Types of tractors

The manufacturer produces two main groups of tractors:

  • Universal row crops: high-quality, inexpensive, have a standard set of functions and characteristics. Suitable for farmers and farmers who do not need extra equipment and auxiliary options.

The 6M series is equipped with a front loader. At the same time, the tractors’ load-carrying capacity remains high, which allows them to be used for work of any complexity. The models in this series have a built-in automatic AutoQuadPlus 20/20 or mechanical PowerQuad Plus 20/20 transmission, at the buyer’s choice. In addition, the tractors are equipped with a productive, progressive hydraulic system that compensates for pressure and fuel consumption.

John Deere tractors - model range

The company has been around for over a century, and during that time the John Deere (sometimes misspelled and pronounced "Gear") product line has changed several times. Let's look at the current models of tractors from the American concern.

Interesting: almost all the company’s tractors are equipped with power plants of their own design. The PowerTech engine was created specifically for these tractors, complies with environmental standards and has optimal power characteristics. And the engines of the PowerTech Plus family are additionally equipped with turbocharging, wet liners, an exhaust gas recirculation system (EGR) and other modern options: John Deere engineers try to keep up with advances in engine building.

Series 6D

John Deere 6D tractors are based on the 6030 series, only they are more powerful, stronger and more complex in design than their predecessor. Their distinctive feature is durability. The 4.5 liter engine installed in the car has a power of 130 hp. and torque reserve of 30%. It provides high power at high speeds and thus enables the tractor to perform many tasks.

The 6D Series models feature the latest technology - a plug-in mid-drive system. Thanks to it, power take-off and traction are increased, fuel is saved, tire service life is increased, and the soil is less compacted during cultivation.

  • transmission with 9 gears, working both forward and backward;
  • the PowerReverser gearbox has electro-hydraulic shifting - this ensures smooth operation of the tractor and eliminates the need for constant use of the clutch;
  • using a hydraulic attachment system, the machines are connected to front loaders and other mounted units;
  • The mechanism of tractors is designed in such a way that they can be easily maintained or repaired even by inexperienced users.

Outside America

Models of the 10 series were exported, among other things, to Europe. In addition, John Deere began to work closely with European manufacturers. Together with the German company Lanz, it developed John Deere-Lanz oil engines, opened a subsidiary in France, Compagnie frangaise John Deere, and soon began assembling tractors in France and Germany.

Since 1989, the French commune of Saran became home to another subsidiary, specializing in the sale of John Deere engines in Europe, the Near and Middle East, Africa, Asia and Australia. Since 1970, John Deere has signed several agreements to supply cheap models to Latin America and Asia, and in 2005, a plant for the production of John Deere seeding and tillage equipment was opened in Russia.

Series 6B

The 6B Series models are among the simplest John Deere tractors. They are famous for their high performance, versatility and simplicity of design, which the owner can easily repair with his own hands.

The tractor is equipped with a PowerTech engine, the power of which ranges from 95 to 135 hp. The torque reaches 29%, which guarantees high maneuverability of the equipment with cargo. To facilitate starting in cold weather, glow plugs are installed in the engine cylinders. Engine power 06 hp and a liter volume of 6.8 liters, which provides higher power and torque. It is characterized by high fuel efficiency. To improve cylinder purging, this engine has a gas distribution mechanism with valves per cylinder. It is equipped with a turbocharger with variable nozzle geometry and a charge air cooling system. The engine also has an exhaust gas recirculation system, which increases its efficiency. High pressure power supply system with electronically controlled injection. In this case, injection occurs twice during the compression stroke. The first injection is preliminary, the second is main, which provides high power with a smaller cylinder volume.

Series 7030

The 7030 series tractor models have a long wheelbase and heavy weight. Due to this specific design, these machines are stable when working with cultivators, chisels, plows, and have increased traction and coupling parameters.

The tractor is equipped with a frame structure with a monoblock assembly. The PowerTech Plus engine is made using innovative technologies and has an IPM system. Its volume is 6.8 liters, power 195-213 hp. The speed at which the car moves reaches 50 km/h. "John Deere" is a tractor whose fuel consumption will be almost a third lower than that of Russian similar equipment. Series 7030 can be equipped with 3 types of gearboxes:

  • AutoPower;
  • AutoQuad-Plus;
  • PowerQuad-Plus.

These tractors do not have a clutch pedal. Instead, there is a button on the gear shift lever. The front axle of the vehicle boasts a load capacity of 5.9 tons. The manufacturer has developed 3 types of front PTO in order to be combined with a front loader.

Robot or continuously variable transmission

Tractors of the 8030, 8R series offer three transmission options . These are semi-automatic Automatic PowerShift 16/5 , AutoPowr and e23 .
