Engine

A KAMAZ-740.30.260 engine is installed here. It is four-stroke and has 8 cylinders (12*12 cm). The valves are located at the top, and the circuit is V-shaped at an angle of 90°. Working volume - 11 l. Engine power - 260 horsepower. The motor is made in accordance with the international standard Euro-2:

Fuel consumption depends on the conditions in which the equipment will be operated, the time of year and the speed of movement. Average fuel consumption per 100 km is 27 liters.

Transmission

The vehicle is equipped with a 10-speed manual transmission and a two-stage transfer case, which is responsible for distributing torque to the front steering axle and the rear cart, which consists of two axles. The gearbox also has a divider and a permanent, non-disconnectable front axle drive.

The rear axle begins to function thanks to the cardan shaft, which comes from the middle axle section of the unit. The number of forward gears is 10, the number of reverse gears is 2.

A dry disc clutch system with a hydraulic drive and a pneumatic hydraulic booster is responsible for precise gear shifting while driving.

A high level of cross-country ability is ensured by the differential locking mechanism, which is located between the wheels of the rear axle.

Suspension

The vehicle is equipped with a dependent suspension. On the front axle there are semi-elliptical longitudinal leaf springs and telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers.

On the rear cart there is a spring-balancing suspension equipped with two longitudinal leaf springs. They are securely mounted on a spar and a pair of hydraulic shock absorbers.

Thanks to this suspension device, the unit has a softer and smoother ride, and a reduced level of vertical movement of the load-bearing frame when one wheel hits an obstacle. This design ensures good engagement of the wheels with the road surface, reducing the level of impact on the frame and reducing the likelihood of premature wear of the elements and components of the chassis.

Brake system

The vehicle is equipped with a service, parking, spare and auxiliary brake system. The elements of each of them work independently of each other. This helps ensure effective braking in all conditions.

The working system helps reduce the speed or completely stop KamAZ. Its elements are located on the surface of all wheels. The brake mechanism is driven by a pneumatic dual-circuit drive controlled by a pedal.

The spare system duplicates the options of the service brake mechanism if it fails.

The parking lot is connected to the spare one. Operated by the handle of a hand tap.

The assistance system helps reduce the load level and temperature of the brake parts. It closes the exhaust pipes and turns off the supply of fuel fluid.

Scope of application
