I.N. Kulgan emphasized that as part of the comprehensive investment project “Unified modernized cabin for truck cranes with a lifting capacity from 16 to 50 tons”, also with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, a new modern crane operator’s cabin (the so-called “new yellow”) was developed, which is equipped with the new truck crane KS-6577K- 3. Since the beginning of 2022, it has been mass-produced and is used to equip some of the truck cranes mass-produced by the company. The installed cabin fits into the dimensions of the vehicle permitted for driving on public roads.

The cabin differs from both crane operator cabins previously produced by the plant: from the “old yellow” one - the ability to tilt back and the presence of glazing at the floor, from the “new white round” - straight glass, more popular among practitioners, and a larger glazing area. The profile of the new cabin ensures the strength and reliability of glass fastening and the tightness of the door closure. In terms of visibility, it is better than the “white” one - the ability to look down has been added.

By the end of 2022 - beginning of 2022, it is planned that 90-95% of all manufactured truck cranes will be equipped with the “new yellow” cabin, abandoning the previous ones, because It is unprofitable to have several cabins with such volumes of crane production.

Presenting the technical features of the new model, Dmitry Sergeevich Bondarev, chief designer of IMZ AVTOKRAN LLC, described the new model as follows: “This is truly a new stage in the domestic crane industry, a point of qualitative transition to a completely different level for the entire crane industry in Russia.”

The plant's specialists have created a high-tech crane installation with a 5-section telescopic boom 35 m long, which is the longest in this class on an off-road chassis. At the same time, the 5-section boom of the new crane when folded is shorter than the booms of 50-tonne cranes of other brands (which, as a rule, have 4-section booms). Thanks to this advantage, the Ivanovo 50-ton truck can carry 2 winches, while remaining within the transport dimensions in terms of length (12 m) in order to move on public roads, and within the axle loads that the chassis allows.

It was in order to make the boom shorter when folded and achieve record performance that a 5-section design was used. The solution is not the most obvious at first glance, but later it proved its worth, including in terms of production costs, which turned out to be cheaper than the traditional solution. This came as a pleasant surprise even to the developers themselves.

The 5-section boom provided the crane with better lifting and all other basic characteristics than all Russian competitors. The crane develops a maximum load moment of 185 tm, which is also the highest in its class of Russian truck cranes. Load-height characteristics in the range of boom lengths over 32 m are 10-20% higher than any Russian competitor.

Development Director Vadim Borisovich Shneider said: “In order to produce this 5-section boom, our unique robotic line for the production of metal structures for crane boom sections was modernized by the technology department. Now it can produce booms for heavier cranes. This modernization project was also carried out jointly with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.

Previously, the technological equipment of the line made it possible to produce a dozen rigidly programmed sizes of crane boom sections. Factory technologists were able to eliminate this limitation: the possible minimum size of sections decreased and the maximum possible width of crane sections increased by several tens of millimeters. Modernization made it possible to produce crane sections with new sizes and produce multi-section booms for cranes with a lifting capacity of 50 tons or more.

The production line, in addition to creating an ovoid profile due to very high precision of work and some subtleties of technology that can only be implemented in robotic lines, allows making the boom significantly lighter than competitors, with the same strength characteristics. The boom saves about 200 kg of weight in heavy cranes. The boom of the 50-ton crane is made exclusively from Swedish metal. The hydraulic system also uses imported components.”

A system for quick rope re-supply, which significantly reduces the time required to change the working configuration. Counterweights are installed on the table by the crane itself, without the use of an auxiliary crane. Once the counterweights are installed on the table, the crane operator does not need to leave the cab for installation.
