The machine is equipped with hydraulic volume steering with a gerotor pump metering unit in the steering column bracket and a double-acting hydraulic steering cylinder in the steering linkage of the steered wheels. This part of the tractor is a series of units united together: a clutch housing, a gearbox, an intermediate part with a built-in drive mechanism for the power take-off shaft, a rear axle with a gearbox for switching the rotation speed of the rear PTO. A separate part of the transmission is the driving front axle, which receives drive from the tractor gearbox.
Gearbox and clutch
The clutch mechanism is a dry, permanently closed friction clutch with a mechanical control drive. The latest version of the tractor uses a membrane-type flap release disc as part of the clutch. The diameter of the friction driven disk is 240 mm.
The gearbox is a mechanical gearbox with constant mesh gears. Switching speeds and ranges is carried out using built-in easy-on clutches.

Taking into account the possibility of including four gears within one range, operating two forward ranges, one rear range and doubling the number of gear ratios by switching two gear stages, the gearbox generates 16 forward gears and 8 reverse gears. Gear shifting and range selection are controlled by two separate levers located on the right side of the steering column. To switch the gearbox gearbox operating stage, use a separate handle under the instrument panel.
Rear axle
The rear axle mechanism is housed in a separate cast-iron housing, to which the wheel gear housings are attached. Power is transmitted from the gearbox to the rear axle through a bevel main pair of gears with helical teeth. Closed axle differential with four pinion gears. The differential lock is of a mechanical type, the control of which is located by a separate link in the tractor cabin on the left side of the base of the driver's seat.
Rear front view
Service disc brakes operate in oil. The mechanisms are organized on the left and right final drive of the bridge, control is carried out mechanically by separate pedals. The parking brake has an independent lever control, which simultaneously locks the left and right service brake.
PTO
The tractor PTO operates in independent two-speed and synchronous two-speed modes. The planetary gearbox for engaging the PTO with control band brakes is housed in a separate housing mounted between the rear axle housing and the gearbox
The drive modes are switched by the engagement position of the jaw clutch. In early versions of the tractor, there is a drive on the outside of the gearbox housing, on the left side in the direction of travel: in the extreme clockwise position, the “independent mode” of the drive is activated, in the extreme counterclockwise position, the “synchronous mode” is activated, the middle position corresponds to the neutral position. The latest modification of the tractor is equipped with a lever for switching PTO operating modes in the cab.
Speed switching is also carried out by a separate control on the rear wall of the axle housing. The shift roller has three positions: the extremely recessed position of the shift roller activates the independent mode speed of 1000 rpm or 6.3 rpm per meter of synchronous mode travel, the extreme extended position corresponds to the activated speed of 540 rpm of the independent mode or 3.4 rpm per meter of path in synchronous mode. The middle position is neutral, as well as the middle position of the drive mode switching lever, ensures that the PTO drive is turned off. The positions of the roller are fixed by a ball stopper as part of the switching mechanism.
Front axle
The tractor is equipped with a beam-type FDA with final drives in the form of pairs of cylindrical gears located in separate rotary housings of wheel reducers. Structurally, the power flow to the FDA is carried out from the secondary shaft of the gearbox. The front axle differential is self-locking with a ratchet locking device.
Tractor front axle
The drive ensures operation of the front axle in automatic and forced modes. The automatic mode is activated by the activation of the overrunning clutch as part of the drive when the rear wheels slip. The forced mode is activated by mechanical engagement of the gear coupling.

Hydraulic suspension system
The tractor is equipped with a separate-module hydraulic mounted system, which provides a full range of types of regulation of the position of the working bodies of mounted soil-cultivating implements.
The hydraulics are equipped with a three-section distributor P16.333 or RP70 (new version). One section of the distributor is connected to the hydraulic lift of the rear linkage, two combined sections are designed for connection to remote hydraulic units of equipment used with the tractor. The shift levers have four positions: “neutral”, “raise”, “floating”, “lower”. The “floating” and “neutral” positions are fixed.

Early versions of the tractor are equipped with a category 1 hitch with a load capacity on the suspension axis of 1700 kg, where the hitch is equipped with two lifting hydraulic cylinders with a cylinder diameter of 63 mm and a working stroke of 120 mm.
