Electronic systems of the RSM-101 “Vector” self-propelled grain harvester, setup instructions

Model RSM 101 Vector 410 is a self-propelled wheeled single-drum harvester. The family became one of the first products. Currently, the technical parameters of Vector equipment have noticeably improved, and special additional equipment has appeared that expands the scope of application.

The Vector family is considered the “little brother” of the Acros series. The machines belong to one type of grain harvesting machines. However, Akros combines represent the fifth class, and Vector – the fourth.

The PCM 101 Vector 410 model is equipped with equipment similar to the Acros 530 equipment, but is more mobile and compact. In terms of economic efficiency, the Akros series is optimal for large fields and significant volumes of work. It will be quite difficult for the Vector 410 combine to cope with similar tasks. It is intended for small farms.

The story of the “brothers” is similar. In the spring of 2007, Rostselmash opened the production of Akros 530, which became a real breakthrough in the domestic field of agricultural machinery. After 2 years, Vector 410 appeared. The development was a new project, the creation of which was carried out from scratch. When designing the model, current global trends in the field of combine harvester construction were taken into account. For the first time in Russia, the machine was developed without the use of paper drawings, using an electronic end-to-end design system. This approach made it possible to create a competitive combine harvester. When developing the new family, Rostselmash engineers were guided by market needs. The brand’s line already included a model intended for large farms, but it was not suitable for medium and small consumers. They needed relatively inexpensive and reliable equipment that would surpass the characteristics of combine harvesters of the Soviet era (Yenisei, Niva and others).

As a result, the RSM 101 Vector 410 was created. The combine harvester has become the “golden mean” for small farms and beginning farmers. They got a reliable partner at an affordable price.

The scope of application of the Vector 410 model is direct combining and separate harvesting of cereals and other crops. The equipment is designed to work on flat fields with a slope of up to 8 degrees. The combine is capable of performing the following operations:

  • cutting of a standing crop;
  • selection of grain mass from windrows;
  • grain separation;
  • threshing;
  • collection;
  • unloading grain from the bunker;
  • disposal or harvesting of non-grain parts.

Special adapters allow you to harvest sorghum, corn, soybeans, cereals and legumes, rapeseed, sunflower, seed seeds of vegetables and herbs. Additional accessories are not included in the basic package and are supplied separately.

Depending on the area of application and operating conditions, the Vector 410 model is offered in the following configurations:

  • header with different working widths for harvesting cereal crops;
  • threshing unit with a chopper-spreader with the possibility of conversion into a stacker for collecting non-grain parts;
  • transport trolley for transporting the header;
  • pick-up platform with different working widths.

Model RSM 101 Vector 410 is a new standard in the segment of compact combines with high efficiency and quality of work.

Engine

Vector 410 is equipped with a diesel turbocharged unit model YaMZ 236-ND (manufacturer: Yaroslavl Motor Plant). The 4-stroke V-shaped diesel engine has liquid cooling, a mechanical speed controller, a liquid-oil heat exchanger and air-to-air intercooling of the charge air.

The YaMZ 236-ND series motor was developed specifically for combine harvesters of the Vector family of the Rostselmash enterprise. An important feature of the power plant is the additional power reserve, which allows operation in any conditions. During periods of peak or increased loads, the motor provides a power increase of 15-20%.

Characteristics of the YaMZ 236-ND engine:

  • working volume – 11.15 l;
  • rated power - 154.5 (210) kW (hp);
  • maximum torque – 882 Nm;
  • rated speed – 1900 rpm;
  • number of cylinders – 6.

The Vector 410 combine is positioned as an economical machine. Low fuel consumption is ensured by the engine, which consumes approximately 1.8-2.5 liters of fuel per ton of grain. Together with a 540 liter fuel tank, this allows operation without refueling for up to 16 hours.

The equipment is also equipped with an air compressor with a 110-liter receiver, making it easier to maintain the machine in the field. The engine itself is located at the rear in the most accessible place.

Harvester header Vector 410

The Vector 410 combine is equipped with an adapter in the form of a universal header. Its peculiarity is that it has an adjustable working width, which can be 5,6,7 and 9 meters. The working width of the pick-up is 3.4 meters. This adapter design allows to reduce grain losses resulting from shedding. A special design mechanism evenly supplies grain, leveling out the influence of side factors such as problem areas of the cultivated area. A stripper header can be used instead.

In addition to the basic configuration of the header, the Vector 410 combine can optionally have a trolley for its transportation.

Design and service features

The RSM 101 Vector 410 combine harvester has an expressive and powerful appearance with clear edges and intense articulation of the planes. The vehicle has a standard layout: cabin, bunker and engine.

The chassis of the equipment is characterized by increased reliability. During the cleaning process, the equipment covers tens of kilometers along country roads and dirt. Driving properties in such conditions are an important factor. Vector 410 (like other brand products) is equipped with a hydrostatic transmission with continuously variable speed control within 3 ranges. The combine is equipped with a powerful GST-112 drive, which increases the reliability of the chassis. The model is perfectly adapted for hauling. The rear and front tracks are the same size, minimizing the negative impact on the soil, and self-cleaning herringbone lugs increase the maneuverability of the equipment. Due to low pressure tires, the load on the ground is reduced.

The hydraulic system of the combine has undergone certain changes that have a positive impact on reliability. The hydraulic pumps of 3 systems (steering, chassis, main system) were combined into a single unit. The working fluid began to be poured into one hydraulic tank, which facilitated maintenance and increased maintainability. Hydraulic distributors were brought to easily accessible areas. All elements of the hydraulic system for the RSM 101 Vector 410 model are supplied by trusted suppliers. Soldered joints are eliminated from the design, they are replaced by connections using cutting rings. This change increased the reliability of the entire system.

The design of the Vector 410 series does not contain complex electronic devices, which makes servicing the combines extremely simple. Reducing the number of elements had a positive effect on reliability. A function for checking circuit integrity and short circuits has been added to the monitoring system. The combine was equipped with the brand’s proprietary device – the Adviser automated control system, which displays all the necessary parameters of the machine’s operation.

Working elements of the combine:

  • unified Power Stream header with a reliable hydromechanical mechanism for following the ground relief Level Glide. Thanks to the planetary drive of the knives, a high-quality cut is ensured (a similar gearbox is used in the Akros family);
  • high-inertia threshing drum with the largest diameter in the world (800 mm). The device carefully processes grain and is perfectly suited to problem and clogged breads. The residual separation system, including a 2-stage cleaning system and a 4-key 7-stage straw walker, ensures minimal losses during grain collection and optimal cleanliness;
  • grain bin with short unloading time. The device is equipped with vibration stimulators that simplify the unloading of grain with high humidity. Thanks to special sensors, the filling of the bunker is monitored (at 75 percent filling, the flashing light lights up). You can visually control the filling of the bunker from the workplace.

The Comfort Cab of the PSM 101 Vector 410 family is not inferior in comfort to the cabins of Akros combines. The operator's workplace is protected from vibration, dust and noise. An advanced air conditioning system creates a comfortable microclimate in the cabin. The basic package includes audio equipment, including an antenna, a seat for a radio, and a speaker system. The driver's seat is equipped with a sprung seat with many necessary settings. The operator can adjust the seat to suit individual needs. A full-fledged folding chair is installed for the helm.

The main control element is made in the form of a multifunctional joystick-manipulator, which is convenient for a natural palm grip. The new cab features a large glass area and 6 halogen headlights, providing excellent visibility of the header at all times. One of the innovations is a pseudo-touch panel, which replaced the classic “push-button” control. The element allows you to control working mechanisms in automatic or manual modes.

RSM 101 Vector 410 is the leader in the domestic segment of medium-sized combine harvesters. The model has many advantages, but there are also disadvantages. Among them:

  • assembly errors (incorrect installation of the conveyor chain, loose fasteners, etc.);
  • incorrect operation of the harvested area counting system;
  • Oil leaks from reverse hydraulic motors.

General description. What's new?

Even at the initial stage of design, the designers abandoned the usual drawings, and instead used a modern computer-aided design system, taking into account international experience. This approach made it possible to improve the reliability of combine components and blocks, as well as increase productivity.

For the Vector 410, the designers used an innovative layout: cabin - bunker - engine, which, on the one hand, increased the sound insulation of the cabin and made the work of the combine operator more comfortable. On the other hand, the location of the cab in the center increased the visibility of the header not only during the day, but also at night with powerful lighting from six halogen headlights.

The greatest economic efficiency of using a combine is achieved when processing approximately 750 hectares per season and a yield of 50 centners per hectare. Travel speed is about 12 km/h. Grain losses do not exceed 1%, and the degree of damage is extremely low. This is ensured by two stages of grain cleaning and a final grinding device. With low air humidity, grain can be delivered for sale without additional cleaning, since the presence of impurities in the bunker is 5 times lower than normal. The maximum volume of the grain tank is 6 cubic meters.

Changing the volume and controlling the roof is done from the combine operator’s workplace. Bunker productivity is increased due to longer operating time between grain unloadings. The machine has the ability to unload with a humidity of more than 30%. The basic package includes an air compressor and a 110-liter receiver for servicing the combine at the end of each shift.
