The bus with the model name PAZ 3205 was put into serial production in 1989 and was modified several times during this period. The model belongs to the class of small high-floor buses, which is well suited for transporting small groups of people over short distances. PAZ 3205 is considered the base model of the Pavlovsk Automobile Plant, although its technical characteristics are similar to later series of vehicles.

PAZ 3205 is equipped with different types of domestic and foreign gasoline engines. The new modifications achieve fuel savings of 2-3 liters per 100 km. The total fuel consumption of new modifications of the bus is 18 liters if the equipment operates in a mixed cycle. In the urban cycle, consumption is 20.5 liters. The capacity of the standard fuel tank is enough for a trip of 500 kilometers without the need for intermediate refueling.

The bus has a pneumatic braking system. Some modifications are marked by the presence of a pneumatic-hydraulic braking system equipped with dual-circuit ABS. The PAZ 3205 is controlled by the MAZ 64229 steering system with a standard hydraulic booster. At the same time, a fully loaded bus can reach a speed of 100-120 kilometers per hour.

Story

It was developed by creating dozens of prototypes over almost 15 years. The basis was the one developed in 1972-1977. and the PAZ-3203 bus, prepared for serial production since 1979, but never put into production[1]. The first pilot batch of buses for testing was manufactured in 1979, and assembly line assembly began in 1984[2]. The final version of the bus was approved in 1986. Mass production began on December 1, 1989, when the assembly line completely stopped production of the previous PAZ-672M model. On June 4, 2001, the plant celebrated the production of the 100,000th bus of this model. In 2008, production was modernized, which made it possible to carry out certification for regular use on busy routes, the service life of the body increased significantly (from 5 to 10 years), a more efficient heater and more comfortable seats were installed in the cabin.[3] In 2014, production of the restyled version began [4].

Special devices prevent movement when the doors are open and limit the speed to no more than 60 km/h.
