Do-it-yourself plow on the T-40
It is recommended to make a double-body plow from a sheet of alloy steel, this will ensure its high level of reliability and strength. The shape of the mounted plow is selected in accordance with the available cutting tool.
The procedure for making homemade products:
- A shape is cut out of a metal sheet (the thickness must be at least 3 mm) according to the finished pattern.
- After this, the cut piece begins to be bent in accordance with the desired shape. You can use a pipe or a cylinder.
- The lower and cutting part must be equipped with a metal strip, the thickness of which must be at least 0.5 cm. This will help increase the strength level of the entire structure.
- Attach the tape using hidden rivets or weld it with a welding machine. After which it needs to be cleaned and sharpened.
- Attach a holder (at least 4 cm long) to the back of the case.
- Install a flange at one end of the body, and a working part at the other, which will be secured with bolts.
The plow working width will be up to 50 cm.
How to properly adjust a plow on a T-40
Before starting the procedure, it is recommended to conduct an external inspection of the tractor and additional equipment, lubricate parts (fastening bolts, screws, etc.), tighten all nuts and fasteners.
The procedure for adjusting the plow on the T-40:
- Adjust the desired soil plowing depth using the adjusting bolt located on the attachment.
- Adjust the working width using the cross shaft tension rod. The right and left working areas should be the same distance from the ground, and the front and rear should be the same distance from the tractor frame.
- The vehicle wheel should be on the rut and the work area should be in the center of the ridge.
- The field edge should not protrude beyond the surface of the field stand by more than 0.8 cm.
- Attach the adjusted plow to the vehicle using longitudinal type rod holes. The maximum operating speed of the tractor together with this attachment will be 7.5 km/h.
Shovel (blade) for removing snow with a tractor
Tractor equipment is quite universal and is useful for a variety of purposes, where an ordinary person will need a lot of effort and time. The Soviet tractor could perform many tasks, from transporting crops to clearing snow in winter. In winter, it was possible to remove snow with a MTZ tractor if you had a special shovel, which was otherwise called catching. With it, the tractor could be considered a full-fledged snow removal equipment, so we will look at options for such a shovel for cleaning snow and present several popular models.
About the shovel for the tractor
Equipment such as a shovel can be mounted on a tractor both at the front and at the back; it is most often used on MTZ tractors. The classic option, of course, is the front shovel; rear-mounted equipment is often a self-made product. A plow on the rear linkage is cheaper to make, but its main disadvantage is the lack of comfort. The tractor driver will always have to turn around and guide the device. An extremely inconvenient decision.
If you use an MTZ tractor, the most popular classic solution will be the OS-1G utility blade, which is not entirely considered a snow blade. But it has an additional hydraulic cylinder that turns the blade in the desired direction.
The tractor blade is also used in various road and construction works, so having purchased this equipment once, you can perform several different jobs. The design and appearance of the blade allows you to move snow or other material, further leveling the surface. Depending on their purpose, dumps are of the following types:
- Utility - presented in the form of rotary or non-rotary models. The rotary blade is adjustable thanks to hydraulics or mechanical control, perfect for MTZ tractors.
- Snow plow - cleaning roads from snow with a tractor is possible with this equipment. There are two types of shovels: with a solid profile and a plow type. Plow models can control the last two sections, so they are quite convenient.
- Bulldozer and grader blades are based on steel knives and work very well on hard surfaces. A bulldozer blade may be suitable for snow removal, as it is mounted on the front linkage.
By design, a snow shovel looks like a durable metal box with knives at the bottom. Depending on the type of blade and purpose, the knives are made of steel or are flexible and replaceable.
Municipal dump MKO-4GP
Such a model is being created in Russia, Nizhny Novgorod. Introduced for municipal services and is a hydro-rotating model with the ability to clear large areas of snow. Used on roads, sidewalks, streets and other areas. In farming it is used for removing snow, garbage, manure, etc. It weighs 140 kg and is 1,800 mm wide, so cleaning takes a minimum of time.
Municipal dump OK-2.2G
The Russian shovel model is ideal for MTZ tractors and comes in two varieties - hydraulic rotary and rotary. The average price is 55,000 rubles. The blade performs well when cleaning streets, roads, small areas, removing snow, debris and various bulk materials. It has received a strong connection from a reliable material and is therefore capable of not only removing snow, but also digging trenches. Often used with MTZ 80 and MTZ 82 tractors.
The OK-2.2 model acquired a knife made of strong metal, the name of the model indicates a width of 2.2 meters, a blade height of 0.75 m, and a final weight of 330 kg. The ability to install a blade on most models of MTZ tractors is due to the design offset being increased by 125 mm. To withstand greater weight and dig trenches, the design is presented in a reinforced form. This is due to the presence of a reinforced frame linkage, the task of which is to attach the front and rear parts of the blade to the tractor. Thanks to this, the load on the blade is distributed evenly. Another feature of the blade is the elimination of a metal blade, so a rubber pad is used instead.
Homemade shovel for a mini tractor
The presence of a blade on a tractor equates the equipment to a small bulldozer with great functionality, but not everyone can buy full-fledged equipment. This is why you can make a snow shovel yourself. The procedure must be carried out extremely seriously, adhering to precise instructions and measurements; to create a blade you need a minimum set of tools and materials.
To complete the work you need to acquire the following set:
- grinder, drill, welding machine;
- pliers, screwdrivers, various wrenches
- nuts, screws, bolts;
- rubber and steel strips;
- steel pipes or an unnecessary barrel.
The first thing you will have to do is get the correct drawing; there are quite a few ready-made solutions on the Internet with all the measurements. The main material for the shovel will be a steel pipe with a diameter of 70 mm and walls of a minimum thickness of 8 mm. If you have an old barrel, you can use it, but you will have to cut the product into the desired shape with a grinder. The barrel is cut by ¾ to get 1 piece with the correct bend. Also consider the width of the barrel or pipe, because it should not greatly exceed the overall width of your tractor. A maximum of 40 cm projections on each side is allowed.

Kinds
Blades have different geometric configurations , depending on the type of work that the tractor with the blade performs.
spherical or hemispherical blades are used .
Special openings are made on the sides of the blade so that the bulldozer grabs material, for example, sand, soil, like in a bucket.
If you need to fill a trench or pit, a blade that can rotate 25 degrees to the sides is suitable.
When opening or removing the top layer of soil, bulldozers equipped with reclamation dumps . This “shovel” has a wide grip.
Straight blades can rightfully be called universal.
The tractor equipment must allow for distortions of the blade - this will allow you to work with both normal and strong soils. This bulldozer cuts the surface better .
