitachi 200 excavator

The Hitachi ZX200 crawler excavator is the original base model of the 200 series. This is a middle class model, with relatively small dimensions and high performance characteristics of the working equipment. The compactness of the body makes it easy to carry out work in hard-to-reach areas.

Most often used for large quarry or construction work that needs to be completed as quickly as possible. At the same time, it differs from other models in its class in its high efficiency indicators associated with low fuel consumption.

Equipping with crawler tracks adds stability and confidence to the overall design on loose or sticky soils, as well as difficult terrain. Correct distribution of the load of the cabin and boom on the tracked base makes it possible to lift loads of varying weights without distortions or displacements. The track system is designed according to the triple grouser principle.

The Hitachi 200 excavator is equipped with an automatic system that operates under increased loads. In such cases, the speed of the working units automatically increases and the movement accelerates. This function is indispensable when working on mountainous terrain or in quarry conditions. This model is able to maintain its performance properties on long climbs with a slope of up to 35 degrees without loss of performance.

The Hitachi ZX200 is equipped with a turbocharged four-stroke diesel engine Isuzu AA-6BG1T with water and intercooling. Engine power corresponds to 150 hp.

Speed ​​switching is carried out using a mechanical stepper system, which has two modes - high and low speed. This means no conventional transmission. In this case, the low speed of movement reaches 3.6 km/h, and the high speed – up to 5.5 km/h.

The maximum lifting height of the bucket reaches 10 m, and the maximum digging depth is slightly more than 6 m.

The work equipment is controlled from a cabin equipped in accordance with all requirements for comfort and simplicity. The cabin has a high level of safety, good visibility and ergonomics.

Each of the Hitachi 200 series excavator models is characterized by the following features:

  • ZX 200 – base model;
  • The ZX 200 LC-3 is equipped with a cabin air conditioning system and an on-board computer with automation;
  • ZX 200 – 3 is equipped with a more powerful engine of 165 hp, and is characterized by a reduction in fuel consumption by up to 10%;
  • The ZX 200 - 5G is distinguished by the use of reinforced working and power units and other structural elements in the design.

Characteristics of the Hitachi 330 excavator

Of all Hitachi excavator models, the 330 series is the most popular. Its capabilities and technical characteristics allow you to perform work as efficiently as possible in any climatic conditions, even at low temperatures reaching -40 degrees. Hitachi 330 can be found during northern watches.

Hitachi 330 belongs to the middle class excavators. At the same time, it is confidently considered a universal technique. Operational features fully satisfy the requirements of both small and large industries.

The Hitachi 330 is equipped with a Japanese-made Isuzu AH-6HK1XYSA-01 six-cylinder four-stroke diesel engine with a turbine. An engine of this class is capable of operating without interruption for more than 18,000 operating hours until the first major overhaul.

This excavator model can be equipped with additional hydraulic lines and equipped with various working units:

  • hydraulic hammers;
  • borax;
  • eccentric rippers;
  • rotators;
  • grips.

The use of a special adapter allows you to quickly change from one equipment to another.

Hitachi 330 has a more modernized approach to providing comfortable control. For example, to install an attachment, the operator will have to get out of the cab just to attach the hoses. The Hitachi 330 excavator is equipped with special rear view cameras as standard. Night operation is also possible on the excavator of this model, thanks to the installation of additional lighting.

All components and mechanisms of the Hitachi 330 excavator are protected from harmful environmental influences and critical temperatures. The use of special technologies to improve the tracked part added weight to the overall design of the excavator, but increased the durability of the chassis elements.

Hitachi: excavators with optimal fuel consumption

Hitachi excavators do not differ in the characteristics of expensive special equipment. This concerns, first of all, fuel consumption. For example, during work related to digging or loosening soil, fuel consumption does not exceed 4.5 l/1 engine hour. Working with a hydraulic hammer will increase the flow rate to 12 liters. The most energy-intensive process is considered to be the operation of an excavator with a hydraulic compressor unit - up to 15 l/hour.

Despite the fact that developers are making every effort to improve the energy efficiency of Hitachi special equipment, the performance and durability of the excavator engine directly depends on the quality of fuels and lubricants.
