The Shantui SL60W front loader is equipped with wheel travel. The SL50W model, which is less productive, powerful and efficient, was used as a prototype for its production. The new car has large dimensions, tubeless tires and increased cross-country ability. It is characterized by a weight of 20 tons, a bucket volume of 3.5 m3 and a load capacity of 6 tons. Thanks to these features, it is used in the mining industry, industrial, housing and road construction, and in warehouses.

Engine

The loader is equipped with motors manufactured by Shangchai and Weichai (China) on models 60W and 60W-2, respectively. They consume diesel fuel, but have different volumes. The power of the installation is 175 horsepower, and the shaft rotation speed is 2200 rpm.

The Weichai requires a longer wheelbase, measuring 3.4m in length instead of the standard 3.2m. This increases the vehicle's length from 8.35m to 8.69m.

The minimum fuel consumption of Shantui SL60W is 215 g/kW per hour of operation.

Chassis

The loader is equipped with a hydromechanical four-speed gearbox, which includes two reverse gears, switchable under load. The front axle of Shantui SL60W-2 is rigid, the rear axle is swinging with the frame. They are not equipped with suspension, so the rear axle can deviate relative to the front by 35 degrees.

Improved transmission and hydraulics allow the vehicle to move at speeds of up to 38 km/h forward and up to 24 km/h back. The small turning radius is due to the articulated frame. The maximum surmountable slope is 30 degrees.

Tire protection is due to the use of the same tread on all wheels. Air brakes provide safety and stability, increasing work productivity.

The Shantui loader is based on a frame consisting of 2 sections, which are connected to each other by a hinge. The rear part is used to install the diesel engine, related components and gearbox. The power unit is closed on top with a removable hood that is explosion-proof. The front part of the frame is used to install levers to which attachments are attached. The wheels on the front and rear axles are the same size.

In front of the engine there is an operator’s cabin equipped with a chair with shock-absorbing support. The cabin is equipped with heating and ventilation, and is mounted on special cushions that reduce vibrations. The design of the panels provides protection from dust.

Diesel engines from several manufacturers are offered to complete the machines. Transmission units have their own original design. Unified gearboxes are used on machines with different load capacities. A torque converter is used to transmit torque from the engine to the gearbox.

The manufacturer offers the following equipment for loaders:

• crane boom of standard length (without blocks);

• blade for snow removal (with a fixed installation angle).

SL30W

The machine is designed for mechanical loading and unloading of bulk and lump rocks with a density of up to 2.5 t/m³. It is possible to use the loader for excavation work on soft soil of category 1-2. It is allowed to move category 3 soils, but only after preliminary loosening. The equipment remains operational in the ambient temperature range from -40°C to +40°C.

The Shantui SL30W front loader is based on an articulated frame, with attachment points for the handle of attachments installed on the front section. The factory offers 2 handle options - standard and extended. The wheels are equipped with dry-type disc brakes equipped with a pneumatic drive. The cars have 3 types of diesel engines assembled by the Chinese companies Xichai, Weichai Deutz or Dongfeng Cummins. The engines have the same power of 125 hp and are equipped with turbochargers.

The engines work in conjunction with a 4-speed hydromechanical transmission, allowing speeds of up to 35 km/h. For reversing there are 2 gears, the speed reaches 27 km/h. The front drive axle beam is rigidly mounted on the front section of the frame. The rear axle is driven and can swing within a range of 35° on an articulated joint together with the subframe. The axle housings are standardized and designed for 25 liters of lubricant. To increase cross-country ability, snow chains can be installed.

The Shantui SL30W front loader is equipped with a closed all-metal cabin designed for 1 person. The attachments and transmission are controlled using joysticks.

SL50W

The Shantui SL50W wheel loader is built on a chassis with a shortened wheelbase, which improves the maneuverability of the machine. The frame consists of 2 asymmetrical parts connected by a hinge unit. The sections themselves are made by welding from a steel profile. The machine can be equipped with a bucket designed for 1.8 or 2.2 m³ of soil. The unit, increased in volume, is used for loading and unloading operations in coal warehouses.

The base model uses a power unit manufactured by Weichai. The engine is equipped with a supercharging system and develops a power of 220 hp. at 2000 rpm. Exhaust toxicity complies with Tier II standards. Some vehicles are equipped with an Eberspacher pre-heater, which warms up the liquid in the cooling system.

The modification of the Shantui SL50W 2 front loader is distinguished by the installation of a 220-horsepower Shangchai engine. A 50W 3 version is available, which uses a 218-horsepower Dongfeng Cummins diesel engine. The motors have a similar design and allow the installation of an additional autonomous heater. A hydraulic 4-speed transmission is available for all engines.

SL60W

The Shantui SL60W front loader has increased productivity and is used in quarries, for unloading and loading bulk materials in large warehouses and railway stations. The equipment is equipped with a Chinese diesel engine manufactured by Shangchai or Weichai. The modifications are designated 60W and 60W 2, respectively. The engines have different displacements and develop a power of 175 hp. at 2200 rpm. The car is equipped with a 4-speed transmission equipped with 2 reverse speeds.

The axles are not equipped with suspension; the rear beam can deviate relative to the front section of the frame by 35°. The use of the Weichai engine required lengthening the wheelbase of the vehicle from 3200 mm to 3400 mm. The overall length also increased accordingly - from 8351 to 8692 mm. The working equipment is installed on a standard-length lever system. The extended version is not offered by the factory.

The boom equipment has a standard length and is manufactured in only one design.

In the basic assembly, a bucket is installed as the main working body. It is attached using two “arms”, which allows for efficient loading, unloading and moving of material. The loader is capable of moving loads into trucks or pits, as well as removing materials from them.
