Motoblocks Varyag. Overview of the model range, characteristics, attachments, application and operation

Walk-behind tractors are multifunctional equipment that can perform various tasks for caring for land and garden plots.
They come in different types, and this sometimes becomes a big problem when choosing the right model for yourself. If you have a small area, it is irrational to purchase expensive professional models. And vice versa, if the area is large, a light walk-behind tractor may simply not be able to cope with a large number of tasks in virgin lands.

Motoblocks "Varyag" are medium-weight units. They are durable and powerful. They also have a compact powerplant, a four-stroke engine and a chain gearbox. They can cope with any work, and a large selection of attachments will significantly expand the capabilities of the equipment.

“Varyag” is just a trademark that supplies foreign equipment to our country. The manufacturer of these walk-behind tractors is China. Today, few people think that Chinese equipment is necessarily of low quality. In fact, manufacturers in this country are trying to compete with European and other brands, but their prices are much lower. In addition, reviews from owners of Varyag walk-behind tractors indicate that this equipment has many advantages over other similar machines.

Milling cutters

This attachment comes complete with almost all Varyag walk-behind tractors, and one of the basic characteristics for owners is their working width and immersion depth.

Cultivator cutter

Saber-shaped cutters allow you to mix the top layer of soil in order to increase fertility before planting crops and after harvesting them. Thanks to this, the earth is saturated with oxygen, and the weeds are crushed and mixed with the soil for fertilization.

Plow

If it is necessary to cultivate virgin or hard soils, then cutters will not help, since they will not be able to sink into the soil and will constantly jump. In this case, owners of Varyag brand walk-behind tractors are recommended to use plows.

Plow Mole Plow PN-1-20MB

The main disadvantage of plowing is that after such treatment large blocks of rock remain on the surface, which then have to be broken up with cutters. Reversible plows have a feather-shaped plowshare that initially turns the rock over several times, thereby crushing it.

Instructions for the Bee motor cultivator – what does the manufacturer advise?

Before you start using the model, you must study the advice and instructions from the manufacturer. By adhering to them, you can extend the life of your cultivator. Maintenance of the unit is as follows:

  • First of all, it is necessary to regularly change the oil and gasoline. The manufacturer advises doing this before each start of the engine after a long period of inactivity. There is no need to save on gasoline, because buying and replacing broken engine parts will cost many times more;
  • Secondly, it is necessary to regularly lubricate the cultivator transmission. Timely application of oil plays a big role in increasing the service life of gears;
  • Thirdly, do not use the unit in heavily overgrown areas or for plowing virgin soil. Due to the low power, the cultivator motor will regularly overheat;
  • Fourthly, do not use oversized attachments, as this will have a bad effect on the quality of tillage and reduce the service life of the motor and gearbox.

The Bee cultivator instructions for it have all the necessary diagrams and drawings, using which the owner can replace failed parts.

The diagrams will also tell you how to properly connect attachments and how to start running in a new unit.

Pros and cons of the domestic model

The advantages of the cultivator are more than obvious - compactness, ease of operation and low price. But in addition to the advantages, the unit also has certain disadvantages. Among them it is necessary to highlight:

  • Loud shots are often heard from the carburetor of the unit - this is due to the large amount of air in the fuel mixture;
  • The need to break in the engine of a new cultivator for a long time - sometimes this takes 2-3 hours of idling;
  • Frequent wrapping of weeds around the cutters is due to the shape of the working elements of the model;
  • A small selection of engines for replacement - the reason lies in the shape of the frame.

Many farmers complain about the lack of cultivator engine power. This often affects not only the quality of plowing the soil, but also the gearbox, which does not receive the speed needed to regularly transfer the cutters to the shaft. As a result, the cutters either turn at low speeds or turn too quickly.

Device

The design of the Varyag motor-cultivator is, in principle, classic for this technique. There is a frame to which the gearbox and power unit are attached. The steering control of the cultivator, as well as a shank for attaching attachments, are attached to the same frame.

Power point

The single-cylinder power plant used on the Varyag is very compact, due to the diagonally located cylinder. Also, this arrangement of the cylinder contributes to the stability of the cultivator, since the center of gravity is low.

Despite its compact size, the Varyag power plant has quite good power - 7.0 hp, which allows it to be used in transport work, albeit after a slight modification of the shank.

This gasoline engine is 4-stroke, with a displacement of 208 cc. see. It operates on gasoline, the power plant is started by a manual starter.

Gearbox

The gearbox is a chain drive and is located in a closed housing. At the top there is a drive shaft with a pulley. An intermediate shaft with sprockets is installed in the upper part, which selects the direction of movement. And from the intermediate shaft there is already a chain transmission to the lower driven shaft. To lubricate this gear, there is an oil filling hole in the housing.

The drive from the power plant to the gearbox is carried out by a belt drive using pulleys. Moreover, the force itself is regulated by belt tension. The transmission is carried out in this way: a drive pulley is placed on the crankshaft, and a driven pulley is placed on the gearbox shaft, with a belt located between them, but with virtually no tension. When the power plant is started and idling, the crankshaft with the drive pulley rotates, but since the belt is not tensioned, it transmits force to it.

On the frame there is a shaft with a lever, at the end of which a pressure roller is installed. A cable is also connected to the lever, which is used for control. To start moving, it is enough to press the cable drive handle, then the lever with the roller moves and begins to press on the belt, creating tension, due to which force begins to be transmitted from the knee pulley. Shaft to the gearbox pulley. The belt drive of the Varyag motor-cultivator is enclosed in a protective metal case.

Working equipment, steering

The ends of the driven shaft exit the gearbox housing. They are intended for fastening working equipment. The main working equipment at Varyag is rotary cutters. These cutters consist of an axle on which sections of the working feet are attached. There are 3 sections in total on each cutter. Each section includes 4 legs fixed in a circle. The paws are fastened with bolts.

Instead of rototillers, metal wheels with lugs can be installed on the cultivator using extension inserts for performing a number of agricultural works, as well as wheels with rubber tires for transport work.

The steering of the Varyag is Y-shaped. The central part of the steering wheel is attached to the frame, then the steering wheel is separated.

At the top of the steering wheel, on the right side, there is an engine speed regulator - an accelerator, as well as a selector for selecting the direction of movement, and on the left side there is a handle that regulates the tension of the drive belt.
