Operating manual for Snowmobile DINGO T150 (part 1)

Irbis Dingo T150 is a time-tested snowmobile that has gone through three generations. Of course, the developers did a good job fixing the mistakes and created the model together with Russian engineers. The model in question is equipped with a powerful engine, and unlike its predecessors, it has good traction characteristics. This is facilitated by efficient air cooling. To increase cross-country ability, the manufacturer has provided an enlarged caterpillar track - its length is 2626 mm. The tape is made of reinforced material on a rubber-fabric base. In addition, the car received lugs increased to 23 mm. The device is also equipped with an improved roller-slide suspension, reinforced with two shock absorbers.

The snowmobile in question received an electric starter, although the car can be started manually. It is noteworthy that the snowmobile has compact dimensions, but at the same time is capable of transporting loads weighing up to 150 kg. Moreover, this model will become a worthy alternative to special transport in various farms.

The Irbis Dingo T150 model is equipped with a reversible gearbox, as well as heated steering wheel grip and throttle trigger functions. Heating can be switched between two modes, resulting in comfortable operation regardless of weather conditions. Among the pleasant little things, we note a special glove compartment under the seat. You can place various things and accessories in it, as well as tools and necessary spare parts. Large cargo can also be placed in this luggage compartment. A reinforced towbar allows you to transport a sled with additional cargo, the weight of which can reach 150 kg. If necessary, you can use a 12 V socket to which you can connect a navigator or smartphone battery. We highly note the multifunctional panel, on which you can display information about the engine crankshaft speed, external air temperature, oil pressure, daily mileage, etc.

In terms of handling, the Dingo T150 is simple and informative. Thus, the car is equipped with a CVT operating in stepless mode. The power plant and variator are adapted to work in low-temperature conditions. The engine is air-cooled and has a pre-heater. In case of overheating, an exclamation mark icon appears on the dashboard. This situation can arise, for example, when the internal combustion engine operates for many hours, or under high load (with high load capacity).

The Irbis Dingo T150 snowmobile has good maneuverability, and in terms of handling, it is definitely better than its previous analogues, taking into account the instantaneous reactions of the machine when changing the steering wheel. The driver does not have to lean over to make a turn. Moreover, the machine has excellent traction properties, which is very important for overcoming difficult icy areas. In field conditions, the Dingo T-150 snowmobile behaves predictably, as well as in deep snowdrifts. This was confirmed by successful factory tests of endurance and load capacity. One of the disadvantages is the poor placement of the footrests. These footrests are not very suitable for tall drivers, whose feet will slip off. However, as an alternative, other, larger footrests can be installed on request.

Based on the above arguments, we can be convinced that the Dingo T-150 has more advantages than disadvantages. It is ideal for the needs of fishermen and hunters, because it is endowed with excellent geometric cross-country ability and comfortable suspension. It has good traction characteristics.

Test Drive

Some compare this budget snowmobile with expensive models that cost an order of magnitude higher. However, this is not a completely appropriate comparison. A test drive shows that the car performs quite well on packed snow. Thanks to the long caterpillar, it practically does not bury itself in areas with loose snow.

At the same time, the all-terrain vehicle confidently reaches a speed of up to a maximum of 45 km per hour. If you believe the reviews of the owners, it consumes relatively little fuel - about 8 liters per 100 kilometers. Despite the fact that the tank capacity is 7 liters, the trunk allows you to take an additional canister with you.

In addition, this “snowball” is very knowledgeable. In parts it fits well in a car like the UAZ “Patriot”. At the same time, test runs show excellent cross-country ability - it passes in those places where an all-wheel drive vehicle sits on the bottom.

Ways to make it easier to start the engine in severe frost:

  1. When you have finished driving, before turning off the engine, press the throttle lever firmly several times. The spark plug will be cleaned and the snowmobile will be easier to start next time.
  2. Start the snowmobile periodically to warm up the engine. At a temperature of about -30 degrees, the engine cools down to air temperature in 30-40 minutes.
  3. Remove the battery from the snowmobile and keep it warm when parked for long periods of time.
  4. Do not allow the battery to over-discharge; if possible, do not leave the snowmobile in severe frost for a long time (starting at low temperatures harms the engine).

Driving a snowmobile is a fun experience and we hope that you will truly enjoy it.

Reviews

  • Boris, Irkutsk. The car was purchased relatively recently, in maintained condition. I must admit, at first I was delighted with the ergonomics of the snowmobile - the Chinese are great. At the same time, the machine has a fairly simple design, and operating it is not difficult. This is my first snowmobile and I quickly found my fit. The seat is quite comfortable and, moreover, there are footrests - specifically for my feet. There is a heated grip and seat function. Comfort is decent considering the low price. The control levers are also quite ergonomic, but there are some drawbacks. For example, this is the windshield, which greatly impairs visibility. It is low and the wind blows straight into your face. And all due to the fact that the glass is installed at a right angle.
  • Nikolay, Yekaterinburg. I have been using the Irbis Dingo T-150 for two years, I have been using it for the third season. The odometer shows 1500 km. The car met all my expectations - both good and bad. After all, it’s clear what you can expect from cheap Chinese equipment. At the very least, this sled has a surprisingly high payload capacity that can exceed 120 kg. Plus, you can add two passengers here, including me, the driver. But it’s impossible to accelerate above 40 km/h. But even at this speed the car does not stand well on the road. There are disadvantages to a narrow wheelbase - for example, from a safety point of view, because you can easily fly off a snowmobile if you lose your balance. The heated steering wheel works poorly, the handles are still cold in the cold. Fuel consumption does not hurt your pockets, although this is understandable, because there are only 10 horses under the hood. The car is light and compact and can go absolutely everywhere. But if you can push something, it won’t be too difficult.

Disassembly Features

To disassemble this snowmobile, you need to perform the following steps:

  1. Unscrew the fastening screw of the windshield and steering wheel bracket. Take them off.
  1. Unscrew the central fastening screw of the plastic protection on the motor block.

  1. Remove the fasteners from both sides of the saddle frame.

  1. Remove the plastic from the motor block.

  1. Fold the seat back and remove the fastening screw.

  1. Remove the battery and seat. Be sure to first disconnect all wires from the battery.
  1. Unfasten and remove the footrest.

  1. Remove the chain guard and carefully remove the chain.

  1. Disassemble the snowmobile into two parts - the track block and the motor block, after first disconnecting the rear light block.
  1. Unscrew and remove the track from the steering knuckle.
  1. Remove the trunk by unscrewing the towing eye.

To assemble the all-terrain vehicle, you should perform the same steps, only in reverse order.

Purpose of a snowmobile.

In order for the Dingo T150 to serve its owner for as long as possible, it is worth taking proper care of it. Following several rules will make it easier to start a snowmobile in extreme cold:

In Russia, a local dealer offers a limited range of their snowmobiles. In addition to the original model Irbis Dingo T200, you can also find an improved device called T200 By X-Motors. The peculiarity of this car is the tuning of the external and technical parts. The package also includes a more reliable Japanese CVT and an improved engine with increased displacement. It is also produced under license from Japanese partners. The modernization carried out significantly affected the speed characteristics of the snowmobile, while the cost remained at the same level. Of course, there are tuning options from other companies, but the T200 By X-Motors version is considered the most technically advanced.

The history of snowmobiles

The first snowmobiles, which became the prototype of modern snowmobiles, were developed back in 1903 by designer S. S. Nezhdanovsky. The principle of their operation was the action of an internal combustion engine on a special propeller, which set the unusual sled in motion. Such an invention was truly priceless in the vast Russian expanses and snowy winters. Snowmobiles were necessary both in everyday use and in wartime.

With the advent of the track system, with the help of the French inventor Adolphe Kegresse, the first analogue of the snowmobile was invented, tested and introduced in 1911.

Thus began the development of self-propelled sleds, which have undergone various changes over time. This ultimately led to the invention of the modern snowmobile, capable of covering endless kilometers of snow-covered path in the shortest possible time.

Review of two Irbis snowmobiles - Irbis DINGO T110 and DINGO T125 It is necessary to go down in a strictly straight line, keeping your feet on the pegs and transferring the weight of your bodies back; Excessive speed when going downhill can cause you to lose control of your snowmobile. The updated Irbis Dingo T150 has rollers installed on the caterpillar block instead of driven stars, which affected the weight of the block itself and the entire track will be less clogged with snow.
