Nissan NV200 1.5, 2.0 fuel consumption per 100 km.

When the Nissan e-NV200 was first introduced in 2014, it was billed as a Nissan Leaf with a van body style, but it's actually much more than a reimagining of the electric hatchback. For starters, the e-NV200 is an unconventional size - it's taller than most other small vans. This means it is automatically better suited for businesses looking to maximize loading space in a zero-emission van. And while the electric vehicle market was still relatively immature at the time, the e-NV200 has proven to be among the best of them in recent years.

The first models were equipped with a 24 kWh battery, providing a real range of less than 100 km. However, in 2022 the e-NV200 has been upgraded with a new 40kWh battery, which increases its official range to 280km, or over 160km in real-world conditions. This still may not seem like much, but any increase in range is a significant improvement in both comfort and practicality.

The latest version of the e-NV200 is suitable for a wider range of users than previous versions. And for added peace of mind, it's worth considering how often you'll actually be using your van for trips of more than 80-100km a day. Especially in urban environments, it usually happens that you rarely travel more than 160 km. Worrying about range limitations becomes less of an issue when you realize you won't be making long trips as often.

Like its diesel sibling, the e-NV200 is available as a five-seat combi van or a five to seven-seat people carrier. The E-NV200 comes in only one size with a 107 HP electric motor. Three trim levels are also available: the entry-level Visia, mid-range Acenta and top-end Tekna.

While electric vans are far from dominating the segment, the Nissan e-NV200 has a surprising number of competitors: the Renault Kangoo ZE, electric versions of the Citroën Berlingo and Peugeot Partner, and the upcoming Volkswagen e-Caddy. There are also larger electric vans: the Renault Master ZE and the Volkswagen e-Crafter.

Performance and driving

The e-NV200's big advantage over diesel-powered vans is that the torque from its electric motor is immediate (all 254Nm) and that you don't have a gear change. Consequently, the driving experience is smoother and easier.

The obvious limitation is its shorter service range, but with a battery that allows the e-NV200 to cover over 100 miles on a single charge in real-world conditions, many vans, especially those operated by businesses with highly specialized areas of work, won't be able to travel even that much.

Sometimes there are longer trips thanks to fast charging; The built-in 6.6 kW charger allows you to charge the battery up to 80% in just 30 minutes at a charging point that you can find in any auto repair shop. This compares to eight hours from a 32A wall box.

There's also an Eco mode that helps drivers extend the van's range. This limits acceleration and increases the amount of energy extracted during coasting and braking. This is a useful addition to the overall driving experience because it promotes much greater awareness and forward planning to maximize the regenerative potential of systems. However, with the Eco button turned off, the e-NV200 is a surprisingly quick little van.

The floor batteries help lower its center of gravity, and in such a high-sided van it certainly makes it feel more planted than the diesel-powered NV200.

The real bonus, however, is the absolute silence of its driving experience. The 1.5-litre diesel engine in the NV200 isn't particularly noisy unless you have a five-speed manual gearbox and if you do a lot of motorway driving. But without the engine, the e-NV200 becomes truly relaxing and serene thanks to its absolute silence. There is road noise, but only because there is nothing else to drown it out, I wouldn't call it too annoying.

About the model

The Nissan automobile brand is considered one of the industry leaders. The company produces a wide variety of classes of machines. However, they have a lot in common. The brand's cars are distinguished by their reliability, ease of maintenance and durability. The technical content of a Nissan car is often superior to competitors in the same price category.

It is for the combination of these factors that drivers fell in love with cars of this brand. A positive opinion has been formed about many of the brand’s cars. Positive reviews about the Nissan NV 200 only prove this thesis.

Interior

Inside, there's nothing much to differentiate the e-NV200 electric van from its diesel sibling - other than the replacement of the manual shifter with an automatic-type lever that controls park and drive modes.

In terms of space, the e-NV200 is a fairly large van and its tall and slim exterior doesn't compromise the interior. The driving position is fairly upright without being awkward, and aside from feeling oddly proportioned, it's a perfectly acceptable driving position.

However, the plastic quality after the upgrade leaves much to be desired, and the problem with internal storage is that most of the compartments are open and small. However, the passenger seat folds down to give you room to work. We recommend installing additional storage trays between the seats and a similar tray under the seat to ensure adequate storage space.

Space and trunk

You'd think that with all those batteries, the e-NV200's boot would suffer in terms of both payload and volume compared to the diesel, but they're located under the floor and have little impact on cargo space, so you have the same maximum load here , as in the NV200 - 4.2 m3.

Batteries have almost no effect on the maximum load weight. Payload only drops to 701kg - around 50kg less than the diesel version - because the combustion engine and gearbox have been removed. Compared to other small vans, its load capacity is the largest in the sector, and the largest of any small electric van.

It measures 4650 mm long, 2011 mm wide (including mirrors) and 1860 mm high, with a maximum load length of 2040 x 1500 x 1358 mm.

If you need to carry even longer loads, such as ladders, you can upgrade to the Versatility Package. It includes a folding mesh partition and a folding passenger seat, and extends the length of the load space to 2800mm.

The loading height (floor) is 524 mm, and the side door opens to 1171. The rear doors can both be opened to 180 degrees.

Costs and verdict

Whether or not you buy an electric van, the key question to consider is whether it's right for your needs. If you're an occasional commuter who often has to travel over 100 miles in a single day, they're probably not for you right now. However, if you can charge frequently, can plan your trips or work within a limited radius of your base, then chances are you could benefit greatly from owning an electric van, with running costs as low as 2p per mile.

When it comes to choosing which e-NV200 to choose, we recommend going with the mid-range Acenta because it gives you hardware that helps maximize your electric range. This includes a fast charger, battery heater and cooler, and cruise control. It also comes with air conditioning.

Every e-NV200 benefits from NissanConnect EV telematics, which includes the ability to remotely pre-regulate the temperature inside the van while charging before the start of the day. This minimizes battery usage while the vehicle reaches the driver's desired temperature. The system also allows you to remotely monitor the battery charging status.

Nissan's generous warranty terms are the icing on the cake. As with its diesel vans, the NV400, NV300 and NV200, it comes with five years of backup and a range of up to 96,000km, while the batteries are protected against 25% capacity loss and are protected for up to eight years or 160,000km .

Nissan nv200: technical specifications, reviews of the Nissan nv 200

Have a good day and bright skies above everyone.

This review will be dedicated to a good workhorse that was purchased for work.

The selection requirements were the following: — More or less roomy interior. — Availability of a machine gun. — Acceptable fuel consumption. — Handling and sane suspension.

To be honest, it took me a long time to choose, because the budget was limited, and the criteria for having an automatic transmission narrowed the search for a “commercial” car to Japanese and Korean cars, since the European ones (mostly French and Italian) are all manual. Of course, I wanted to return to the Grand Starex from Hyundai, but alas, the prices are very unaffordable... Therefore, the choice was made on the hero of the review - a light Japanese commercial vehicle from Nissan, produced in 2010 for a total cost of 516,000 rubles.

The configuration is a cargo-passenger 5-seater and a five-door version: with two front seats and a 3-seater bench in the back and a cargo compartment. Let me note right away that there are different configurations, including passenger ones, but the car was developed as a commercial vehicle, because anyone looking for a purely family car should look towards other cars.

As noted above, the car is Japanese, i.e. it is right-hand drive, if you wish, you can get used to the controls and driving style in a maximum of a week. By the way, there is also a left-handed version, mainly for Europe and America - called Nissan Evalia, but it is not supplied to Russia, one of the reasons is the high cost.

I purchased it at an auction through a company, since buying such a car secondhand is a risk of roulette, it is unknown in what hands it was and how it was used and treated. Of course, the acquisition took time and nerves - from ordering to arrival at the port and customs clearance it took almost a month and a half.

The car's handling is good, visibility is good, and the driver has a good high seating position. The interior decoration is ascetic, but everything you need is there, including electricity. window lifters. By the way, while the driver’s seat is adjustable, the front passenger seat is not, that is, it cannot be moved back and forth, it is firmly fixed (at least on my configuration).

I am also pleased with its dimensions - the car is very nimble and can fit well into small places for the same turn or stop due to its size. Regarding the dimensions: Total length 4.4 meters, height 1.85 m, width 1.7 m. Well, you can say a lot of epithets about the internal dimensions of the cabin, but I will say one thing - a lot of things and more will fit.

Fuel consumption (92 gasoline) is around 6-7 liters on the highway and 8-9 in the city with the air conditioning on in the summer or the heater in the winter. The place of operation is the Black Sea coast - Anapa and Novorossiysk. The speed performance is acceptable, at 80 km/h it drives confidently, including when loaded (not the full load weight, of course).

The automatic transmission (classic, not a CVT) in the NV200 is unpretentious - although it is a simple four-speed, it works perfectly in tandem with the engine, although it is a little dull for jerking.

The engine under the hood, by the way, has a volume of 1.6 liters and a power of 109 horses. By the way, the HR16DE engine is known in our domestic automobile industry as the H4M (after all, a development of the Nissan-Renault concern). What’s also nice is the free space in the engine compartment; you can crawl up to everything and have a look.

The most important thing is that the car is unpretentious; the rear suspension is spring (single-leaf), and the front is spring (old MacPherson). This, of course, is both a plus and a minus at the same time, because an empty car is a little “goofy,” but when loaded and on a more or less good road, this is not noticeable. Ground clearance is around 16 cm, which can be raised with spacers if desired.

But as noted above, this is a commercial car, and for a small business and as a housewife for a family, it is simply excellent - roomy, nimble and nimble.

As for the appearance, in my opinion it’s a pretty nice minivan/van, devoid of any frills, but not requiring them for its purpose.

But now there are a few disadvantages and nuances of this car: - The first is the rear bench, since most of the NV200 cargo-passenger cars sold are 5-seater, then you will have to forget about the comfort of the rear passengers, the purpose of the bench is for short trips of passengers.

— This is also the fact that there is no noise and thermal insulation in principle, i.e. if the Japanese owner did not make it in Japan itself, then you have to do it yourself without fail, because bare metal comes from the factory, all this applies to purely cargo and cargo-passenger versions

— The steering wheel is adjustable, but only in one plane, up or down, but also limited. — As noted above, the suspension is stiff and “goaty” on an empty car and on uneven roads. — Also, in terms of maintenance, it is difficult to find spare parts, only to order, with consumables (filters) are simpler, so this must be kept in mind right away. — Absence (in the cargo-passenger version) of a cabin filter; there is a plug located at the passenger’s feet on the right. — And to change the cabin filter and even the oil filter, you will have to try a little, the location of both is not the most accessible and understandable. — Also, the fuel filter (gasoline) is located in the gas tank in conjunction with the pump (they come as one unit - that is, the fuel station) and can only be changed as a kit. — Its carrying capacity is stated to be 600 kg and this is the limit for a car; loading more than the norm will naturally kill the car (engine and gearbox). Therefore, you can’t be overzealous with overloading; if you need to carry something heavy, then this car is not for you. — There are not enough compartments/pockets for small items in the car. — You also need to get used to the brakes first, they are very tenacious and when you press the pedals a little, the car immediately nods.

But even with all the above disadvantages, this car satisfies me because it copes with the functions and work assigned to it, and even as an everyday car for traveling around the city and suburbs. Therefore, if you are looking for a light commercial vehicle or as a “housewife” for your home, then this option is quite good and promising.
