Iveco Daily 50C15
The Iveco Daly truck is a representative of the middle class of urban trucks. IVECO Daily is produced in a cargo version or in a passenger version. The build quality is top notch, including the quality of the metal used for the build. In addition, the car is very economical to operate.
Iveco Daily 50C15 is a light truck specially designed to perform versatile tasks in the city. Available in several versions, differing in body, configuration and equipment. Despite the fact that the actual carrying capacity of this car is 2.5 tons, it is possible to issue a vehicle passport, where the carrying capacity will be indicated as 990 kg for permit-free entry into the central part of Moscow. The total weight of the vehicle is 5,000 kg.
The cabin is designed for three seats, and there is enough space not only for the driver, but also for both passengers. Of course, large passengers will not be very comfortable on long trips, but this truck is still intended for urban transportation. Although its technical characteristics allow it to demonstrate excellent dynamics on intercity highways. So this car can be called universal and multi-tasking.
The car’s excellent dynamics are ensured by a highly technical and powerful diesel engine, as well as a 6-speed manual gearbox. The engine is very economical and unpretentious in terms of fuel quality - consumption is 13 liters per 100 km. The car's disc brakes, equipped with an anti-lock braking system, provide safe and fastest braking when there is a need for an emergency stop.
Iveco Daily 50C15 is fully adapted for use in Russian conditions of harsh climate and variable road quality. The integrity of the body and its durability are ensured by anti-corrosion treatment. A reinforced frame and reliable suspension guarantee confident performance of the car on rough roads and in off-road conditions. The machine demonstrated excellent performance at low ambient temperatures - the engine starts instantly, warming up takes minimal time.
Traditionally, Iveco is richly equipped even in basic versions. Here the owner will be pleased with a heated windshield, a sprung driver's seat with an armrest that can be adjusted in three directions, electric windows and heated rear-view mirrors, fog lights, climate control, audio preparation, etc. Also in standard models there is a speed limiter of 90 km/h for traffic safety. The visibility of the car is simply excellent - the car owes this to the large windshield and customizable, well-placed rear-view mirrors.

Expert advice
When choosing tires for a car, you must first follow the manufacturer's instructions. Ask yourself a few questions.
- On what roads will the car be primarily used?
- Do you need increased cross-country ability?
- How much of the route will be city roads and how much will be highways?
- Will the vehicle carry heavy loads?
The answers to these and similar questions will help determine which tire parameters you need to pay special attention to.
How to choose the right wheels for Iveco Daily 2013?
- Stamped (economical price category) - made from a sheet of iron by stamping on a press.
- Light alloy - manufactured by casting (more reliable than stamped ones).
- Forged (the highest quality and more expensive than the previous ones) - made from light alloys by stamping at high temperatures.
The choice depends on financial capabilities. However, it should be borne in mind that the quality of the road surface on which you have to drive every day must also be taken into account.
So, if it gets into a hole, a stamped disk will bend and will not cause harm to the tire, but a forged or cast one can cut it. There is a possibility that the cast disc may burst or crack.
It should also be noted that repairing “stamping” wheels is cheaper than repairing cast or forged wheels. But wheels with high-quality cast and forged disks kill the suspension less, because lighter and have more perfect geometry (better balanced).
The same wheels may or may not rub with tires on the same car - wheel alignment adjustment will help here.
Story
Iveco Daily commercial trucks and vans were developed by specialists from Fiat, Alfa Romeo and Officine Meccaniche as a replacement for the Fiat 241 and Fiat 238 delivery vans. The first generation Iveco Daily was produced in two versions:
- series 35 with a total weight of 3.5 tons;
- series 50 with a gross weight of 5.0 tons.
Initially, both modifications could be equipped with a 72-horsepower diesel engine with a volume of 2445 cc, or a 78-horsepower gasoline engine with a volume of 1971 cc. In 1985, they were added to a 2.5 liter injection turbodiesel with a power of 95 hp, installed on the Iveco Turbo Daly model.
The turbodiesel version is called Iveco Turbo Daily

Opinion
KIRILL BAZHENOV, Deputy Director for Logistics, Diet+ LLC St. Petersburg
— We use IVECO Daily light-duty trucks for the transportation of frozen food; the company currently has 34 such vehicles in its fleet. All vehicles have special bodies and refrigerated trucks on a chassis with a base of 3450 mm, a total weight of 3.5 tons and 3-liter engines. 12 cars of the latest batch are produced in 2012, the rest are from 2010 - their mileage already exceeds 75 thousand km. Our flights are mainly in St. Petersburg and its suburbs; we try not to overload the cars, although this happens occasionally. Nevertheless, the suspension and chassis on all our Dailys are still in working order, and there is no sign of replacing any parts other than “consumables”. Brake pads last 40–50 thousand km; we change them using our own repair service. All other work and maintenance is carried out at the service center of the official dealer. Almost all of the Dailys from the first batch had already had their tires replaced - before we purchased these cars, they had been in storage for a long time, which significantly reduced the tire mileage. We installed BF Goodrich tires and they run well. There were no problems with the engines in general and their fuel equipment in particular; all cars still have original clutches. On several cars, the steering column switches failed prematurely and had to be replaced. Otherwise, we spend only on fuel, filters and pads. Fuel consumption on our Daily, taking into account the operation of refrigerator compressor units, is 16–18 l/100 km.
Analogs
Failure to comply with this recommendation increases the likelihood of unexpected timing belt breakage, which will entail the need to replace the cylinder head, camshaft and rocker arm. To meet strict environmental standards, the engine had to be equipped with an exhaust gas neutralization system, including a main converter, a particulate filter and a pre-catalytic converter.
Cost and equipment
The EuroCargo model was first released in 1991 and became the most popular model of the Iveco company; in total, over the entire existence of trucks, more than 500 thousand vehicles were produced. One of the most controversial points in the reviews of Iveco Eurocargo owners is the low ground clearance, which is not entirely convenient for traveling on Russian roads.
Cylinder head
The SUV easily overcomes all the problems associated with off-roading. And he does it easily and naturally. For this, “Patriot” earned the gratitude of drivers and many positive reviews addressed to it. But high cross-country ability is not the only advantage of this car. There are quite a lot of them. And the most attractive of them are:
FUEL CONSUMPTION
Fuel consumption is reduced by 10% compared to the previous Daily model. The engines of the new Daily model have high fuel efficiency. This was achieved thanks to the following solutions:
- new turbocharger with variable turbine geometry with electronic control;
- Exclusive class A tires with ultra-low rolling resistance developed specifically for the Daily;
- "Start-stop" system
PERMITTED WEIGHT OF THE VEHICLE
In the Daily line there is an optimal model that meets any requirements and operating conditions. GVW from 3.5 to 7.2 tons, wheelbases from 3000 to 5100 mm long and bodies up to 6190 mm long - it’s difficult to find a more versatile car in this segment. Take full advantage of the Daily frame, the strongest and easiest to convert with high-strength steel C-beams.
BODY OPTIONS
FULL CUSTOMIZATION: The Daily was designed to fit virtually any body style to suit a variety of requirements and operating conditions. It is ideal for conversion into special vehicles - rescue vehicles, rear- and three-way dump trucks or emergency medical vehicles.

INTRODUCTION
In order to strengthen its position in the European market for vehicles with a gross weight of 3 to 6 tons, Iveco launched the next, third, generation of the Daily light commercial vehicle family in 1999. It is worth noting that models equipped with turbocharged engines are called TurboDaily. The range of models, depending on the load capacity (from 1.5 to 4 tons), includes three classes (L, S and C). The cars were produced with 8 wheelbase lengths and a total of almost 3,000 modifications. The main versions produced are: Van (van), Cab (chassis with cab) and Combi (cargo-passenger modification). In 2000, the new Iveco Daily received the prestigious title of “Van of the Year”, which undoubtedly indicates that Iveco engineers have coped with their task.
The organization of the driver's workplace brings the Daily closer to passenger cars in terms of ease of operation and comfort. Loading and unloading operations are facilitated thanks to the low loading height (680-735 mm), the presence of one or two side sliding doors with a width of 1100 mm and the installation of rear hinged doors that open to 270°.
Iveco Daily buses are perfect for comfortable transportation of passengers on urban and suburban routes.
Device
The car is based on a durable frame, the thickness and length of which varies depending on the version. The frame design provides Iveco Daly with a number of advantages over its competitors, allowing it to maintain a leading position in terms of load capacity in its segment. So, the maximum weight for transport is 4700 kg.
The car is offered in rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions. At the same time, versions with an all-wheel drive system, complemented by an asymmetrical center differential and two sequential range-multipliers, are produced in small series. The Iveco Daily is available with several transmission options: 6-speed manual or automatic transmission.
Depending on the configuration, the vehicle's suspension may vary. A torsion bar suspension with anti-roll bar or an independent suspension with shock absorbers is installed at the front; pneumatic elements or springs are installed at the rear. For some modifications, the air suspension includes a height adjustment function.
Safety is ensured by the advanced ESP system, which includes:
- engine braking control (MSR);
- system of assistance when starting on a climb (Hill Holder);
- trailer sway control (TSM);
- brake fade compensation system (HFC);
- ABS;
- electronic brake force distribution (EBD);
- hydraulic brake assist (HBA);
- hydraulic system for increasing the braking force of the rear wheels (HRB);
- anti-slip system (ASR);
- adaptive vehicle weight assessment system (LAC);
- electronic stabilization system (ESP);
- rollover prevention system (RMI&ROM).
For an additional fee, parking sensors, a rear view camera and airbags are installed on the car.
