Iveco dump trucks assembled in Russia and adapted to our conditions

Truck manufacturer Iveco appeared only half a century ago in Italy. But this corporation was created from companies with a deeper history, for example, it includes companies such as Marigus, Fiat, Lancia. An interesting fact is the existence of the Iveco-AMT enterprise, which is engaged in the production of trucks from this manufacturer, but already adapted to our conditions.

Iveco dump trucks

Iveco produces trucks of various types. Its list includes truck tractors, special equipment, dump trucks, regular flatbed vehicles and chassis. This corporation also offers customers light-duty, medium-duty and heavy-duty vehicles.

In this case, we are interested in dump trucks from an Italian manufacturer, which are assembled here, that is, models from the Iveco-AMT company. The story began with deliveries, and later with the assembly of trucks under the name Iveco Marigus.

Even then, a number of positive qualities of the car from this manufacturer were noted. They were less noisy than domestic trucks, even if they were air-cooled, these trucks were easy to start in winter, had a soft suspension, and their load capacity was good.

Now the design of Iveco trucks is significantly different from the first ones, but the positive qualities remain. Also, positive qualities include a wide range, which allows these cars to be used in different areas.

Magirus

Let's start a more detailed review with the first series of dump trucks - Iveco Marigus. This series included two dump trucks and two flatbed trucks. As for dump trucks, they were assigned our indices. The three-axle dump truck was designated as 290D26K, and the two-axle dump truck was designated 232D19K. Of course, they differed in technical characteristics, but they were structurally similar. These were bonnet dump trucks, without a driven front axle and were equipped with air-cooled power plants. In general, these were ordinary dump trucks with a large carrying capacity.

Tracker

Iveco Marigus was replaced by the Iveco Tracker series of trucks. This series includes different types of trucks, which also include dump trucks.

The Tracker series dump trucks have a hoodless design with the cabin located above the power plant. They can be equipped with a rectangular body or a bucket-type body.

They belong to heavy-duty dump trucks; versions are produced for use on regular roads, as well as versions with all-wheel drive, which provides them with off-road qualities. Dump trucks can also be three- or four-axle, with a different number of drive wheels.

It is interesting that iveco-amt Trekker dump trucks have only one factory index - 653900. Moreover, there are several modifications of dump trucks with this index. When purchasing this car, the manufacturer selects the optimal modification, with a specific wheel arrangement, power plant and body.

.

Therefore, there are no specific Tracker models, and they are all created to order. Therefore, the technical characteristics in the table are common to the entire line.

Daly

Iveco also produces small medium-duty vehicles called Daily. There are no dump trucks in this series, but there are vehicles with a flatbed body. This series also includes vans, but for now we will consider only the onboard versions.

Daly's 3-way dump trucks have a frame structure, the engine is located under the hood, and they are equipped with single and double cabs.

These cars are offered with 7 different wheelbases, which provides different load capacities. An off-road version of the Daly is also produced, with all-wheel drive.

The table shows the general characteristics of the Iveco Daly onboard versions:

Device and technical characteristics

The range of trucks replaced the popular Iveco Eurotruck family, which was produced from 1993 to 2004. Compared to their predecessors, modern trucks have 2-, 3-, 4-axle modifications with partial and all-wheel drive. Wheel formulas: 4x4, 6x4, 6x6, 8x4, 8x8.

Iveco trucks are available in 2 versions:

  • single chassis with a total weight of up to 41 tons;
  • tractor with semi-trailer with an operating weight of up to 150 tons.

Various superstructures are installed on a chassis with a frame that has a large margin of safety. Concrete mixer trucks, concrete pumps, truck cranes and grain trucks are widely used.

The Iveco Trakker dump truck is the most popular vehicle in the construction segment. It is designed with any type of fixed or tilting body in rectangular or bucket shape.

The models have design features:

  • installation of 1 or 2 output power take-offs;
  • shortened overhangs at the rear of special bodies;
  • availability of brackets for mounting subframe elements;
  • radiator protection;
  • vertical exhaust pipe;
  • double support-racks for adjusting the vertical load;
  • interface with a “smart” CAN system for configuration;
  • alloy wheels and increased payload.

The basic design of the machine includes 2 engines Cursor 8 and Cursor 13 with a volume of 8 and 13 l and a thrust of 360 and 500 l. With. respectively. The power plants have 6 in-line cylinders with a camshaft in the head of the cylindrical block; the valve mechanism drive is located at the rear.

To purify exhaust gases, the use of the SCR catalytic reduction system of nitrogen oxide is provided, which leads to an increase in the performance characteristics of engines, a reduction in operating costs and fuel savings. The engines are environmentally friendly and comply with the EEV standard - Euro 5 class.

The speed mode is regulated by 7 gearboxes:

  • automated 12-level EuroTronic, joystick switching;
  • mechanical with 9 and 16 ZF gears, switching by floor lever.

For greater comfort and optimization of directional stability, 3 types of suspensions are used:

  • semi-elliptical leaf spring;
  • parabolic spring;
  • electronically controlled pneumatic ECAS.

The cabin is manufactured in 3 versions:

  • Active Day - for daily work without a sleeping place and with a standard roof;
  • Active Time - with a sleeping bag and a low roof;
  • Active Time - without a sleeping bag and with a high roof.

The cabin is roomy, comfortable, upholstered in high-quality materials, has a highly efficient climate control system, improved sound insulation, an improved instrument panel, and many different compartments for storing personal items.

The electronic braking system includes:

  • ABS - anti-lock braking system;
  • EBL - electronic brake force limiter;
  • ASR - traction control system.

Reduced frequency of service brake application and reduced wear is achieved using the ITB turbocharged decompression engine brake and the CEB electric combination mechanism.

Iveco Trakker has a high degree of design.
