The transition from 5th to 8th gears to a lower row of the divider (1st to 4th speeds) is only permissible at a vehicle speed of less than 40 km/h. The Mercedes-Benz Actros is equipped as standard with the new, fully automatic 12-speed PowerShift G211/G281 transmission. It is distinguished by increased speed and precision in work. As before, there are automatic operating modes: EcoRoll - for economical driving, Rocking - “swinging” (when slipping) and especially powerful - Power. But the maneuvering mode - Manoevring - was replaced with a “crawling” mode - Crawler. You can drive it without pressing the accelerator, which simplifies the driver’s work.
To improve efficiency, hypoid axles were installed. The gear ratio has been reduced from 2.846 to 2.611. And the car reaches the “maximum speed” of 85 km/h in 12th gear at 1260 rpm instead of 1370.
There is a wider frame (834 instead of 744 mm) with improved torsional rigidity. To increase stability and comfort, the wheel suspension has been redesigned: instead of two air springs at the rear, there are four. The weight of the front leaf spring suspension has been reduced. To improve handling, steering with a different gear ratio was used.
Top quality and safety. The Actros is already equipped with a Lane Keeping Assist road marking monitoring system and an airbag for the driver. And the “classic” package includes the Active Brake Assist system with automatic emergency braking function when an obstacle occurs.

Depending on the season, as well as the wear of the fuel system, fuel consumption ranges from 28 to 37 liters per 100 kilometers. In various modifications, the fuel tank capacity is from 450 to 1200 liters. All of them are equipped with a 12-speed, 16-speed non-synchronous, manual transmission with a tellijent 1 and 2 switching system. As well as a V-shaped turbodiesel in two variations - 6-cylinder 12 liters (320-440 hp) and 8- cylinder 16 liters (460-600 hp). With all this, these tractors develop a maximum speed of 162 km/h. It is interesting that, according to the general opinion of truck drivers in the CIS countries, these cars have a powerful engine, are very light and pleasant to drive, but have the disadvantage of a not very strong suspension.

Modifications
The driver's station in the L cab features a spacious overhead bin and secure shelves for cups, cans and bottles. Under them there is a 5.5 liter drawer for transport and other documents. Heating, ventilation, air conditioning: L and Megaspace cabins are equipped with manually adjustable air conditioning as standard. At the customer's request, a climate control system is available that controls the parameters of the fan, temperature and air distribution.
