First launch and run-in

The first launch is the key to long-term and uninterrupted operation of Varyag brand walk-behind tractors.
Initially, it is necessary to assemble the machine according to the sequence given in the operating instructions. After this, a period of engine running-in begins. At this time, you cannot use the walk-behind tractor for heavy work or maximum power.

The break-in should last about 8 hours. During this period, you can drive with an empty trailer, or cultivate the soil at a minimum immersion level. During this time, the motor parts will be lubricated and begin to work as a single mechanism. Once this process is complete, change the engine oil.

Service

Varyag walk-behind tractors are distinguished by their unpretentiousness in terms of maintenance. Many owners simply change the engine oil according to the manufacturer's recommendations.

Before starting operation, it is necessary to inspect the walk-behind tractor to ensure that there is no unnatural arrangement of parts, that the electrical wiring is in good condition, and that there are no oil leaks from the structural components.

  • The engine oil must be changed every 25 hours of operation. To do this, drain the waste and fill in a new lubricant with classification 10W-40.
  • Transmission oil should be changed twice a year: in spring and autumn, or after 100 operating hours. It is recommended to pour Tap-15V or TAd-17i into this unit.
  • Gearbox shift levers should be periodically lubricated with Solidol or Litol-24 to ensure smooth shifting.

Repair of major faults

Owners of Varyag walk-behind tractors note the availability of spare parts for these machines and their maintainability. Most problems can be fixed on your own in a short period of time.

If the engine does not start:

  1. You should check the serviceability of the entire ignition system and the presence of a spark (if necessary, clean or replace the spark plugs, check the terminal connections);
  2. Make sure there is enough fuel and oil (if there is not enough, the engine will not start);
  3. Inspect the fuel and air filters (during prolonged use they may become clogged with dirt, clean or replace them);
  4. Adjust the fuel mixture in the carburetor.

If the engine runs rough:

  1. Make sure the availability and quality of fuel (moisture may enter, it must be drained and refilled);
  2. Check the spark supply (clean the spark plug and securely fix the terminals);
  3. Clean the air and fuel filters.

Peculiarities

Varyag walk-behind tractors are produced in China, but over the past twenty years their official suppliers have been located in Russia. All cars from this manufacturer have the same standard equipment. The assembly of walk-behind tractors is characterized by high quality parts and functioning. “Varyag” units are composed of the following elements.

  • Support frame. It consists of a steel angle, which is treated with an anti-corrosion coating. The frame is characterized by strength, so it can withstand weights and additional canopies; a trailer weighing up to 600 kilograms is no exception.
  • Power plant. The walk-behind tractors are equipped with four-stroke gasoline engines, the liners of which are arranged vertically.

  • Chassis. The axle shaft is made from steel hexagons. Pneumatic wheels 4x10 are attached to it, as well as cutters and ground hooks, which have a diameter of 35 to 70 centimeters. Thanks to the ground clearance, the equipment has the ability to move through areas with difficult terrain.
  • Controls, which include the steering unit, which has rods, gas supply levers, and gear shifters. Thanks to the transmission, the mini-tractor moves at two speeds. The steering wheel can be adjusted both in height and width.

Coulter and adapter. These elements make it possible to attach additional units to the walk-behind tractor, without using an adapter. The coulters are adjustable in height, which can facilitate deeper cultivation of the soil.

Motoblocks "Varyag" are sold assembled and completely ready for use.

Before going to the counter, the equipment is checked to ensure the correct assembly and installation of each unit, as well as the mechanism.

The company produces high quality gardening equipment and power tools. SpetsTekhnika LLC carries out regular supplies of spare parts, so there are no problems with servicing the units.

Attachments

The Kubanets walk-behind tractors themselves are not functional. Their widespread use in rural areas is dictated by a large selection of attachments that can automate basic agricultural work. Below is an overview of each attachment in more detail.

Milling cutters

One of the basic characteristics of the Kubanets walk-behind tractor is the processing width of the cutters and their immersion depth. This attachment allows you to mix the top layer of soil, thereby increasing soil fertility and the resulting harvest.

Many Kubanets walk-behind tractors come with a set of cutters.

Plows

An alternative option for cutters is a plow. It has a similar scope, but is more used when working with virgin lands, when the surface is harder, the cutters simply cannot enter the ground and they constantly jump over the soil surface.

Mowers

Kubanets walk-behind tractors can help in removing weeds during their vigorous growth or preparing virgin lands for plowing.

The manufacturer offers its customers rotary mower options. This is their most popular modification. Rotary mowers cut the grass thanks to blades that rotate.

Kubanets walk-behind tractors, together with this attachment, are often used by utility companies to control the level of grass in parks and lawns, as well as by residents of rural areas for the purpose of storing hay for the winter.

Potato diggers and potato planters

Potatoes are a very popular crop in our country. However, the work of planting and digging it requires a lot of physical effort. Kubanets walk-behind tractors can lighten them with the help of potato diggers and potato planters.

Snow blower and shovel

When winter comes, many owners of Kubanets walk-behind tractors put their device in the garage before sowing begins. But in vain, because these machines can help with snow removal. This is especially true for rural residents, where there is no hope that utility companies will clean everything up in the morning, but you need to roll up your sleeves and clean up the mess yourself.

Snow blowers allow you to pick up a layer of snow and throw it over a long distance (from 7 meters). If there is little precipitation, you can use a shovel blade that throws snow nearby.

Thanks to the Kubanets walk-behind tractors and snow-clearing attachments, you can easily clear the exit from the garage, parking lot or sidewalk paths.

Adapter and trailers

Many Kubanets walk-behind tractors are powerful and are designed for use on plots of 20 acres or more. This is a definite plus. However, there is a fly in the ointment in this barrel of honey. You have to walk behind the walk-behind tractor and also guide the device. And this requires a lot of physical effort. To ease the burden on the owner, adapters were invented. These are special attachments with a seat, thanks to which you can control the Kubanets walk-behind tractor while sitting.

If you need to transport goods over long distances, you should purchase an additional trailer. The manufacturer offers its customers dump truck options. These trailers are very convenient to use and facilitate the unloading process.

Simply lift the front of the trailer. The maximum load capacity directly depends on the power of the Kubanets walk-behind tractor. The higher it is, the more he can transport.

Wheels, lugs and tracks

As standard, the Kubanets walk-behind tractor comes with a set of pneumatic wheels. Thanks to them, you can deliver the device to the place of operation and carry out work with additional attachments. Kubanets walk-behind tractors have high-quality tires, which allows you to work even on viscous soils.

If you have a small model, then when transporting goods or working with hard soil, the walk-behind tractor simply begins to slip and not perform the necessary task. To fix this, you can simply install lugs. They will allow the device to move more smoothly.

If you need to drive on snow or ice, grip on the surface is minimal, so neither lugs nor standard tires will help here.

In such situations, the manufacturer of walk-behind tractors Kubanets recommends installing a tracked attachment. It will increase the area of contact with the surface. And it will give the device versatility.

Weights

If you feel that your walk-behind tractor lacks just a little power, then try increasing traction with additional weight.

Hitch

A huge advantage of Kuban walk-behind tractors is their universal coupling, which allows the use of attachments from other manufacturers.

Device

The design of the Varyag motor-cultivator is, in principle, classic for this technique. There is a frame to which the gearbox and power unit are attached. The steering control of the cultivator, as well as a shank for attaching attachments, are attached to the same frame.

Power point

This gasoline engine is 4-stroke, with a displacement of 208 cc. see. It operates on gasoline, the power plant is started by a manual starter.

Gearbox

The gearbox is a chain drive and is located in a closed housing. At the top there is a drive shaft with a pulley. An intermediate shaft with sprockets is installed in the upper part, which selects the direction of movement. And from the intermediate shaft there is already a chain transmission to the lower driven shaft. To lubricate this gear, there is an oil filling hole in the housing.

The drive from the power plant to the gearbox is carried out by a belt drive using pulleys. Moreover, the force itself is regulated by belt tension. The transmission is carried out in this way: a drive pulley is placed on the crankshaft, and a driven pulley is placed on the gearbox shaft, with a belt located between them, but with virtually no tension. When the power plant is started and idling, the crankshaft with the drive pulley rotates, but since the belt is not tensioned, it transmits force to it.

On the frame there is a shaft with a lever, at the end of which a pressure roller is installed. A cable is also connected to the lever, which is used for control. To start moving, it is enough to press the cable drive handle, then the lever with the roller moves and begins to press on the belt, creating tension, due to which force begins to be transmitted from the knee pulley. Shaft to the gearbox pulley. The belt drive of the Varyag motor-cultivator is enclosed in a protective metal case.

Working equipment, steering

Instead of rototillers, metal wheels with lugs can be installed on the cultivator using extension inserts for performing a number of agricultural works, as well as wheels with rubber tires for transport work.

The steering of the Varyag is Y-shaped. The central part of the steering wheel is attached to the frame, then the steering wheel is separated.

How to start a walk-behind tractor in winter

The rules developed by suppliers so that walk-behind tractors can be started at any time of the year provide for certain mandatory actions on the part of the owner of the equipment.

First of all, you should prepare the device for launch. To do this, you need to fill in oil and fuel (gasoline or diesel, depending on the model). Also read the instructions carefully, as they contain information about whether it is worth diluting the fuel with oil for the winter and in what quantity.

Also on many Internet resources you can watch a video on how to start a particular model of cultivator.

Tips for choosing

The walk-behind tractor makes it easier to work in the garden and personal plot.

The purchase of this equipment is carried out for many years, so it is very important to make the right choice

First of all, you should pay attention to the power of the machine, because it is this characteristic that ensures the ability to process the area. If the soil is hard, then you should give preference to a more powerful unit.

It is also worth remembering that the more powerful the mini-tractor, the more fuel it needs, so if a small black soil area is being processed, then there is no need for powerful equipment.

Another important selection criterion is the type of fuel used. Gasoline engines have the advantages of being quiet and easy to start. Gasoline walk-behind tractors are considered suitable options for cottages and small areas. It is worth choosing a diesel machine if you need to work over a large area. This type of engine is recognized as more wear-resistant and reliable.

The weight of the walk-behind tractor is an indicator that also needs to be taken into account when purchasing equipment. Light walk-behind tractors are not a suitable option for difficult types of soil; in such cases, you should give preference to heavy equipment

You should not ignore the width of the cutters so that the work of the walk-behind tractor does not cause trouble. To become the owner of an inexpensive and reliable walk-behind tractor, you should pay attention to a machine with low power and cutters that are ideal for the planned work

Cultivators Varyag

In small areas, as well as in areas with inaccessible locations or complex configurations, the use of a tractor, with its overall dimensions, and even paired with agricultural equipment. a weapon, even a relatively compact one, will not bring any benefit. In such cases, the best solution is to use motor cultivators.

Because of this, small overall dimensions and high maneuverability make it possible to use cultivators not only in vegetable gardens, but also in flower beds, berry gardens and orchards.

There are now quite a lot of manufacturers of motorized cultivators, as this gardening equipment is becoming more and more popular. And Russian brands that have recently appeared on the market can be o.

Cultivators "Varyag" belong to the medium weight category of gardening equipment. Designed for pre-sowing, inter-row and harvesting work in vegetable gardens, as well as cultivating the soil between berry bushes and garden trees.

A feature of cultivators, which include “Varyag”, is non-turnover tillage - cultivation, but they can also plow the land, thanks to the use of a single-furrow plow as an attachment. In addition, “Varyag” allows you to perform inter-row cultivation, hilling, and digging up the potato crop due to replaceable attachments.

Varieties

Varyag offers consumers a wide range of equipment, which can be either diesel or gasoline. Each walk-behind tractor is characterized by high strength, reliability and unpretentiousness, but there are also characteristics that distinguish the models from each other. The most popular models of walk-behind tractors are as follows.

"MB-701" is the best representative of the middle class with high functionality characteristics. Often, with the help of such a machine, hilling, working with a soil hook, transporting cargo and much more are performed.

Buyers appreciate this model for its light weight, compact dimensions and high power. “MB-701” has a single-cylinder engine, a three-speed gearbox, and a 7-liter four-stroke gasoline engine. With.

  • "MB-901" is a reliable and multifunctional assistant for every owner. Additional accessories can be connected to this unit, which helps perform various tasks. This model is equipped with a 9 liter gear engine. With. Thanks to metal wheels, heavy soil cultivation is carried out. The equipment has an excellent working width and can also transport cargo that weighs half a ton.
  • "MB-801" operates on gasoline, producing 8 liters. With. With such engine power, the car is capable of consuming little fuel. Maneuverability is achieved due to the special design and large wheels, so the equipment travels through the most neglected areas. The machine has reverse, belt clutch and chain drive type. Along with the mini-tractor, the user purchases mudguards, pneumatic wheels, a bumper, projection wings, and an extension. The “MB-801” frame is made from corners with a reinforced plan that are treated with an anti-corrosion coating. This element of the walk-behind tractor is powerful, so it can withstand weights of about 600 kilograms.

  • "MB-903". This model is equipped with a reliable 6 hp diesel engine. With. Thanks to its operation on diesel fuel, the machine can operate for a long time. The three operating speeds available ensure ease of operation. The starter is started both mechanically and electrically. With proper installation of attachments, a mini-tractor of this model is capable of transporting a load that weighs 550 kilograms. Milling cutters for the walk-behind tractor are included with the equipment. This unit is not characterized by overheating, since it is cooled by air.
  • "MB-905" is a high-power diesel multifunctional unit. It is designed to perform a large number of different tasks. The design of the battery in the MB-905 made it a silent motor resource. The equipment has good maneuverability and performance.

Diesel walk-behind tractors Varyag

The main advantage of diesel engines over gasoline engines is their longer service life. Subject to the rules of running-in and operation, it can reach 3000 m/h. The 903 model is equipped with a KAMAZ brand engine. With low fuel consumption, the engine produces enough torque to handle the toughest tasks. Owners note the high performance of the unit and good traction due to the fact that the diesel engine weighs more than its gasoline counterparts.

The main technical indicators of the Varyag MB-903 model are as follows:

  • power - 12 hp;
  • weight - 130 kg;
  • maximum load towing speed - up to 15 km/h;
  • plowing/loosening depth - 30 cm;
  • working width - 120 cm;
  • starting system - manual and electric starter.

The undoubted advantage of the diesel engine is its efficiency. Having a torque higher than that of its gasoline counterparts, the 903 model unit consumes 2 times less fuel.

The disadvantage of a diesel engine is its high cost and the high cost of repairs if it breaks or wears out. To operate at subzero temperatures, the unit must be refueled with arctic fuel, which must be stocked up in advance. In addition, the operator must constantly monitor the level of diesel fuel in the tank, since emptying it leads to clogging of the nozzles.

Operation and Maintenance

For long-term and uninterrupted operation of the walk-behind tractor, a very important stage is its first run-in, which lasts at least eight hours. The equipment must be assembled strictly according to the instructions. You can install the generator using a specific diagram. If the work is carried out incorrectly and the black carburetor plug is placed incorrectly, the winding may catch fire.

When installing the generator, you should use two blue wires that connect to the converter. The red wire is necessary for feeding and charging. When running the engine for the first time, you should not perform heavy work at maximum power. At the end of the process, it is necessary to change the oil.

Motoblocks are quite unpretentious to maintenance. The main thing you should not forget about is timely change of engine oil, as recommended by the manufacturer. Before starting work, the walk-behind tractor must be carefully inspected, the serviceability of parts and wiring must be checked. Also, do not forget about lubricating the shift levers with Salidol or Litol-24.

Many malfunctions of Varyag walk-behind tractors can be corrected independently. For example, if the engine fails to start, you should check the ignition, the presence of a spark, make sure that the fuel volume is sufficient for the normal functioning of the machine, and also check the cleanliness of the filters. The problem of the engine running rough may be hidden in the absence or poor quality of fuel, dirty filters or lack of spark supply.

3rd method: by installing additional gaskets (changing the gasket)

If the previous methods of converting a walk-behind tractor to 92 gasoline seem too labor-intensive, you can limit yourself to simpler ones. The first of them is based on the fact that the cylinder head is reinforced with 3 additional gaskets at once. The middle one will remove excess heat. It is ideal if you have silumin or another made of light alloy material on hand.

All of them must be commensurate with each other

It is important to calculate the thickness of the middle gasket

To do this, use the formula (all in mm):

Vsr = 4 mm - (Vv + Vn) + 0.7 mm (shrinkage coefficient), where:

Вв – height of the upper gasket;

Vn – bottom.

The valve pushers that were on the old MTZ-05 or MTZ-12 walk-behind tractor may remain old. Only their rods need to be replaced (they are needed shorter than in the design for 80-octane gasoline).

The second is the usual replacement of the gasket between the cylinder and the cylinder head. The standard ones are replaced with more durable ones, for example, made from paranite.

As you can see, after minor modifications, the walk-behind tractor can operate stably on high-octane gasoline.

Operation and Maintenance

New owners of the Krotoff walk-behind tractor must read the operating instructions. It contains basic data from the manufacturer regarding the characteristics of the device, its structure, the sequence of assembly and running-in, the nuances of operation and the schedule of preventive maintenance.

This video review shows the assembly process of factory cutters:

Run-in

Before starting use, be sure to read the user manual. After assembling the Krotof walk-behind tractor, be sure to fill it with fuel and gasoline. Many owners forget about this and immediately hear a strange noise from the engine.

After this, it is necessary to run-in. This procedure allows the engine parts to clearly fit into the required grooves and rub against each other, since the factory assembly necessarily contains minor errors.

According to the user manual, running-in should occur within 5 operating hours.

At this time, it is necessary to use the walk-behind tractor at low speeds and with minimal loads. The ideal break-in is considered to be driving with an empty trailer or plowing at a minimum depth in soft soil.

Oil

In order for the Krotoff walk-behind tractor to last as long as possible, it is necessary to carry out preventive maintenance in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.

  • The engine oil should be changed every 25 hours of operation of the device. The instruction manual recommends using 10W-40 or 10W-30.
