Belarus MTZ-82 - features and advantages of the model with photos and video examples

How to make a homemade cabin for a MTZ tractor

However, no one is immune from breakdowns, so you will have to repair the cabin, possibly with your own hands. Repairing the cabin, altering it or modifying it with the help of qualified workers will not be cheap, but doing the work yourself is quite possible. In addition, on cabless tractors you can also make a cabin with your own hands. A homemade cabin for a tractor is convenient, cheap and reliable.

What do you need to know about installing a homemade cabin MTZ-82, MTZ-50 and on the T-40?

The most important thing you should pay attention to when deciding to install a homemade cabin at MTZ is the quality of materials. Changes can be made to the design to make it even cheaper. First of all, you need to decide what material will be used for the main part of the frame.

So, when making a homemade cabin project at MTZ, you can take into account that the glass at the bottom of the door is an optional element, and it can be completely abandoned. This will make the structure more durable, since there will be no risk of the glass breaking.

First you need to thoroughly prepare for work, namely:

  1. Set up a spacious work space.
  2. Prepare the necessary materials: steel sheets (1.2-2 mm), square pipes, glass (front, rear and side), screwdriver, tools for carpentry and joinery, welding machine.
  3. Prepare consumables (fastening) materials: bolts, screws, nuts.

Let's look at how to create the MTZ-50 cabin with your own hands. It is done in the same way for any other tractor.

The most common design mistakes are miscalculations when planning how to fill the cabin.

So, not everyone takes into account that the floor in the MTZ-82 cabin should be laid not evenly, but in steps. The first stage is needed in order to move along it; it is also possible to provide a niche for the battery in it (in the event that the MTZ-82 cabin requires the use of a starter). On the second step there will be a platform for the driver's seat. The third stage is needed to act as a kind of armrest. A passenger can also sit on this step, since the width of the ledge will allow this.

It is also worth considering that you first need to purchase a car seat, and only then plan the ceiling height. The seat should not be too high: in this case, it will prevent you from assessing the situation behind you if necessary. When all the nuances are taken into account, you can begin to design a homemade cabin for an MTZ-80, 50 or other tractor.

Attachments

The Belarus 82 tractor, in combination with attachments, performs a wide range of agrotechnical work, starting from initial soil treatment: plowing, cultivation, harrowing, to sowing crops, intermediate treatment of crops and seedlings: weeding rows, applying mineral fertilizers and plant care products, insecticides. Works effectively for making hay, mowing grass, harvesting cereals and industrial crops.

The unit has found application in forestry, industrial enterprises, transport organizations, the construction industry, public utilities, and park areas. Used as a towing vehicle, the maximum weight of a loaded trailer is 9 tons.

The Belarus MTZ-82 tractor is successfully used as a powerful drive for stationary woodworking machines and other units. Capable of performing the functions of a bulldozer, excavator, front loader in combination with appropriate attachments.

Algorithm for making a homemade tractor cabin

First, a drawing and work plan are created. First of all, you need to weld the front part of the cab taking into account the windshield of the tractor. To do this, it is necessary to make a glass contour from a sheet of plywood with a reserve for laying the seal. You need to do the same with the rear wall, only after that you need to take measurements of the side parts of the tractor and its doors. The side parts must be equipped with opening glass, which can be purchased in specialized stores. This will make working on the tractor more comfortable, and it will be possible to ventilate the room.

After measurements, you can proceed to constructing a timber frame. Square tubes should be placed along its outer contour, after which the parts are spot welded. After clarifying the measurements, it is necessary to proceed to welding the openings for the glass. Welding must take place on a flat surface.

Before all parts of the tractor are lined, you need to decide on the height: the ceiling should be at least 20 cm higher than the driver. After all the calculations, the height of the racks on which the main load will be distributed is determined. Only after all these procedures can you begin to make a tractor roof from a steel sheet (2 mm) and a tube (diameter 100 mm). The tube is cut lengthwise and a steel sheet is welded to it, which will play the role of a roof in the future. After this, the entire cabin is welded and mirrors are installed.

After welding the parts, smaller work comes, for example, installing locks on the doors. If the lock is easy to install from the outside, then the mechanism located inside requires modification. On the inside of the door, where the lock is located, you need to weld or screw a latch with a spring, and then attach it to the lock.

The instrument panel can be borrowed from a tractor, connect wires to it and get a ready-made remote control located on a metal case. The same should be done with the stove, which will be needed in winter. There are 2 pipes coming out of the stove: one goes to the windshield, and the other will blow out air. If the cabin is sealed, you will need to ventilate it from time to time to remove excess moisture.

The interior finishing is made of fiberboard. The necessary parts are cut out of the fiberboard sheet and fastened with self-tapping screws. In the future, the frame can be covered with fabric (use foam rubber as a filler). Sometimes, instead of fabric, it is worth using leatherette, which will be easier to clean.

If the cabin requires repair, then it is worth considering that for alteration it is usually removed from the wheel frame. Removing the cabin is quite difficult, but sometimes it is simply necessary. Often during refurbishment it is practiced to install the YuMZ cabin at MTZ. This is a good option, taking into account the fact that the mounts in tractors are practically the same.

Functions and additional equipment

The MTZ 82 tractor allows you to perform agricultural work and is used in public utilities. Upon request, additional ballast weights are installed on the equipment, increasing the load on the drive wheels. In this case, normal machine control conditions are restored. In the 80s for the tractor there was a set of rubber tracks that fit on the rear wheels, and additional rollers. Torque transmission was carried out by star wheels on the rear tires.

Due to the use of additional attachments, the tractor can be used as a bulldozer or loader; it is possible to install an excavator boom and hydraulic supports to increase stability during operation. Some tractors were equipped with a side power take-off shaft on which a pulley was attached. A belt drive from a pulley is used to drive stationary equipment (water pumps or agricultural implements).

DIY MTZ cabin repair

The MTZ cabin, like other tractor systems, requires regular maintenance and repair.

The most common breakdowns of cabins of all types (including small ones):

  • Violation of the integrity of noise and heat insulation
  • Damage to controls (levers, pedals, switches)
  • Incorrect ventilation operation
  • Cab mounting wear
  • Shock absorber wear

Finishing the cabin with vibroplast will provide sound insulation; polyurethane foam applied to the cracks will provide thermal insulation.

Adjustment or replacement of levers and pedals must be carried out in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations (for example, adjusting the free play of the clutch pedal).

If warm air does not enter the cabin, then the fact is that there is no water circulation through the heating block. There may be several reasons:

  • The tap is closed
  • Blocked hoses

Also, warm air may not enter the cabin due to a broken fan.

Hot, humid air from ventilation may indicate a water leak in the heating system.

To replace the mount and shock absorber, it is better to contact a service center.

Engine

The tractor was equipped with one of the diesel engine options of the D-240 model - with an electric starter (its power is 3.4 kW) or with a starting engine (0.55 kW).

Engine type: 4-stroke, water cooling. Manufacturer: Minsk Motor Plant.

Maximum power80 kW
