Manual Foton Auman BJ 1093 (3/5/STX/ETX/H2) 2012 - page 4
Foton Auman BJ 1093. Combination switch
The combination switch handle contains the turn signal switch, headlight switch, headlight dimmer and headlight flasher switch.
The combination switch handle is located to the left of the steering column.
Turn signal switch
When you move the combination switch handle in the direction of rotation, the turn signal and the corresponding indicator on the instrument panel flash. When the steering wheel returns to its original position, the shift knob automatically returns to its original center position.
Light switch
The lighting switch has two positions:
Position 1: Front and rear position lights, license plate lights and instrument lights.
Position 2: headlights.
Foton Auman BJ 1093. Headlight dimmer
When you move the dimmer handle up and down, you alternately switch to low and high beam modes. When switching to high beam mode, the corresponding instrument panel indicators light up.
Foton Auman BJ 1093. Headlight flashing switch
Each time you move the combination switch down/up, the headlights turn on/off. To signal your intention to overtake, move the lever up/down several times. Perform these steps during the day and switch between low and high beams several times at night.
The switch activates the engine retarder, which closes the flap in the exhaust manifold, increasing the braking effect.
When the switch lever is moved up, the indicator light turns on to indicate that the retarder is in working condition. The switch lever is located to the right of the steering column. When driving downhill or on a road with many traffic lights, it is recommended to use the retarder. When you press the accelerator pedal or clutch pedal, the retarder is released. When idling in preheating mode, the retarder switch must be in the “OFF” position.
It is strictly forbidden to apply the exhaust brake in neutral gear. In this case, the engine may be turned off. Do not press the accelerator and clutch pedals while the exhaust brake is applied. When you press these pedals, the retarder will be turned off. For models meeting Euro III emission standards: the engine speed required to operate the retarder must exceed a certain set value. Wiper Control Switch The wiper control switch has four gears to control the speed of the windshield wipers.
1 Shutdown
2 Intermittent mode
3 Slow
4 Fast
To avoid scratching the glass surface, do not turn on the windshield wipers if the windshield is dry. Do not turn on windshield wipers that are stuck or frozen to the windshield. Otherwise, their mechanism may be damaged.
When you move the windshield wiper control switch to the second position (“INT” (intermittent mode)), you can use this control to set the wiper interval.
Flashing Hazard Light Switch
When the handle of this switch is lifted, all turn signals will flash regardless of the position of the turn signal switch. Switching off is done by lifting the handle again.
The hazard warning switch can only be used if the vehicle poses a danger to other road users.
Dimmer switch
Turn the wheel to adjust the brightness of different types of lighting fixtures.
Rear fog light switch
Click the switch to turn on the rear fog lamp (the switch is active when one or more groups of side lights, low beam, high beam headlights and front fog lamps are turned on).
